- A fun video experiment starring the competitive Pokemon player Jimothy Cool.
I wanted to make a video like this a long time ago and tried to get a top ranked VGC player named trace on board but then the audio file got corrupted and I kept forgetting and in the meantime, I started interacting with Jimothy's content. So if you come across this video trace, sorry your episode didn't work out.
Hope you guys enjoy listening to me stutter.
Not only is it entertaining seeing a Pokemon master try to understand Yo-Kai Watch, it’s also a cool way for someone like me (i.e. someone who’s only now starting to get back into the franchise, having loved it in the past) to learn more about this aspect of the series. I hope there’s going to be a part 2 of this sometime soon

I found this really interesting. I’d love to see a part 2. I adore the series, and don’t know much about the competitive scene. So it was really fun to learn more.
Not only did you introduce someone to Yo-kai Watch, not only did you show some of the cool Yo-kai, not only did you make an entertaining video, you also convinced someone to at least think about joining the community. Great job! 👍

i seem to have a habit of making the "useless" characters in games ridiculously overpowered
playing ykw on citra is actually pretty alright. Ive played both 3ds and citra and citra isnt really much harder.

But where do you look for competitive Yokai Watch (what’s the Yokai Watch equivalent to Smogon?)
There isn't one, sadly. I've mostly been learning from watching a large number of JP Competitive YKW TH-camrs that play high ladder of YKW2 and YKW3 online and saving it all to a playlist.

@@RobotPlush Enduriphant is a weird case. Despite how its A Rank SHOULD make it easier to work with, Machonyan is arguably better cuz of Brave Tribe Unity. Then you have Fitwit whom has the same Skill but better on top of absolutely monstrous HP and Defense despite being an S Rank commitment. Machonyan and Fitwit also have offensive Soultimates with good tile placement. Add to the fact Decidevible, Komanubis, Benzaiten, El Sharkador and Ancient Enma put a stop to Enduriphant. You could probably do something stally with him and Fukurokuju but it's really gimmicky.

I used to be really big into yokai watch when I was younger, and the series still holds a special place in my heart, so learning that there’s a competitive scene is a massive shock to me, definitely gonna check it out
I got most of them right and I'm proud of that hope part 2 will happen soon

My guesses:
Bison Burly- Unviable (not bc of his s rank, but because he has too many all stats up buffs)
Draaagin- Viable (bc of your comment on intercactus’ draaagin and lie-in heart video)
Moolinda- Unviable (skill is situational, and the s rank takes up a slot)
Nird- Viable (he has a built in sinister soul so he can take something else, although his soultimate range doesn’t allow for much baiting)
Righteous Zazel- Viable (I use him in main game and Blasters T all the time, and if you give him an Ake soul, that preemptive triple crit will do even more damage. wish his spirit was better tho so he could actually heal)
Slippup- Viable (being able to make allies have even shorter move timers is great, not to mention the strength reducing ice hazard in soultimate)
Sonic Bam- Unviable (takes up an s rank slot, and his spirit sucks for a healer. at least righteous zazel is a good dps. sonic bam isn’t.
not to mention that anyone with the skill “pair of heals” has a weaker healing technique than those w/o it.)
Terrorpotta- Viable (yes his skill affects your team, but it affects the enemies too. it’s amazingly good.)
Verygoodsir- Unviable (that skill used to be good in 2, where it activates when the user is next to any yo kai, but in this game it only activates when the user is linked to any yo kai, which is a waste of his wait time of 5)
Whisper- Viable (very prevalent on crit teams bc of skill even tho it affects your side, and his 30% defense debuffs are too good to pass up; though he’ll probably just stay subbed)
edit: i play ykw3 a lot, but wanted to see if i could guess the viability since i haven’t seen some of these guys yet
My guesses during this video
Bison Burly: Viable - I know that the S rank slot is competitive but an Omni boost would need to be really slight to not be viable.
Draaagin: Unviable - I have a hard time believing that worse truant could ever be viable.
Moolinda: Viable - Even better looking than Bison Burly, but it’s also sounding like the s slot is even tougher than I thought.
Nird: Unviable - The only thing that I see that could make him worth using is lowered healing and I don’t think it’s that useful.
RGT. Zazel: Viable - At this point, I’m guessing that every s rank is viable until I’m right and have a frame of reference. Also just seems fantastic.
Slippup: Viable - lots of very useful abilities, especially for an e rank.
Sonic Bam: Unviable - Rampardos theorem. One really big stat cannot make up for the rest. Also s rank.
Terrorpotta: Unviable - This was the hardest one for me to decide on. The skill and equip slots sound really good but the rest seem too weak to pull him through.
Verygoodsir: Unviable - I feel like a healer in this game would need to be able to provide more than just healing.
Whisper: Viable - A king among Yo-kai, all who may fight him shall fall to their knees and beg. (This was a joke but apparently I’m right.)

Hello i like your video but i need your help to find a certain event was scard me when i'm younger, in the infinite tunnel you can find a wird dancer of the name to Hyottoko Trio and you have a change to transform into them with an animation, and this animation scared me. So if you have the time can you give the animation because i can find nothing.

Are you talking about the Hyottoko Dancers from the Infinite Tunnel and Hazy Lane? I think some other people uploaded that event.
