Thank you so much for having me fellas, it was a sincere pleasure to spend the morning chopping it up about the game we all love! Great channel, long may it prosper.
The Hulk pile can be done at instant speed with the Forsaken Miner instead of the Gravecrawler. As the Blood Artist targets a player it is a crime and thus it is an infinite combo.
The biggest benefit of playing the new bolt lands is every single one outside the green one can be fetched by Recruiter of the Guard and Imperial Recruiter. Hitting lands off a creature tutor is unparalleled value, and with Delney you get double fetches of lands. That's a huge positive.
Chthonian Nightmare is nerfed Recurring Nightmare because there's an ETB trigger. The problem with the old Recurring Nightmare was that if no one had countermagic, you just never get to interact with it cause returning it to hand was a cost. Now you can do Assassin's Trophy or Abrupt Decay, etc. in response to the trigger.
Correct me if I'm wrong but cthonian nightmare can use dockside by itself. As a korvold player. I have korvold in play Let's say I have dockside on bf. Cast cthonian nightmare sac dockside, return nightmare to hand Reanimate dockside. Since dockside is sacrificed as part of the activation it can target dockside to be the reanimated target. No other creature back and forth needed as long as you have a payoff like korvold. So dockside for 2 can draw your deck. Dockside for 3 nets an additional treasure.
lol my wife and I playing monopoly…I usually make good plays that set me ahead which just burns her to the point of raging a little but I swear it’s the only game I’ve ever played her where I lead and she looses it lol we don’t play that often but sometimes we try 😢lol
This might sound dramatic. But I am being serious, With land counts going less and less And MDFC count increasing… At what point do you cut mox diamond????
Hey its Shagga, i'm wondering if Chthonian Nightmare and Dockside will go infinite with just 3 treasures. Since the sacrifice is a part of the cost of the ability, you can sac your dockside he goes to the yard before the ability goes on the stack, and then you can reanimate it. am i wrong?
warren soultrader is the second card that can combo with lurrus. Phyrexian altar was the one that did before. This being a creature makes it reanimateabel an you can tutor it to the graveyard
Volatile stormdrake is great in control deck with a 5cmc+ commander. I play Marneus and I’m not on gilded because in a clone meta someone just steals my Marneus and now I can never get it back. I have to waste removal to get it back. If someone copies my volatile drake to steal my commander it goes back to commander zone.
I goofed around with yawgmoth, Geralfs messenger, and treacherous pit-dweller. Not having green makes your undying creatures slightly worse. Chthonian nightmare and soul-trader definitely helps prop up the strategy.
I think I'm seeing that there are some good stuff here for mono-color decks. Fanatic of Rhonas, Discplie of Freyalise and maybe Evolution Witness is looking good for my Selvala deck while Winter Moon and Vexing Bauble looking good for ole Urza. I'll be using Arena of Glory and Shifting Woodlands for my Etali deck for sure. Use Goblin Engineer to dump Cloudstone Curio in the graveyard and either give my gobbo haste with Arena of Glory or turn Shifting Woodlands into a copy of Cloudstone to start comboing off.
I love your channel guys and you teach me so much about cEDH but almost 3h of video is too much for me as a construction worker coming home in the evening T_T I wish you made some shorter videos sometime, but I will definitely listen to this one as a podccast during work, love you all keep it up
As a Sisay player, I feel very good when someone jams a Moon, I usually end up winning, but the access to red IS relevant, so I can see the blue being much worse.
Flare of Fortitude in malcolm/tymna? Protects your pirates, rhystic/mystic, and also an ad naus deck. Idk if it's good enough in that deck because I don't play it, but to me it looks playable at worst.
@2:31:13 hear me out hermit druid is back on the menu mill a Jace have this land copy the Jace and best of all it can be the druid and Jace if druid dies
Mono white enjoyer here. Not playing the MDFC is just being willfully obstinate in my opinion. Unless you can show me a mono white list with zero basics, its basically free upside to a basic. If the nonland side just said this is a white card that pitches, it would be better than a basic.
Volatile stormdrake has the protections so you can't Phelia loop someone's entire board to yourself. I do that with gilded drake in my adbel adrian cedh deck to lock games into grind hell fests. If we had gotten both phelia and volatile stormdrake in the same set without that protection clause I'd be out here stripping and dancing.
Alright. Your take on null elemental blast is off the mark i think. I can tap my sol ring to counter a kraum and that counter cant be redblasted, thats so hype as a talion player. I can tap my mana crypt and send tivit to the shadow realm before combat?? Hype. I can tap my underground river for colourless and counter a teferi. I think this card is going to be wild in cedh.
0 talk of top deck tutors with powerbalance, mulligans with power balance and a top deck tutor = access to the most powerful 2-3-4 cost spells In your deck. Already cast multiple free Rhystics one rings and ad naus’s in just the first week of testing with mystical tutor vamp tutor and lim duls vault
If I tried to pick up my dog like wounded does and put her on camera in my computer chair, I would look like I was dropping a steamer, give myself a hernia, and crush my chair.
I am cringing so hard about how praised is Flare of Denial. Why doesn't Abjure see any play ever? In a format where counterspells are "weak" already in terms of efficiency and this makes you do a -2 for a -1. Seriously the fact that is a niche card, doesn't make it worthwhile. And yet completely unfazed by Strix Serenade, while we are clearly moving onward towards permanent based closures. Come on. PLEASE. The Thassa's Oracle case is a load of COPE! WHY WOULD IT BE GOOD IF EVERY SINGLE OTHER USE OF IT BESIDE PROTECTING A WIN ATTEMPT IS BAD. Dispel is a better card, be serious.
It might be helpful to think of blue flare the same way you think of pact. Do you not run pact because of the 5mana upkeep cost? It’s an amazing offensive I’m winning the game no matter what spell. Flare is similar in all in on the win. Now Yah know?
While I acknowledge the huge difference between 1 and 0 mana, I want to address the fact that this is a card that becomes more viable the less colors you run in your deck. As I am sure you are aware of, with a notable exception, there is an undeniable trend of better performances associated with playing more colors. Also thankfully we don't live in an age where there is much discussion to be made about specific cards. We can and should wait a couple of months and see what the data says about the converted winrate associated with this specific card. Also it's definetely fruit of sophistry to think that a variable cost is actually "free". You are going to sacrifice a different CMC creature, to counter a different CMC spell everytime you cast this. Mana has an economy that goes beyond what happens within a single turn, and a hundred different people could come at me saying bUt IT's FrEe and there would be a 100 different people with a poor understanding of the game.

