Hey Kurt I would really like to know if you can make a series on how to make it into Netflix and in movies and shows like Disney channel nick and stuff like that you know!?
I felt the same way brother. I am an Indian who is planning to come to the US fr studies and take acting classes. Kurt and Millie have been a motivation fr me. I hope I get into Hollywood and have some success in life
This was one of the best interviews I’ve ever seen. Cate seems like such a lovely and humble person. When it comes to these giant MCU films, you can only imagine the amount of stress that the directors go through and it was just so nice to see a director talk to someone who played a role, even if it wasn’t the biggest, in their movie. It was also really helpful to hear what directors look for in actors. Great job Kurt!
My favorite part.. “people who are not self conscious, they don’t give a shit what they look like.. they can just go into it” That speaks directly to my soul. ❤️ #goals
It's brilliant that Scarlet Johansson read Ever's role after Ever and her parents read it, so that was that unity of motivation. I'm also glad to hear the remark about flexibility. That's the joy of auditioning.
I love her perspective, it seems like she has a great respect for actors and is very dedicated to facilitating their connection to the character by helping them have a clear idea about who that character is. She's so deeply aware of the space actors need. Brilliant interview. Thank you so much for the opportunity to listen to this, Kurt. It made me so happy.
This is probably my favorite interview that you've done so far! Cate mentioned how she says nothing at the end of a great audition and why she does that.. Sharing this kind of insight is really helpful. Thanks again!
Wow Kurt! I can't believe how you were able to interview Cate. She is such a gigantic personality and yet so humble. Before migrating to Canada, I headed the largest production house in Dubai and would love to share my insight about film production in the Middle East. Cheers
I love the idea of getting a backstory about the character. I feel like it creates a bit of structure from which the imagination can take off of. I'm usually much more creative when there is something to jump build off of.
I've auditioned for parts and I had to make up my own back story to understand and 'get into' the character. Sometimes it's easy because you know the story, but if you don't know the story, I don't know who that person is. That makes it difficult for me.
This made my heart flutter out of my chest. I hope I have the chance to work with Cate one day. I LOVE hearing your experience, as well as hers, on working with actors/story, no matter how "big" the role.
Hey Kurt! I recently saw you in Black Widow and you were amazing! I of course waited for the end credits and saw you there and I was like that sooo cool you really inspire me to chase my dreams of becoming an actor and maybe we will work on a film together one day! Anyways I just wanted to stop by and say how good you were in the movie :) HAVE A GREAT DAY😁
Its amazing that you got an interview with the director of such a major film. You are doing great work. Keep doing what you do and inspiring people like me.
If I only could be a part of that conversation... 10:35 As an actor you also can find moments of "oh, that felt real, that felt authentic" at an end of a take or rehearsal, and than try to be as real and authentic again and it's gone. Or not as good as you hoped. Sometimes I enjoy more these kind of interviews than the films. Thank you for making that interview happen.
Great Interview! This must have been such an amazing experience. Big Congrats on your role! Your videos are very informative and very well made. Thank you!
Kurt...great interview! What an amazing opportunity to hear first hand from Cate. She is so gifted as a director and I loved getting to hear how she got where she is today!

Wow this was brilliant. This has really motivated me to keep going and get back to acting! I haven't auditioned for something in so long. Time for new headshots.
Hey Kurt, i commented on a video saying how im going to join classes in NYC .. Turns out that i actually landed an audition already for another theater:acting school close to my home town which i thought wouldn't even be possible to have such a close place to learn. Very excited about these next steps .. I actually have to do two monologues for the audition and was wondering if you knew (or anyone reading this), knew any unique ones that not everyone and their brother butchered in another audition. Or even maybe they did amazing and they will judge me off previous auditions they have already seen that blew their socks off .. Thank you for your time and keep on posting these amazing videos ..
