fun fact- gen 3 applejack was red with green hair and a single apple half cutiemark. so they did experiment with her, but the classic design returned due to Lauren Faust growing up with gen 1-2!
thank you for including the needle issues (and other moments where you aren't completely satisfied w your work) in your videos. it's so nice to see the whole process and see you work thru problems as you are crafting. i've found it's easy to give up on projects when i make mistakes or am not happy with my work but you posting these videos mistakes and all makes your results (which are always excellent!!) feel that much more achievable and impressive. :)
Oh how I wish more people could transform the endless piles of stuff people throw away back to something beautiful or useful again. You did such a wonderful job on this little pony and I’m sure someone will be delighted with it!
Applejack looks lovely, and I'm pretty impressed with how the paint pens behaved! Just as a suggestion for tighter hair curls, you might try dipping it in ice water after the boiling water. I haven't heard you mention ice water before, so I wasn't sure if it was part of your styling routine. I've used it before with nylon hair and it will hold a curl pretty well even after just a regular overnight dry time.
personally I feel like the volumptuous hair is almost a part of your style! I think it helps to make the pony look individual from what it would have been out of the box. it has more love, more flaire, and I honestly think it's really charming.
I absolutely loved Applejack growing up. So much so that when I got my first horse a few years ago I actually named her after that beloved pony. You did such an amazing job restoring her to her former glory.
It’s so heartwarming just how much love and care and kindness you put into these restorations! Like it’s kind of a small thing but it always touches my heart when you warn us that the pony’s head will be coming off.
Makes me so excited when I see a new video come up!! Love to see the transformation, thanks for all the hard work you do to bring us such great videos!!
She looks fantastic! Great job! When paintbrushes are brand new you should always wash out the starch they add to the bristles to keep them pointy in transport. Otherwise you get starch or whatever in your paint, which might cause problems.
Applejack my beloved! I love how she came out, she's perfect 💕Her hair looks so good (and it's also my favorite part of the process to watch!) she is slaying!! ✨
So glad to watch another video from you. Great idea with using the paint pens, I honestly forget they even exist and it’d be a good option to have. I always find small details very hard with paint brushes but you’re amazing at it
Applejack was the second pony I ever got and to this day is still my favorite ❤ My mother carelessly tossed all my original ponies I collected from when they first released them, even my beloved Applejack… Years ago, I went on eBay and spent a small fortune building my collection again (until they came out with the rereleases of the ones I couldn’t find). Applejack was the first I went searching for… This is an odd variant compared to what we had in the US. Her pose, color and eye color are off, but it still made me so sad to see her in that state. By the end, I felt so happy to see her in her beautiful state once again! ❤
Just some advice regarding cleaning ponies with Vanish (just in case you don't already know!), don't use it to clean ponies with glittery symbols, jewel eyes, "metal" attachments, etc as it will strip the finish right off them. Also, i don't know if it's just me, but i found it reacted slightly with the plastic of some ponies (mainly blues and greens) and made it kind of textured(?) if i left them soaking in it for too long. Just something to keep in mind in case you have any special/rare ponies!
If you’re not a fan of cleaning your palettes, you can try using a glossy white tile for bathrooms/kitchens. Acrylic paints generally peel right off after they dry (a thin piece of plastic will scrape up any stubborn spots).
I just got my first rehairing tool and have had issues with it being too loose too! Glad to know I'm not the only one. I'll try tightening with a tool like you did. Thanks so much for all your hard work! Applejack looks great
Your nails are so cute! My favourite part of your videos is the painting. It’s so nice to watch, you’re so good at the tiny details. Lovely restoration as always ☺️🍎
I restore dolls and something I’ve come across is using baking soda mixed with a little bit of water to scrub with! It makes the surface feel brand new and removes difficult grime.
squeee!!! i love it !!! Applejack was my first ever pony (in 1984) and I still have her :) she is in the shy pose though and her baby was my first baby pony :) and this reincarnation is a really nice one would love to have one like it ! (I can remember my "firsts" of each of the ponies, mountain boys, twinkle eye, twice as fancy, flutter etc)
so nice seeing your videos again!! i sleep to them sometimes and they were a big comfort during my first move out of home B:) very exciting to see you around !!! i hope youre doing well, the restoration is beautiful!!
I really like this pony, the stitches look so nice. It's the perfect mix of creepy and cute and the essence of a G1 pony is really preserved, I think. At least, until the lashes aha. Because there's no tail, I think the stiffness of the acrylic hair actually really works to make it more Sally-like. The lashes might have been a bit cuter if they were more curled? Seeing how well the green stuff works for fabric and how it flows, I would love to see you make a frilly dress. A old school gothic lolita pony would be sooo cute ;_; Something like old Metamorphose or Moi-même Moitié would look great. I also personally love the shoes you did, it's partially what made me think of this
First time watching one of your videos and I'm already subscribed! Your working process looks so fun (at least for us watching haha). Thanks for posting :)
I buy the hair from a UK company called The Doll Hair Emporium (the UK has Shimmer Locks, also great). In case you want to try 😊 (hair extensions are also a good way to get lots of colours for cheap!)
Just judging by your hands you have that kind of skin color that can go with any color and I'm just a little jealous 😂 Also I kinda love the g1 models, I'm not really a mlp person but they're just kinda adorably goofy to me
You did an amazing job restoring it! I love watching your videos; they’re so relaxing to watch. Please keep up the wonderful work! I bet so many toys are out there hoping to catch your eyes and getting beautifully restored ;) (Though I did kind of weirdly like the aesthetic of a toy depicting a bald animal with human flesh skin tone 😂)
I've seen in doll restoration videos that you can do one boilwash and then put the doll (pony) in the freezer with the curlers still on to get tight curls. Maybe that works. Saludos de Argentina!
For tighter curls, I recommend using something thinner. I used chopsticks on my ponies and got great ringlets. Unfortunately I relocated a few months ago and decided to give all my ponies away 😭
She looks so good! The cutie marks look incredible! She's probably much happier now! 🎉 Always so excited to see you post! And also I'm obsessed with the hair! I love when they have a ton of curly/braided/etc hair.

I just got her on ebay. She just needs a wash. She's the long haired version so I'm going to curl her mane and tail. She was the one i remember from my childhood.
Applejack's design hasn't changed over the years
That just shows how perfect of a pony she is
