  • In this video, we restore the finish of this 1983 Porsche SC Cabriolet. After producing no convertibles for 18 years, Porsche launched the 911 SC Cabrio in the spring 1983. The top made extensive use of metal plates and fixed components to maintain rigidity at high speeds and offer some rollover protection. When first offered to North America, Road & Track listed a price of $34,450. We protect this beauty with our Blue Collar Line of protectants and coatings.

Question....Would you rather restore troubled original paint....or re-spray to perfection?

Would try to restore but wouldn’t mind a re-spray to perfectection 😂 and then keep clean 🧼.

I personally watch your channel to learn and sharpen skills in paint correction. I'm not really interested in respraying, but I'm not opposed to it. I'm thinking about all of the new tools I could buy if that were the case. Anyhow, thanks for sharing this one. That's one hell of a turnaround for that car. Great job, to all three of you. I enjoyed the last video, which highlighted Megs 9. Mostly because it went back to paint correction, and we aren't seeing those vids that much these days. Mainly because of all the new products hitting the market. You test them thoroughly enough for the short amount of time you have. Thanks, Brian!

This is such a coincidence :)
I am in the middle of trying to save a hood to my old red Corolla from 1988 with single stage paint. I have made som modifications to it so I picked up a heavily oxidated hood in the same color as the car. I thought I might give it a try to save the paint on it, if possible.
Your vids have showed me that wet sanding is not as scary as it might seem and I have tried it a few times. I thought I give it a try on this oxidated paint and it worked out really good.
I used rupes yellow wool pad for the middle stage and did a test spot using LVR 403 and a soft foam pad, last night for the final stage. It will come out just fine, even if some of the ols damages are not possible to correct.
And then this morning (I live in northern Europe) this video comes up.
Thank you, Brian, for all the knowledge you are sharing!

single stage paint , polish with Acrylic, then coat!! i never used a coating on single stage, ..make sense to lay down a base so it doesn't get absorb all the way in the paint!! your the Best Brian !! ThankYou

Bri , I applied some bc3 on a fender of a neighbors car as a sample after he saw my car. The humidity in my garage here in the South was at 72%. I noticed BC3 got just a bit tacky but still removable. Garage temp was 95 degrees. Fender came out great. He liked what he saw. Sold him on the idea. I decided to do the car when the temps and humidity drop. Haste makes waste. Too freaking hot. Didn’t want to use a fan as it would just blow air particles around. Need to order some more. Btw, that Porsche came out great . Thanks for the additional pointers on single stage paint.

The Porsche came out incredible ! The white really popped at the end. I wanted to ask if that cone attachment used for under the door handle was just an accessory you can attach to your polisher ? I had seen ones like that but you need to attach to a rotary but never saw the one used in the video, good stuff. Thanks again for another great video.

Why did you switch from the Buff/Shine pad to a Green foam Pad? After you use the Glaze, do you Panel Prep before coating?

I’m confused, before you said it wasn’t necessary to use an expensive Rupes polisher, you asked what guys used and I said buy cheap you buy twice so that’s why I bought a Rupes. Why use a Rupes when you could use a Walmart off brand?
