Sean Fagan’s story @themuaythaiguy is one close to my heart. ⁣

Sean’s journey was very difficult at times, I saw it first hand. Most people would’ve given up when going through years of not making money and having critics waiting to see a fall at every turn. ⁣

He had these nagging voices in his head telling him to give up every time a big challenge came. ⁣

But through believing in himself and changing his environment, he pushed through.⁣

We all have these voices that tell us that we’re not good enough, smart enough, or capable enough. ⁣

Sometimes, the voices come from strangers. Sometimes, these voices come from the people closest to us, and if we’re not careful, our dreams will never realize because of it. We start believing in things that aren’t true, internalizing these voices.⁣

We start to feel small, because others felt small. Our vision starts to become a distorted reality of what isn’t possible. ⁣

With these voices, we may never even begin to dream a dream. It’s a self-fulfilling prophecy.⁣

At a time where no one in my life believed in my work, Sean reached out to help… just when I was about to give up. The voices of doubt has only lessened ever since, and belief has only grown ever stronger. ⁣

Thank you Sean. Seeing your progress and success today makes me so happy. Wouldn’t be here without you. ⁣

I hope that Sean’s story encourages you to dream, to celebrate and support the successes around you, to allow the vision of others to believe in your own visions. ⁣

Treasure the ones that believe in you. ⁣

Not just progression in Muay Thai, but overcoming fear of failure and continuing to push toward your dreams. Nice job, as always, Lawrence. And mad respect to Sean Fagan. Wish him all the continued success he can achieve.

I didn't know Sean had this kind of story. It's unreal how true his "give good karma, receive good karma" statement because I started the day sending job posts to my friends and ended up with an unexpected job offer (and to watching this video).
I agree with everything you said, Sean. A lot of people want big goals but don't start. If they do, some are only eager at the start. Being consistent is hard as every day is not a good day but sometimes it takes a couple of months or years to have the one good year of your life.

The Muay Thai guy was and still is a key proponent to my Muay Thai journey. During the pandemic in early 2020 I religiously followed his videos that were broken down methodically so that technique was really understood and adhered to. His workouts also incorporated HIIT elements so you would inevitably get fitter while getting agile. I joined a Muay Thai gym a month ago finally (sep 2021) and thanks to Sean, I tested quickly and did not have to go through any beginner sessions separately. I just joined the class. I’m not a fighter. Just a dad with two baby girls learning and loving the martial arts life for fitness, self defense and discipline.
You too Lawrence. Your breakdowns and videos are just essential to anyone who want to live the life of a martial artist and learn a thing or two from the greats.
    Thank you.

Greetings! I wanted to know about CTE Muay thai compared to other contact sports is it a bit safer for the brain considering that it relies more than other sports on kicks to the body and the kicks to the head are less frequent and come from lighter weight fighters? If we were to compare the percentage of blows to the head in a career as a muay thai fighter compared to a career in mma or kickboxing can we say that if you practice muy thai you are more protected? (seeing many fighters who have over 300 kicks and are in their 60's and are very mentally fit). Thank you very much!I ask because I have a 7 year old boy who wants to do contact sports and we are looking for sports that have less impact on the brain.

    • @serafimciobanu3021
      @serafimciobanu3021 ปีที่แล้ว

Seeing that in muay thai there are many fighters with more than 300 matches and reaching 60 years of age are mentally well

If anyone else has a similar journey to mine NEVER STOP EVEN WHEN YOU REACH YOUR GOALS! Basically I went from getting beaten up by friends in a garage to training muay Thai and eventually I'll have my own gym.many people tell me to find a better outlet and better money but I might not have been born into muay Thai but I was born for it and nothing else in my life will make me a better human through and though and nothing else will positively change my environment as well as contribute to society the way muay Thai will for me.If you found what makes you alive don't let anyone tell you you suck because everyone does at something focus on the bigger picture. If your reading this YOU ARE THE CHAMPION and your biggest obstacle is yourself. Can you beat yourself? If you've made it this far accept the fact that you will win but not before you endure faulre.YOU ARE THE CHAMPION! STAY HARD

21 years active duty military service as my guide...discipline, will power, endurance and tolerance of both mental and physical pain in people like Sean Fagan is not normal. He/they are not normal. This is why we are not all elite athletes or Special Forces Soldiers. Sure, we can all find these qualities over time but few can manifest these qualities all at once, right now, directed at one specific task. Mediocrity is normal in modern society so lifting yourself above that is both not normal and not easy.
