@lpv1984 I thought the same thing when I first played that guitar - it’s amazing how much the pickups and parallel / series switching plays a part in that tone

@@vaisatchatrucci Thanks brother. There is 1 more to mention: Shiva/Red Seven Amplification "Lil Wave" = This one is also very special and worth checking out. I've played in a Rush Tribute Band and love Alex Lifeson, (also) Huff & Landau tones. I'm a Chorus Junkie.
@michael_caz_nyc Yes of course! That one is awesome as well. They also make a rack version called the “Shiva” too which sounds amazing as well. Thanks for the addition!
Fantastic Video. I am from this era and own a TERC and an eventide GTR4000. The micro-pitch -shift is what makes the Tri Chorus just sing!!! You are a super great articulate player. Great job.
@roblehman1969 Thank you so much for the kind words! I appreciate that and YES the micro pitch shift is key! I wish I had time to do the micro pitch on the Eclipse because it's even better than the algo's on the H9 or H90
@jayboy6895 Man thanks so much! I appreciate that! More to come soon! Trying to get back in the groove and back in my happy place and you’re helping motivate me even more so thank you!
@jergervasi3331 Thanks so much brother - and yes 100% the guitar plays a huge part and it’s worth every penny I have to say which I was initially very skeptical of to be honest.
There was SO much to digest here. I’d agree with you that for the price and versatility / the H9 seems to be the winner, but that Tri-Avatar did sound REALLY good. The TERC is special, but not enough for me to build a rack around 😂
@Nathan_Lundstrom Thanks for checking it out buddy and for commenting! I agree with you - there’s a TERC on Reverb for almost $8k 😂 I may need to test the market! 😂
Outstanding demo/comparison (and playing). I had the Eventide Tricerachorus but found that it was thin and cut a lot of low end. I now use the Neunaber Immerse and Red Seven Lil Wave as slightly more ‘affordable’ options for Tri-Chorus but I’d love to try the TERC one day.
@nickmellor344 Thank you so much! I’ve heard excellent things about the Immerse! And the Red Seven is great / they actually made a rack version similar to the TERC that you can find from time to time on Reverb as well which sounds excellent - I think it’s called the “Shiva” if I’m not mistaken. Also good to know about the Eventide pedal thank you!
@@vaisatchatrucci Hey thanks for the info and reply-I look forward to future videos. I have a ‘14 Killer Michael Landau Riffs’ on my channel you might like. All the best from jolly old England 🏴
I have the Eventide (H9 max) with the tricera chhorus, the Neunaber Immerse and the digitech nautila 8 voice chorus - all pedals. I have the same impression, I was a little bit disappointed by the tricera chorus. I like the Neunaber best, but only in the first selected position (single trichorus without detune). On the other hand I think the digitech nautila is one of the best chorus pedals with an incredible wide sound stage. Very good as a substitute for a trichorus.
@@NikolausBrocke Interesting to know. The Neunaber is a hell of a pedal. Yes that first setting is killer. Will have a look at the digitech. I also still like the original 1980s Arion chorus in non-modded, non-Landau form.
Awesome very well put together sweet Axe 🎸 I just got the Eventide micropitch delay to go with my Tricerachorus it sounds awesome but nothing beats the terc.🎸😎
@@aleksamrkela831 Heck yeah! 🤘I have to say though that I probably need to redo this shootout because I realized the Ox Stomp pedal settings I was using wasn’t set with mics panned hard left and right so the stereo spread wasn’t 100% wide 🤦♂️ Still sounded good but I also didn’t have the micro pitch set right either so I’ll probably do a 2nd version and add the Dimension C into the mix as well…

Hi There, Great video!! Thanks for posting! A question -> The TERC is running at line level......what about the pedals? Are they in front of the amp, or in an effects loop?
@ianmacneil556 Thank you! Pleasure is all mine and glad you liked it! Signal chain was guitar -> Revival Drive Hotrod Edition (set clean obviously) -> line splitter which routed each split into the input of each effect as well as the OX Stomp for cab sims and then the output of all were connected to an RJM line mixer and then I ran the output of the line mixer out in stereo into my Apollo Twin interface. For my rack rig, I run all FX into the RedSeven MLSM (stereo mixer) which I could have used but I have so much already plugged into it and it works so I didn't want to mess with it for fear of it not working next time I play! LOL
Just found out this video and your channel since I've been loking to recreate that 80's Landau tone and you nailed what I've been looking for! I know the tricerachorus will get me there, but any chance you remember what were your settings?
