So sorry to learn that Neil has been diagnosed with Parkinson's. How many great songs has he given us and I dare bet there are more to come as he said he would continue writing.
I thought he was thinking and drinking over a bottle of bourbon called crackling Rosie , when he was hitching on a midnight train, when he didn't have a real rich bitch to hug on to; hence him singing he " will grab myself with a poor man's lady " a bottle of cheap moonshine . So much for respect for his mum , and every other women . And men .
Cracklin' Rosie is about a group of men somewhere. They were isolated, and there were no women with them. Cracklin' Rose is a bottle of wine the men drank.
nathaniel why dont you upload your own version then? you cant make sense of anything unless its exactly perfect? ;ut two and two together. maybe the uploader thinks your comment is pointless cause it wasnt fast enough?

BTW It's a song about a bottle of wine bought at a convenience store (shop) in the late hours of the night - we can all relate!

Lyrics are 2 seconds behind the track.....so therefore, pointless!
No disrespect but the words start before you see the lyrics, nice effort but useless to learn it from this.