Such a great artist man!!!
Amphibian downpour I think I like for my KrarKashima
Wounded acknowledged Tayam card on video. Liked and subscribed.
Not magic related but really love how they make each guest so comfortable and highlight how awesome they are
Easy to do when the guests are as great as Tim!
I lost a game yesterday because the zirda player phased out my collector ouphe with Talon Gates. It was awesome
I think my favorite overlooked part about strix serenade is it being pretty immune to deflecting swat in most cases
This is Steve From Kings Court. Tim, you are the man and im glad you came through! Hell of a person and artist.
You don't just gotta love to win, everyone loves to win. You gotta hate to lose.

ajani's ult is a "cat"aclysm
LMAO

MH3 has been nuts so far. So many cards already finding a way in most of my decks. Thanks for another one gentleman.
Witch Enchanter with recruiter is a tutorable land if you need it
Such a fun episode, the chemistry was off the charts! Love the discussion on Ob’s new toys!
Amazing stuff as always and Sabertooth was a great guest
Thanks Wounded for mentioning the Gravecrawler line, was already slotting Soultrader into Ayara but now there's another even shorter line 🎉
Mono white gamers, WILL be playing those Mdfc 😂 better top deck than a plains
Fact's 😂

I really like the vexing bauble. It gives another "win" if you run bomberman combo.
Competitive CATAN! Can't wait for that video

Nah you need a second creature
Targets must be declared before costs are paid, so no that's not right.
Forsaken miner instead of gravecrawler makes the combo instant speed

At what point do you cut mox diamond????
You cut mdfcs for mox diamond, not the other way around. So never, you never cut mox diamond
@@ziyanli137 what’s the math? What’s the number? At which point you e gone too far ?
Did you guys deliberately overlook Disruptor Flute, or just not too high on it?

I feel like Emrakul's messenger would be fantastic in Marneus means your second draw always gets you a third and mana.
Warren Soultrader is dope in Korvold. So good. So is Chthonic Nightmare. Thanks for buffing my deck WOTC
Volatile stormdrake is great in control deck with a 5cmc+ commander.

witch enchanter is so free its literally just a land. Plus it means recruiter fetches a land
Amphibian downpour is a Marneus card. Can shut off value creatures - and if it hit my 1/1 I have I can draw 4/5/6 cards

One thing if you are in the colors to do it chthonian nightmare also opens up a cool intuition pile of reclamation, dockside and nightmare
So I run a high power mono white Bruna stax build with dual tribe humans and angels. Still not interested in Witch Enchanter.
Charitable Levy is also an infinite draw outlet for the copy artifact combo in Tameshi as well. It s 100% a slam dunk.

So can we just have recurring nightmare back now?
Flare of Fortitude in malcolm/tymna? Protects your pirates, rhystic/mystic, and also an ad naus deck. Idk if it's good enough in that deck because I don't play it, but to me it looks playable at worst.

Stormdrake is budget for a non proxy friendly pod
Sorry, I pled your comment section enjoyed the video guys
max is right about flare in talion.
wounded is right about strix serenade
MH1 the first sliver … 😢RIP First sliver
You gotta show us that for a baby sometime up close I’m watching from my phone
Oh boy, does that baby love your rubs
Strix serenade counters one ring
Volatile storm Drake also gets around indestructible right
And definitely someone new has access to these cards comparing to older cards that are a little more difficult than expensive to get
Nadu is going to break the format imo
Aether revolt wins games
Its a Land!!!!!! He dont get it. :") hahahaah
Just following up. Strix Serenade still trash 😂

Flare can cost 0 mana. That is better than the 1 mana equivalents you mentioned
Free to Cast > Not Free to cast. It's not hard to see why flare is better than abjure.
one mana versus free is a big difference