@@elvinlupi5619 Thanks so much! If you go to my Studio Pedalboard 2025 demo video at the 21:43 mark and I put the settings on the screen there that I am using. It shows both pages (from the H9 app) pretty quickly but you can pause on both screens to snag the settings. Hope that helps! Thanks again! 🙏
Amazing work. The tone of my dreams! I have to make do with the Tricerachorus plugin, which tbf gets me pretty close. I record my Strat through one of those Rockman Ace boxes to help me get a bit of that snap. Now I'm wondering if I should try and emulate that mid boost with a pedal of some sorts...
@funkmachine6420 Thanks brother! The mid-boost on the guitar I was using I actually never turned on, what you are hearing is the switching of parallel to series and vice-versa on each pickup that assists in this tone. So if you look up the latest Dann Huff interview by Vertex Effects they have put a link in the description to a wiring diagram that shows how to match the wiring of Dann Huffs strat and that is going to get you closer than adding a mid-boost for sure. Hope that helps!
@@vaisatchatrucci hey dude! Oh really? Ha no way, I watched that interview but skipped through the wiring bit as I didn't think it'd be for me (not very handy). Thanks so for much for that tip, I will go through that section in great detail!
The so called "midboost" is not a true midboost. It's a combination of an impedance transformer (buffer) and a boost circuit that boosts low frequencies at 100 Hz with a wide Q-factor. The combination of both is important. The buffer changes the impedance from high to low. This opens the frequency spectrum because the load (cable, pots) have no influence on the tone anymore. Great for clean tones! You can plug in to a line input without sounding dull. But when you play overdriven lead tones this has too much high frequencies. That's when the "mid boost" does his thing. In boosting lows, the nasty highs are tamed for the high gain tone. It's like VaiSatchAtrucci said, the series/parallel switch seems to do the most magic. You can use a passive circuit and have an external buffer pedal. E. g. the lehle sunday driver or the xotic super clean buffer.
Hey! Could you do a video review on the James Tyler danhuff black classic? There isn’t lots of reviews on the black classic version of danhuff’s strat.
@markinthemix6055 Yeah I couldn’t get my hands on one and needed to get the ones I’m not keeping sold to pay for some other gear so I had to strike while the iron was hot as they say just to get this done with what I had to shoot out. I also wanted to throw the Eclipse in the mix because it has EXTREMELY lush choruses and pitch shifting and in fact the pitch shift on the Eclipse is even more beautiful than the H9 or H90 which you’d think wouldn’t be the case but it’s amazing. Thanks so much for checking out the video bro!
@Davimre TECHNICALLY I did yeah but he’s literally talking about the physical pedal itself which should be the same sound technically but it may not be I don’t know. SHOULD be since that’s the point of those pedals but who knows. Thanks brother!
@matttaylor1449 Yes so in “normal” mode for each pickup which is the buttons in the UP position, they are in series and in the DOWN position they are switched to parallel. So the sound I like the most for cleans is with the pickup 5-way selector in the 2nd position which is Bridge / Middle and the Bridge in series (UP) and the middle in parallel (DOWN). I believe that’s correct. The thing to remember about these pickups as well is that the “single coils” are actually stacked single coils so they are noiseless and not traditional single coils so switching them to parallel gives them the effect in a way of being “split” which thins out the sound but it also retains the low-end more than splitting what is essentially a humbucker. Hope that helps!
@BorisBidjanSaberi11 NICE! Yeah I had the Vertex Arion but returned it cause the pedal was sort of defective (it was used) but I LOVE the way it sounds! Make sure you get the TA-2H and not the TA-1H. The 2H has a better mix control and also holds more presets I believe. I bought the 1H because I didn’t know there was a 2H and returned it and the seller got pretty ticked off but he still let me return it - he didn’t believe I was stupid enough to not know I knew what I was getting and I was like nope I’m definitely stupid enough I promise. 😂
Great demo and playing, thanks for sharing! I think its the only video that shows the threeway the way its supposed to be used. Two questions , do you know if RT eletronic is still making the threeway? second one, does the CXM 1978 nail the Lexicon PCM sounds? Thanks !!
