Our Boy Bill once again giving us the much needed information to make our decision on how to purchase cool action figures. Yay! 👍🏼👍🏼
@@traviswilcox3472 Thanks Travis!
Thank you for these videos. As a casual collector of Mythic Legions you have really been my guide on the do's and don'ts of collecting this line. I always appreciate the insight and information in all of your videos. Happy Holidays
@@pauljohnson3442 I'm glad it was helpful, that's what I like to hear. Happy Holidays to you too!
Great video Bill. I always enjoy your breakdowns.
I'm not an avid Mythic collector I swing more Cosmic but man if Bassylia and the Serpent Guard aren't right up my alley. A big Quetzalcoatl lady and an Aztec eagle warrior snake man WITH A MACUAHUITL!!! Anytime a toyline references my culture I gotta jump on it cause man the Aztec have some incredible artwork and clothing to draw inspiration from and they so rarely are.
Excellent video! Lots of good points. Thanks so much! 🖖🏾
Great breakdown video as always. Got one All-In and debating a couple more single preorders, especially J'hennam with that $20 bump at retail. One isn't enough after seeing that Arethyr pop and swap the other night on Jeremy's show.
Phenomenal wave, top three for me (Poxxus and Illythia being the others). Thank you for this roundup too, it's definitely going to result in me getting a few extra gnolls and not-Legionaries. Also maybe an extra Arraya...
I'm in Australia and shipping for an All-In has always erased any savings in the past, so I just get from the official retailer or BBTS if anything sells out first. This time though shipping is less than the discount ($90usd vs $125usd) so this will be my first direct All-In from 4H and the extras I will order from the official retailer.
Bill, I appreciated your breakdown. The difference in compatibility and engineering was markable. The female buck used for Arraya is a favorite. The Cackler appeals to the gamer in me in lore and playability. A mythic wave.✌️
@@stevewegling8070 glad you liked it!
I have been watching your videos for a year now , it was your Jacob Marley video that finally sent me over the edge as I had been admiring Four Horsemen products from afar until that point , now I am all in but never have ordered on the initial launch . I will probably wait until this wave hits retail but I definitely want in on the dragon . So do they always take the money when you order on these advanced pre orders ? I don't mind paying for it now and waiting but I did not want the payment hanging over as the economy may look completely different by the time it is ready to ship , in my country the UK anyway . Thanks in advance and great videos .
@@keithsamuels2533 If you order direct, they always take payment up front.
@@DorkLair Thank you , much appreciated .
Bill- thanks for the recap. Highly recommend collectors do a spreadsheet to compare and contrast and order what makes sense for you.
Is that Royal Guard an homage to MOTU's Kobra Khan?
Maybe the Four Horsemen have not gotten to the Snake Men of MOTU homages yet.
Fingers crossed
I'd totally buy that homage 😉
When will Four Horsemen do another Cosmic Legions reveal?
They just did one four months ago, so I'd say maybe mid 2025 perhaps.
Appreciate the vid and the info bud! Was wondering if you had any info on the tail of the snake though (bottom half)? For example could I lay the snake completely flat? Coil him up? I can see different articulated pieces but I'm not sure how much movement is really there.
Thinking about it now, in order to stand upright the bottom must be pretty flat too?
Hope you had a nice xmas.
I don't think you'll be able to fully coil him up, but he'll lay flat for sure. There's a static piece in the middle of the figure that puts it in that "upright" pose, but you can switch it out for two more regular segments that make it one long straight articulated tail.
@ appreciate you! I did think I was seeing that upright piece. Good to know it can probably be swapped out if needed.
I'm gonna need a crackler body for the Monkey King
It's gonna look so good!
Pre-orders with such long wait times are scary.
Wait for retail.
@@DorkLairso he can pay double ? Idk about that advice my dude he has a very valid point.
@@micklestapler4 It's not double. In fact unless you're going all in, the difference really isn't that much at all since you can find retailers who offer free shipping.
@micklestapler4 definitely not double...lol
You understand the difference between retail and aftermarket right?
They are scary, but I can tell you from experience the Four Horsemen have never let their customers down. As long as you don't die and as long as we don't enter WW3 you'll get your figures.
Leodysseus is an absolute beauty. My only gripe is that all the new articulation won’t be accessible when the figure is fully assembled with shoulder pauldrons etc. We all know how little range of movement you can get with these figures when the pauldrons are attached. I truly feel that keeping the parts library focused on backwards compatibility is holding back the massive potential of this line.
@@beej5 I disagree with that take.
@ which one? You can see from the livestream that the butterfly’s are behind the armor plate. They won’t be usable. No double jointed elbows. Pauldrons will block upward mobility. Bicep swivel is nice though
@@beej5 I disagree with the opinion that keeping the parts library backwards compatible is holding back the potential of the line.
@ fair enough! They are coming around on the articulation front but it’s a verrrrrrrrry slow process. It’ll prob be another 4-6 years until we get figures with range like SC figures
@@beej5 I think the core disagreement I have with your take is that articulation is not the most important factor that determine's a line's potential.
Even though i love how Bassylia looks like the Quetzalcoatl diety, I have to turn her into Medusa, it just has to be.
@@zephyrleapold6796 Good reason to buy two
For $100 I’m buying both snakes. For $200 I’m adding leodysseus or the cackler and dragon lady, that’s a tough call
IMO there is a divide in the collecting community. Toy photographers are obsessed with articulation. Pop and swap customizers want easy customization. Personally I would rather have good articulation that is easy to swap as opposed to super articulation that only looks good in a photoshopped image.
@@perceivedvelocity9914 There are many types of collectors with all different preferences beyond just photographers and customizers. Some people are purely about display, some are obsessed with the lore, some are in it for a sense of completing a collection, while others care only about scale (and many others). So I see it less as a divide and more as a kaleidoscope of interests. My main hope with a company like Four Horsemen is that they maintain their artistic integrity and follow their own hearts, not worrying too much about the specific whims of the various collector types.
This wave, to me at least, is just OK, a bit of everything really : Eastern + Inca/Aztec + Roman + Beasts (a lack of overall focus perhaps in the wave?).
The issue now seems that allthough there is a payment plan in place BUUUT only for US based customers! Which for everybody else wanting the big dragon being offered in Q1 of 2025 solves nothing! Why not just have a monthly payment plan in place FOR EVERYONE (US and the rest of the world)?
so basically a whole new line, so no need to collect these or on ward, this is how ML lose collectors. it doesnt fit in with its own line.
@@jkhadem5729 I'm not understandIng. How does this wave not fit with its own line? It's got two figures of major characters that Legions collectors have been begging for for years, plus figures to support those characters. It's got advancements and refinements on the established build system. I'm having a hard time seeing how this wave doesn't fit in.
@DorkLair because its not the same anymore, i mean now the old figures are unless from this point on
@DorkLair and its really messed up, preordered the rising son wave and now i see they changed the whole line, are those figures screwed or will they do everyone right and give them this updated bodies
@@jkhadem5729 I responded respectfully and you insulted me. Have a great day.
@@DorkLair ye, my bad , late night comments
Haha no reason to go to shows anymore 😂
