  • Review of the 37 Sensors and Modules Kit (Version 2) for Raspberry Pi and Arduino
    Last year, I did a video review of Sunfounder's 37 sensors and modules kit for the Raspberry Pi and Arduino. They've recently updated the kit with a version 2 that includes updated modules and better instructions. In this video, I'm going to take a look at each sensor in the V.2 kit and explain a little about how each sensor works and what it can be used for. It's a really nice kit to have, especially if you're just starting out in DIY electronics. There are enough sensors to keep you busy for a very long time!
    Get the kit here: www.amazon.com...

    While I put you on 1.5 speed for most of the video, this was exactly what I needed. I just got into Raspberry Pi this past weekend, and I needed a good overview of what these types of kits contain. Thanks!

    I see whinners over you opening each one.. and should have cut it out. if there times is that precious they should get off the computer. Your video sir is THE BEST VIDEO on the 37 sensors I've ever seen. NO ONE has covered it with as much detail on each piece as you did. NOT ONLY telling us what it is , but what and how it's used. Couldn't have been better unless you actually hooked each one to a demonstration ( which would have taken a few hours LOL ) .. EXCELLENT STUFF!!

    Just a tip, but you could have edited out a LOT of time by snipping all the footage of you opening baggies and removing components. The eerie silence doesn't help. Good video otherwise though.

    While seeing the modules and hearing your explanation about each one was useful, there was way too much dead air time. Showing the kit is fine for a very short intro, but the random order and time to open each one made it tedious. For future videos, perhaps consider having them all open and organized by type. Text displaying the sensor/module name would be very useful too. Finally, some explanations left me wanting just a bit more: why are the 2 headers useful tot the accelerometer module? What application might use the RGB vs the dual color LED?

  • @kensmithmail

    Excellent video, audio loud and clear with me, lets a beginner know what inexpensive modules are available, I prefer the video slow rather than too fast, saves pausing and re winding like some that seem to be in a race, although might have been better to have had all modules out of plastic bags before starting, but great informative video thank you.

    Not too shabby!! Well inspired contents of actually potentially useful stuff, suited to an incredible variety of tasks in proper combos. Put an electronic ignition on that model t. Make that gas hibachi a self lighting full auto kebab cooker/delivery system. Convert the governor on your vintage Mercedes 240d to lamda closed loop. Make coffee! Survey enclosed spaces! Make a robot that annoys the cat with a laser pointer when it wanders past. Cycle your water heater to save dough. Good vid, nice to the point delivery. Thanks for posting!!

    Good detail, but as others have pointed out it's barely audible. Taking the components out of the bag beforehand would have refilled in a significantly shorter video with the same level of content. Even so, thanks for making this. I picked up a similar kit and there were a few modules that I was unclear about.

    I find these sensor kits useless because I do a lot of recycling and I've got pretty much all of the sensors and then some just from stuff that other people throw away, for anyone new to Raspberry Pi or Arduino these kits are useful to learn how it all works. However these kits aren't very practical either because you can hook up only one module at a time, there are exceptions but if you want to make something useful out of a kit like this you can forget it, these are not made to be used in a dedicated application.
    If you are a bit more experienced I recommend you to recycle a few broken TV's, I've got WiFi, Bluetooth, IR module, Button arrays and a sort of joystick from only one Samsung tv that had a broken display, I even made a very bright LED panel from the back-light that I can use to shoot videos and all that for free, it only took me some time to take it all apart.
    Best regards,
    Ricardo Penders

    A small nitpicky correction; Mercury salts are toxic to the touch, and as long as your skin is without damages or scratches you're fine. But never the less it's moronic to risk it ;-)

    • @mikedebruyn2195
      @mikedebruyn2195 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      And yet another nit ... that is mercury metal (Hg) and not some salt of mercury. It is technically toxic by breathing the off gassing from the metal, however, I used to play with the stuff as a kid. We would chase balls of it all over the lab table. Who knew. But I've suffered no ill effects many decades later.