@tubo777 Thanks so much! Appreciate that very much! I’m friends with the guy who makes those Threeways so I’ll ask him - I think at the time I bought mine it was literally the last one he had but that was at the start of the pandemic. He was having trouble sourcing the parts mainly but I’ll ask and let you know for sure! The CXM is AMAZING and YES absolutely nails the Lexicon sound it’s a beautiful sounding reverb. I would also say (which I just found out) that the new’ish Meris Mercury X reverb has the same algorithms as the CXM and I may be going that route if that’s the case but I’ll have to hear it to believe it. The demos I’ve heard of the Mercury X are pretty mind blowing too but I absolutely love the tactile factor of the CXM and in the LEAST will keep it for home studio use and maybe swap it for the Mercury X in my rack. Bottom line, I can’t recommend the CMX enough man it’s a STUNNING sounding reverb.
@@vaisatchatrucci Thats great to know. I´m in the process of building my first rack and have all the units except the reverb so the I was looking for a pcm70 or an 81, but I live in rep. Argentina, and they are scarce and very expensive here, and was thinking that maybe some of the new pedals or an H90 does the job and I dont risk my money in an old unit (theres no way I can service one down here). But theres so much talk about "the sound or Mojo" of a pcm 70 that I was afraid of missing it as I already bought all the Eventide, TERC , 2290, 1210 etc and still no Lexicon😬. Ill do some research on the Mercury X too. Thanks for the help friend!!
@tubo777 You’re quite welcome! Sounds like you have a ton of excellent gear already!!! I would also recommend the Eventide Eclipse as well as the reverbs are excellent there too but I think overall the Mercury X is what you’ll be happiest with
@tubo777 I talked to Michael at RT Electronics and he said you can order the Threeway now for sure! The turnaround time is something you’d need to verify with him on as they’re getting ready to ramp up production on all their pedals so in the meantime it may take a little bit it sounded like but again, just verify with them and they can tell you definitively.
What is the amp/preamp? Going straight to mixer? I use an original dynamic my piano tri chorus..a eventide h3000dse fir pitch shift..or spx90...a revive modded dbx 160...compressor..and a tube compressor..a tyler with all bells and whistles.or a 59 strat. Green backs.. lexicon reverbs...the base sound is the most important. Seymour stacked coils in parallel..alder body....very complicated sound if you don't have guidance ..nailing the sound is 10-20k quest
The sound was very Landau! reminded me of "I don't care" from 'Tales'. With your non-chorused tone, did you also use a compressor? Also, you said you used reverb in Logic- was there a delay also? The sound was very Landau. Please share all settings if you can.
@@Lonnie-B1 Hello! Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed it! As for if there was delay, no there was not, just reverb was added. As for whether there was a compressor, I honestly don’t know - I put the signal chain on the screen and did not list it so it’s likely that I did not have a compressor on. The Revival Drive has a nice bit of natural compression inherent to the pedal. IF there was compression on it would have either been the Suhr Woodshed Compressor or the Origin Effects Cali-76 Stacked Edition and the settings I use for those is an “always on” type setting that isn’t particularly extreme so it’s hard to tell if it’s even on most of the time in either case. That said, NORMALLY I have one of those ALWAYS on but set very mild and use them more than anything to push the preamp of whatever amp I’m running into whether physical analog / tube preamps or virtual (I.e. Quad Cortex). Hope that helps?!
Great comparison and very useful. Thanks for your work. I never heard of the threeway. It has the widest and smoothest sound. Its very expensive. I could not find any other demo on youtube. I have a small and a big rack. In the small rack I use the neuaber inspire trichorus. It sounds a little bit better for me than the eventide tricera trichorus. In my big rack I use the digitech nautila chorus. It's not a trichorus but an 8-voice chorus. I never heard a wider chorus than this pedal. I tried to add the eventide pitch (H9 max) in parallel (of course) but it doesn't get better. The nautila is enough. For the sake of transparency it's important to add the detune in parallel to the chorus. Otherwise it's too wooshi.