Great interview Kurt! I thought what Cate said about 'exploring violence' was really interesting. Wonder what a 'John Wick' fight scene would look like with her direction... Also, that insert of Bryan Cranston made me think of his book. If you haven't already read it highly recommend it! I devoured it in about a day and a half (which really wreaked havoc on my digestive system 😉) When you mentioned your fellow SWAT guy pulling out that big black fan it made me think of the coat hanger scene from 'Raiders of the Lost Ark!' Many years ago I had a similar experience working on a pregnancy educational video. I played the husband in a Lamaze class. We were in an actual hospital and they had to shut off the air conditioning since it was being picked up on our mics. I was DRENCHED in sweat since we were sitting on the floor and I was supporting my 'pregnant wife' while she did her breathing exercises. Added to my own weight and her weight was the padding to make her look 8 months pregnant! Between each take I'd pull out this teeny tiny battery operated fan to dry off. Our make up artist was cracking up and said, 'Just be glad she isn't REALLY pregnant!'
Hey kurt yue ...congratulations for the role and chances.....I'm also moving to Hollywood ..to start my acting career ....wish me all the best ....I'm bit nervuos.....but I will try my best .......and practice hard ....and hey do you have.a monologue or acting sheet ....
It takes time, work hard, and network. Take lots of auditions. Manage your money well. It won't happen in three months. Be positive, pleasant, and a joy to be around. Help others out, make them want to work with you. Take a job in the industry if you can. I've worked with actors whose names you'd recognize, and they were all nice, positive people.
If someone had told me 10 years ago that I would be in a Marvel movie, I would have laughed and said they were crazy. I used to think it was impossible too.
@ᴍᴀɴɪᴋᴀ I never attended an audition because I am from Turkey. I don't have any money come to US. But you have a chance, use it. Actors recieve No a lot. But I believe someday you will recieve a Yes
Hey Kurt, I wanted to thank you for all the videos you make, they are really inspiring. And I wanted to ask you a question, do you have any tips for someone from Belgium who desperately wants to start acting in English but is « stuck » in his country since he does not have the money to move abroad ? Is there a chance or is it just to big/to hard to be possible ? Thx again and keep doing what you’re doing !
The vast majority of actors starting out are faced with financial challenges and location challenges to break into the industry. That's why over 90% of actors have another job (or two or three) to help finance their acting careers. Part of the challenge of pursuing this career is making enough money outside of acting to finance a possible relocation to one of the major production markets like Los Angles, New York, Atlanta, London, etc. I had to do this too when I was living in Cleveland. Even though I already lived in a city in the US, there were no movies or tv shows being made in my area. I had to relocated to Atlanta before my career really started moving forward.
Awesome. Hey man I'm getting into acting and I have a question. I don't know where to start. I am currently working right now in the orchards saving up about 15k to move out to Atlanta to start my acting career. Idk if I should start my acing career where I am right now (Yakima Wa) or save up and move out
if you can find opportunities to act in your city right now, definitely do as much as you can and get as much experience as you can before moving to a bigger market like Atlanta. Also, before you move, you might want to consider taking some Zoom acting classes with a school based in the city you are moving to. In Atlanta, I would recommend Drama Inc. www.dramainc.net
This was such an informative interview, thank you Kurt :D I have one question though: How would you personally go about showing that you can adapt and you’re not self conscious in an audition?
Typically you would show this in a live audition when the director or casting director gives you a re-direct. For self tape situations, you can submit a second take of the scene with different choices to show you aren't locked into one way of doing the scene
Hey Kurt, what is the amount of time you need to put in for training before you can take a step into getting an agent and auditioning for roles. And love your vids keep up the awesome work!!!!
There's no standard amount of time because everyone learns at a different pace and every starts from a different point. For me, I took classes for about a year before I got my first agent.
Hey Kurt, Thank you so much for all of your videos, i’ve been binge watching them! I’m looking for acting schools in atlanta? I have trained in a school in Florida for about a year and want to continue while I prepare for the move! Thanks!
Hey, I just started acting for my school drama team and I have an audition for a school play coming up. My drama teacher has not told us what play we are doing yet, and I was wondering if you had any tips for the theatre aspect of acting.

