    I wonder if the hybrid will live up to the joke a mechanic friend of mine has about Range Rovers: “Range Rover…turning drivers into mechanics for 70 years.” Great channel, Sarah. “Give it the beans…on toast…it’s British.” Priceless!

      Everything is expensive to fix too. Just looking at the suspension on this one, I just see thousands of dollars to keep that thing on the road in a few years.

    Fantastic review Sarah.
    Your last few minutes of comments regarding how a lot of people ( don’t ) properly maintain these vehicles etc, is absolutely spot on.
    If u maintain these properly and some TLC, they do keep chugging along for many years.
    As u said, after driving it for a week, u do realise the appeal of a RR.
    They r an extraordinarily special vehicle.
    The command driving position & comfort etc are top class.
    👍

    I rented a Range Rover in Orange County this spring and absolutely loved it. It was the nicest car I've ever driven and I wouldn't mind being stuck in traffic in one of those. Don't think I can own one given the number of miles I drive, but I'm a huge fan.

    A likely reason for the towing capacity being so specific is that in the UK we can tow a trailer with a maximum weight of exactly that 3,500kg rating with a regular car license. I suspect it could easily tow more but I guess Jaguar Land Rover didn't bother rating it any higher due to the license limit... and they forgot that other countries exist.

    • @bradhaines3142
      @bradhaines3142 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      also hybrid drive trains arent usually designed for heavy towing. battery cooling becomes a concern

    • @Michael_Schm
      @Michael_Schm ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I think it's for most of Europe actually. I know 3500kg is a limit in Denmark aswell.

    • @bradhaines3142
      @bradhaines3142 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@johnt.848 that thing has 6 piston calipers and some huge rotors, anything too big needs its own brakes anyway. slowing down the weight isnt the problem with that. theres always a transmission limit or cooling issue. not brakes.
      i mean just look at any semi, fully loaded their stopping distance is like half a mile. brakes arent that big of a concern with towing, its only frame and drivetrain capacity that limits the ratings.

    • @PiDsPagePrototypes
      @PiDsPagePrototypes ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@rollietrayte1332Can see, you've not met the kind of people that play Polo and race horses. Horse float plus two horses plus gear and it's real close to 3500kilos.
      The folks that own race horses, they'll have the Float towed behind a big Ram, Ford or Chevy pickup with dually rear end. The advantage of the Rangie over those, is the shorter wheelbase for getting car and trailer around smaller laneways and the like that access the stables.

    • @indiebekonn
      @indiebekonn ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Zzrdemon6633for anything over 3500kg you need electric or more likely pneumatic brakes on a trailer plus a C1/C+E licence. As it should be, because mass of 7t+ combined is no joke.

    Really enjoyed this review! The RR has always been an ‘iconic’ vehicle ever since it was introduced in the early ‘70s, (with a Buick derived 3.5 litre V8). You’re totally right in describing it as a luxury car, you see a lot of them in central London where the opportunities for off-roading are kind of limited. And sorry to sound dreary but they have become very large (for UK roads) and super expensive. But what a fabulous interior though. Glad you enjoyed it!

    I started watching these because Sarah’s a funny human but this review is properly excellent.
    The review of the switchgear was hugely informative. Those multi function rotary switches are brilliant and soooooo much better than shoving everything on a screen you stare at as you collide with the car in front when trying to turn up the a/c. Motor manufacturers should stop that crap, it’s dangerous.

    Happy Tuesday Sarah!!!
    Wow! That thing has features on top of features, featuring more features!!😁
    You're right though, see them in junkyards or in backlots or in front yards in sketch parts of town looking abandoned and air suspension pancaked, a lot of times it's the last owners that got suckered into buying them from those used car lots with the "AS IS/ NO WARRANTY" stickers in the window, so when they break expensively, yard ornament it is.
    Great review as per always.

    Another great review, Sarah. One of my favorite parts of your reviews is the bolstering test. Keep doing that. Although this vehicle is loaded with really cool features, unfortunately the brand suffers from dismal reliability. And their parts prices are absurd. That's why many of them end up in the bone yards. Keep up the great work.

    Always dressed accordingly. 😉👍🏻
    The British are very posh. Same goes for their SUV’s. 🙂
    I enjoyed how surprised you were regarding the rear accommodations. A lot of these things are used to chauffeur diplomats and such. They have to have all that stuff.
    It’s a shame so many fall apart either due to lack of maintenance or simply the sheer expense of it. 🤷🏻‍♂️

    Sarah this was your best video (in my opinion) by far (I'm a big Range Rover fan) but your totally right people that buy a range rover dont typically look after them they dont even care for them like most might who buy a brand new car... and they probably dont even drive them themselves. Nothing else drives like a range rover! oh and as a side note your skirt was the best one I've seen you wear too :)