@NikolausBrocke Thanks so much! Appreciate you taking the time to share all that! Yeah the Threeway is made by a friend of mine here in Nashville I met when looking for tri-stereo chorus pedals way back before the pandemic. I love the way it sounds as well! As far as the Inspire, I agree it’s amazing sounding and wish I had obtained one for the shootout for sure. And yeah in this demo which I used my home studio board for and in my own live rack I use for church, all my effects are run parallel to my dry signal and agree for clarity it’s the only way to go! I love not worrying about the output level of one impacting the input of the next more than anything and quite frankly just not a fan of my delay trails for instance having reverb on them - I just think it sounds cleaner but there’s always the case for reverb having modulation on it but my verbs typically allow you to add modulation if you want but that’s another entire rabbit hole 😂 . One thing I want to do in another video is show the choruses in the Eclipse since you mentioned the multi-voice chorusing because the Eclipse has amazing sounding multi-voice chorusing as well as the micro-pitch being WAY more lush than the one on the H9 or H90. For whatever reason it’s REALLY wide and thick and much more so than the others and I wish I had incorporated that into the last video but I was pressed for time as always. I also just got a used Dimension D pedal - the wazacraft Boss one so I’ll do something with that in a Huff centric way I’m sure. Anyway, thanks for all that info and appreciate your kind words and support my friend!
@@stiansveen Hey brother you’re welcome! Glad you liked it! I am just using a couple RJM products at the moment which are the Micro Line Mixer and the Mastermind GT-22. I did used to have the Mini Effects Gizmo but not the “X” version which the only main difference is that the “X” has stereo capable loops and the one I had was just mono but I sold that a while back. The micro Line Mixer is being used on my pedalboard to basically allow me to run all the “wet” fx (anything not overdrive, compression or gain / preamp related) in parallel so I can keep all those signal paths of those devices unaffected by any of the other wet effects in use which provides (in my opinion) more clarity and more stable level control where I don’t have to worry about the level of the delay hitting the reverb too hard and clipping it or whatever. Hope that helps!
Awesome, thanks a bunch! How do you go out from the micro mixer? Do you use the dry out at all, and go wet/dry/wet, or do you go stereo from the wet out? Just stereo? Wet/dry..? Thanks again😅
@@stiansveen No problem! I usually just go out stereo from the wet output but the wet output also has the dry output mixed in. You can turn off the dry mix (set dry level control to zero/off) and then dry out of the physical dry output for wet / dry / wet but I only have 2 amps so I would need a 3rd amp to run wet/dry/wet technically. I can run wet out into my two FR/FRs and run the dry out to one amp which would work but it would sound better if I had a 3rd amp. I can also sum the wet output (with the dry mix level off) to mono and run mono wet fx into one amp and run out the dry output to the 2nd amp and run wet/dry as well. I have a DI box that has a sum button that I have had to use for live for PA’s which aren’t running in stereo so that my delays translate correctly. For me I just enjoy running stereo whether it be direct or into my 2 amps which is impractical enough without adding a 3rd amp 😂 but it sounds so good in the room it’s a lot of fun.
@@vaisatchatrucci thats great, thank you!! If you’re using the micro mixer standalone for the stereo setup, do you have to go through the dry first, and then back into wet inputs and then wet out..? So you’d have to use a split after the dry out for a potential wet/dry/wet? Tryna wrap my basic analog mono head around all this😅
@@stiansveen Believe me it took me days to wrap my head around it too so don’t feel bad! So basically I am running a y-splitter after the last “dry” effect with each split going into a JHS splitter which gives me 4 “dry” outputs to feed the wet effect inputs. If you just have one wet effect like an H9 or H90 or something you can go out of the dry output on the RJM Micro line mixer and feed that into the input of the H9/H90 as an example but since I needed at least 3 dry signals I chose to go the JHS buffered splitter route and it works great. They are underneath the board and out of the way. The bottom of the board is a hot mess and hidden thankfully cause frankly the cable management is quite embarrassing LOL 😂
What power supply are you using for this demo (specifically for the New Wave)? It seems like a lot of people that really like the New Wave are using a Cioks supply, while a lot of people that find it underwhelming/noisy are using a Zuma with a voltage doubler.
@@joelgreenhow8702 I am using a Gator BUS 8 power supply and using one of the available 18v ports. I used the 18v on the Zuma as well and it worked fine for me as well. I didn’t notice any noise personally but the odd power requirement is definitely a little bit annoying for the New Wave.