However I want to know what you think about acting schools I’m getting out of the military and I’m really interested in going to a prestigious acting school in New York or LA like Juilliard Do you think it’s worth it going to a school like that or would it be better to go to a small institution like drama inc. I would love to hear your thoughts about this
Whether or not it is "worth it" is going to be a personal feeling. I'm sure there are many people that went to Juilliard who absolutely think it was worth is and probably others who feel the opposite. There's no way for anyone else but yourself to evaluate whether or now something will be worth it to you.
Hi Kurt, I wanted to ask u. I couldn't find any online acting classes that looked legit, could u tell me some options from your experience or do u think skillshare would be the place to learn acting online

A real genuine question here many people have said that acting could be considered one of the toughest jobs to succeed at in your opinion and being 100% honest if you keep going and keep pushing to succeed in acting could you make it big with acting no matter how long you kept going could it be done? Like at some point will you get your big break is what I’m saying?
No. There are no guarantees in life. I'm not expecting my "big break" to happen no matter how hard or how long I work. If it happens, it happens. If it doesn't, it doesn't. I'll be happy either way. I don't really care about making it big or becoming famous. I'm just enjoying the process.
I have a question now that you have been in a marvel movie and another marvel movie is coming out after the one you have been in and in the new marvel movie that is coming out if they need a agent can they just cast you because you have already played a agent in a marvel movie so can they just cast you if they need agents in the other movie 🍿 r will they do auditions again
Hi, I recently moved to Turkey and I am looking for acting classes, but I don't know the language, and it is very difficult for me. These classes can be done online? Is it the same as face-to-face acting classes? Can u help me pls? Thank you so much.
I want to be an actor so bad but idk why I feel like I'll never make it big. Acting is something that I really want to do I just want to be able to be another character. Sure the money is fun but acting is funner. It's so hard for me being a Hispanic 18 year old especially where I'm living I'm scared to even take a walk down my street. I've dropped out of high school because I just hated it and felt I wasn't learning anything. I'm working on getting my GED. And I don't want to college for an acting because it's too expensive. I'm at this point in my life idk what to do with my self rn I'm 18 each day I wake up thinking what I'm gonna do and there's so many options but I swear everytime I think ACTING always just wipes out the rest of the options. I never ever thought about acting but the more and more I got In to it I loved it. I've been wanting to get into acing for about a year now and haven't done anything about because I have people telling me I'm a Hispanic Mexican and I'm not gonna be one of those "Brad Pitt" Leonardo type of guy and it just bring me down
Scarlett Johansson will be a extraordinary James Bond and if Gal Gadot Varsano and Florence and their best friends can star in the final Bond film it would be awesome
A great director makes ALL the difference. I've worked on two films directed by Tim Russ (Tuvok, Star Trek Voyager), and Tim's a wonderful director. He makes working fun. He's decisive, quick, knows exactly what he wants, so you are motivated to do your very, very best. He keeps you on your toes, which is great. (I've worked for indecisive, wishy washy directors, that is not fun). I did sound, btw.
If Scarlett Johansson is cast in one of her final Oscar winning films it should absolutely be the final James Bond film in 2022 or 2023. It would be phenomenal. Mrs Gal Gadot Varsano Wonder Woman should be in the final James Bond film too.

They will do casting for it again.
It's possible they will use my character again.
Hi, I recently moved to Turkey and I am looking for acting classes, but I don't know the language, and it is very difficult for me. These classes can be done online? Is it the same as face-to-face acting classes? Can u help me pls? Thank you so much.
Here's an online class I recommend: houdeschoolofacting.com/online-registration
I want to be an actor so bad but idk why
I feel like I'll never make it big. I've been wanting to get into acing for about a year now and haven't done anything about because I have people telling me I'm a Hispanic Mexican and I'm not gonna be one of those "Brad Pitt" Leonardo type of guy and it just bring me down
Eek amazing!
Yes it's me the public commenter
Hey kurt do you have social media like instagram, twitter or clubhouse? Would love to follow your journey on there too!
Only instagram but I don't really use it all that much
Scarlett Johansson will be a extraordinary James Bond and if Gal Gadot Varsano and Florence and their best friends can star in the final Bond film it would be awesome