@GerryBlue - it’s a great sounding pedal - just be aware the power requirements are a little weird. I believe it needs 18v and it’s picky about which one from my experience. Others have complained about it but I still highly recommend it because it sounds so wonderful.
@BorisBidjanSaberi11 I honestly have not played lace sensors recently enough but I would think if memory serves they would definitely sound good. The key to my guitars sound in this video is the parallel / series options and has less to do with the actual pickups themselves though I absolutely love these pickups in any configuration.
@m0j0b0ne Thanks for the suggestions! The keeley was considered but it’s mono and it sounds great but I’m only interested in stereo choruses so I passed on that. I also found it a bit thin for my taste. As far as the Neunaber, it’s most definitely a contender and right in the mix with the rest for sure, I just didn’t have an opportunity to snag one for this video unfortunately. Thanks again for the tip though so others can check it out!
I play in an 80’s New wave/post punk band. I own the Eventide Tricerachorus. Not the H9. Its a great sounding pedal but its just a bit too menu divey for my ADD brain. I now just use a Boss Ce2w for my chorus sounds. That NewWave pedal sounds nice, though.
@@SignificanceOfThePassageOfTime I definitely feel you on the menu diving and that’s the reason I tried putting together a board with just all knob driven pedals though I still wound up going with an H9 😆 ugh! But yeah the New Wave is a fun great sounding pedal too! Haven’t tried the CE2W but always a fan of Boss Choruses so I’m sure it sounds great!
So to get a the best sound for as least as possible, would getting en Eventide MicroPitch pedal and the Tri Avatar work well? Or the Eventide H9 Max would be as good and just need 1 pedal instead of 2
And since I only have an American Start Pro 2, is the parallel - boost switch option easily installed on a regular start? I will eventually buy a guitar like yours, but can't right away
@@marcfrenette1599 You can get the lush 80’s / Landau / Huff vibe without the Dimension D and just go with the Micro Pitch and Tri-Avatar (make sure it’s the TA-2) but it definitely is nice at the end of the chain.
@@marcfrenette1599 I would say bang for your buck, if you can get a used H9 (for usually around $300-$350) then I’d just grab one of those. The Tricerachorus algorithm is excellent by itself and you wouldn’t have to get the Tri-Avatar to cop those tones. Plus then you have all the other killer sounds you can get with the H9. I might even argue you could get 2 used H9’s and rule the world for $600. OR go for it and just get a used H90 which you’ll start seeing used when the new Fractal effects unit comes out soon and everyone decides to jump on that bandwagon. 😂 Not to say I won’t be one of them! 😆
@@marcfrenette1599 I wish I had an answer on this for you but I’m totally ignorant to installation or wiring of this type of config. Any local guitar shop by you should have a tech that can hook you up though. I can’t imagine it’s difficult but I’m also horrible with a soldering iron so I’ve never attempted anything beyond just replacing pickups.
@olsza6969 Avatar 2H has ability to store 124 more presets than the 1H and also uses supposedly better AD/DA converters. The 2H has a more versatile tone control vs the hi-cut that the 1H has. Lastly, the mix control on the 1H is just up to 50% whereas the mix control on the 2H is capable of 100% wet mix. So to me personally, the 2H is the one I would choose. Hope that helps!
@@NikolausBrocke Actually the time stamps I think are fine it’s the “rapid fire” part where I stupidly demo a sound and then say what pedal it WAS that I just played and start playing the next pedal which makes it seem like it’s out of order. That was just me being dumb not saying “Threeway” THEN playing the Threeway but instead I play the Threeway, say “Threeway” and then move to next pedal… I’m a dummy basically 😂 and it’s definitely confusion so sorry about that!!!
I want to learn how to play the chords and general style showcased in this video. What would I search for this style? Is it 80s JazzFusion style or something?
@matttaylor1449 I would say start by searching for the discographies of Steve Lukather, Michael Landau and Dann Huff and you’ll be able to find tracks you like and learn a wealth of those 80’s clean chords and riffs just from those.
I’m running my Takanine acoustic into a rotten banana and then I mult that into a radio shack boom box and a Remington ball shaver that I’ve modded with germanium tipped blades and that conjures the ghost of Elliott Randall, who plays my riffs for me. JK Andrew! The algorithm teed this video up for me because I was looking for classic chorus boxes. Good to see you bud! Let’s grab lunch soon and catch up!! Ps I LOVE that guitar!!
@EssKay25 ROTFLMAO! Scott! Whassssssssssuuupppp!?!?!?!? Bro! Hope this finds you well buddy and yes ABSOLUTELY let’s catch up! Great hearing from you my friend!
@soakinindeep The main one is Michael Landaus “I’m buzzed” from his “Tales from the Bulge” album. It’s amazing and uses that tri-stereo micro pitched clean tone though I believe his tone there may actually be more direct to console vs through an amp but man it sounds so amazing. Some of the other riffs are from a song by Richard Marx “Endless Summer Nights” and one intro clean riff to a song by Steve Perry from his first solo record called “You Should Be Happy” and lastly one clean version of a dirtier riff by Dann Huff from Peter Cetera’s “Glory Of Love” which I probably butcher but similar vibe though he uses a Dimension D chorus on that in addition to the Tri-stereo chorus for his clean tones mostly.
@mjsthx1138 In this video it’s running in parallel with chorus but ideally should be running in series after the chorus to have even more impact I think. I’ll also say this, the micro-pitch on the Eclipse is WAYYYYY more intense and I wish I had done that in hind-sight even when running in parallel. The Eclipses micro-pitch sounds SO freaking good. I used it this weekend in my rack rig and it’s so much more pronounced than the H9’s algorithm.
@@vaisatchatrucci My experience is, that it sounds best if the detune is added in parallel. It's much more defined and has a wider sound stage. That's probably the reason why the tricera chorus (which is a tri chorus plus the detune option) doesn't sound so good, because the detune is added in series.
New Wave sounds closest to the original by a long shot in this video. You can swap between the clips and its almost indecipherable. But i can aee why most people favor the triavatar. It just sounds more modern and glassy. but not as authentic.
@@JerryPrivia-tu9kb I love the New Wave too… I’m a sucker for all of them! They all have something different to bring to the table it’s impossible for me to choose a favorite!
@@vaisatchatrucci Yeah they're all awesome my board is basically just a maxon comp into a bunch of trichorus... I dont play guitar. I play the trichorus. I am surprised that the threeway (the closest to cs5/terc circuit) sounded the most different in this video. It almost sounded like you kicked on an extra reverb and like one lfo was dominating the others.
@n0nyabznss I’m impressed you made it that far! 😂 Thank you! Yes of course, I am saying that instead of using the mics/cabs on the Eleven Rack which I think a decade later is the weakest link, I am going to (in theory-remains to be seen) show how great the Eleven Rack still sounds both using IR’s instead of the built in cabs as well as how good it sounds using the Universal Audio OX Stomp for the cabs. The reason I say that is the models to me always sounded really great and I think they still hold up to this day but we’ll see!!!
Honey for the ears. Even without chorus, his guitar sounds the same as with chorus. 😊
@lpv1984 I thought the same thing when I first played that guitar - it’s amazing how much the pickups and parallel / series switching plays a part in that tone

LOL

Free the Tone for the win! Although the Neunaber Inspire tri-chorus was conspicuously missing from this shootout 🤔
@enickma it wasn’t a conspiracy I promise - it’s cause I was BROKE after buying all these damn things 😂
Was the micropitch before or after the Tricerachorus? Great video by the way. Thanks
@@moacyrcalheiros6141 Thanks so much! The micropitch was running in parallel using the RJM micro line mixer.

@masamune9082 Hey! Sure can! That would be fun - I’m going to be doing a pedalboard demo soon and will work a Tyler demo in there as well for ya.
I love these tones ❤ l do wish ya could have demoed an Eventide Tricerachorus. The green pedal.
He did @20:00
@markinthemix6055 Yeah I couldn’t get my hands on one and needed to get the ones I’m not keeping sold to pay for some other gear so I had to strike while the iron was hot as they say just to get this done with what I had to shoot out.

@@youvsyou945 great to know! Thanks for taking the time to share that info!
The sound of AOR DREAMS.
@fernandes5986 Indeed!
Could you elaborate more on the pickup selection, is that magic position from the pickups switching to parallel and which to 2 pickups are they?
Im running an Arion into a boss PS6 on detune mode. Sounds good. Saving for a Triavatar

@@lancethompson218 Signal chain displayed on screen around 2:10 mark.
@@vaisatchatrucci Thanks for the info- Excellent playing too!
@@Lonnie-B1 No problem brother! Thanks so much 🙏 Appreciate that!
Thanks for this! Could you detail the RJM stuff you’re using? Is it the Micro Line Mixer? Aaand possibly the Mini Effects Gizmo X..? Thanks a bunch!

@BorisBidjanSaberi11 I honestly have not played lace sensors recently enough but I would think if memory serves they would definitely sound good. The key to my guitars sound in this video is the parallel / series options and has less to do with the actual pickups themselves though I absolutely
love these pickups in any configuration.
Keeley's Dyno My Roto? Neunaber built the ultimate tri-chorus, imo; check it out.
@m0j0b0ne Thanks for the suggestions! The keeley was considered but it’s mono and it sounds great but I’m only interested in stereo choruses so I passed on that.

And since I only have an American Start Pro 2, is the parallel - boost switch option easily installed on a regular start? I will eventually buy a guitar like yours, but can't right away
Oh and in Vertex video with Dan Huff he said he used the Dimension D and the a trichorus. Should a Boss Dimension D be used too, or it's not needed
I can’t imagine it’s difficult but I’m also horrible with a soldering iron so I’ve never attempted anything beyond just replacing pickups.
what your thoughts about difference between avatar 1H and 2H?
@olsza6969 Avatar 2H has ability to store 124 more presets than the 1H and also uses supposedly better AD/DA converters. The 2H has a more versatile tone control vs the hi-cut that the 1H has. Lastly, the mix control on the 1H is just up to 50% whereas the mix control on the 2H is capable of 100% wet mix. So to me personally, the 2H is the one I would choose. Hope that helps!
The time stamps have shifted at the end. If you jump to the time stamps you hear the wrong demo.
@@NikolausBrocke thanks I’ll check em out and try to fix them!
I’m not very knowledgeable of this stuff, but I recognize a riff or two from the Michael Landau album Tales From The Bulge.
@@Mike-nb8ot You nailed it! “I’m Buzzed” is the main riff(s) I like to play with these 80’s tones
@EssKay25 And I was instructed to inform you to “Suck it Kozicki” by a mutual acquaintance. 😂
@@vaisatchatrucci I’m assuming he relayed this message from prison.
@EssKay25 No but close, his mom has had him on house arrest for 17 years
Whats is the name the song you’re riffing?
@soakinindeep The main one is Michael Landaus “I’m buzzed” from his “Tales from the Bulge” album. It’s amazing and uses that tri-stereo micro pitched clean tone though I believe his tone there may actually be more direct to console vs through an amp but man it sounds so amazing. Some of the other riffs are from a song by Richard Marx “Endless Summer Nights” and one intro clean riff to a song by Steve Perry from his first solo record called “You Should Be Happy” and lastly one clean version of a dirtier riff by Dann Huff from Peter Cetera’s “Glory Of Love” which I probably butcher but similar vibe though he uses a Dimension D chorus on that in addition to the Tri-stereo chorus for his clean tones mostly.
are you running the micro pitch before or after the chorus?
@@NikolausBrocke makes total sense - when I use the detune on the Eclipse it’s much more pronounced and sounds much better.
FTT tri chorus for the sound and price. Not far off from the TERC
@duck2587 Agree!
@@JerryPrivia-tu9kb Love it! 😂
why do you lick your finger?
@@Delayshop 😂 it’s a habit like a quarterback does - it’s to keep a grip on my pick… I hate it but I can’t stop! 😂
Very intrigued by your Eleven Rack comment. Can you elaborate?
@n0nyabznss I’m impressed you made it that far! 😂 Thank you! Yes of course, I am saying that instead of using the mics/cabs on the Eleven Rack which I think a decade later is the weakest link, I am going to (in theory-remains to be seen) show how great the Eleven Rack still sounds both using IR’s instead of the built in cabs as well as how good it sounds using the Universal Audio OX Stomp for the cabs. The reason I say that is the models to me always sounded really great and I think they still hold up to this day but we’ll see!!!
@@vaisatchatrucci I totally agree and I still enjoy watching the video you made with your 11R getting those nice clean tones and U2 style delays :-)
@n0nyabznss Aw man thanks!!! Those were the good ‘ol days for sure! Seems like an eternity ago! Time has passed SO quickly it’s insane!
