I use a 24" 1080p display and a 43" 4K display and can get a VESA stand for the laptop and 24" display, buy an inexpensive Thunderbolt 3 hub and it will do everything I need it to. The fact they're starting to appear for under £800 now with a 12-month warranty from some of the used Mac sites mean it's not going to be difficult to get one once I have the means to save up for it but I'm still keeping my eye on the price of the 14" M1 Pro because as they get cheaper, they become a better option overall but I simply can't justify the price difference for an additional 2 performance cores and the other features at present when I could get a brand new M2 Pro Mac Mini for what they sell for. That's great and all, but unfortunately it is more expensive now than it was on release (at least in my region). In early 2020 I could get it for the eq of 980 USD, now it's around 1100 USD. And no, there is no refurbished option here and the used market is a disaster as well. One of the few things i dislike about living scandinavia and envy about north america - cheap tech

Performance and screen are slight improvements but honestly the M1 is such a good laptop the general user wouldn't notice a difference. btw if you look at my clips of me scrubbing through the edit at around 06:21 I've got about 5% battery life left but zero effect on performance. P.S. I want something for ordinary web browsing, checking my emails and watching movies/TH-cam videos during my lunch breaks -but don't care for an iPad Proas
I believe this is better bang for the buck.
That's such a shame! The 2020 M1 air can be found for around £790-£880 here in the UK and was £1100 new!
Just got the same in 700 USD in India
@@ResponsibleCitizen001 is that a good or bad price for you?
I'm in the dilemma of switching to Mac from Windows (and later from Android to iOS maybe). I have a 15.6" OLED VivoBook Pro i7 / 16GB / 2TB / RTX 3050. Apart from the battery life (which truly sucks) I am fine. I just cannot digest having to pay 2x the price for 1/2 or 1/3 of some of the specs. But I get so tempted, no idea why.
Because the MacBook air is 🔥🔥🔥
Just bought this for 400 hopefully it serves me well
$400?
I am about to get one for $450.
How is the M1 MBP base model vs the Macbook air m2?
Not too different in terms of performance, screen is the only thing thats better imo.
Performance and screen are slight improvements but honestly the M1 is such a good laptop the general user wouldn't notice a difference. btw if you look at my clips of me scrubbing through the edit at around 06:21 I've got about 5% battery life left but zero effect on performance. Such a good laptop!
Blue Eye Samurai :)
Respectfully disagree. Too many good refurbished Macbook Pros and other laptops to remain with the M1 Air.
- Refurbished M1 Pro 14-inch
- Refurbished M2 Pro 14-inch
- Refurbished M2 Air with 16GB of RAM
- New M3 Air with 16GB of RAM.
The refurbished M1 PRO is £1300 on Apple, the M1 Air is £750? That's a pretty big difference. So you might "respectfully disagree" but your point is invalid. The M1 air is a budget laptop. You're saying spending double the price is the other option?
The English man in the video is super sexy . I love geeky guys ❤❤❤❤
Buy no expensive laptop for greed corporations 🎉
lol no one is talking about M1 , not for over a year now
Exactly, but it's more affordable for people who can't get an M2 or M3. Try thinking outside your own head for a change.
@@JackWoodhams Right, it was a budget alternative like 2 years ago dude for all of 2023 people have been using far better alternatives than the m1 air. I haven't seen a video or heard about the fucking thing since 2020, stop acting like disadvantaged regions in the world are clamoring for MacBooks lol
@@alexjohnson1869 What on earth are you talking about? I have friends in the UK who consider the M1 a totally viable option. And it comes up in discussions a lot. The entire point of this video is whether the M1 air is still worth it in 2024. And given the views and comments clearly the M1 air is still a well supported, well regarded option. Go troll someone else moron.
Well, this has over 4k views so people are still interested in it.
well its not just extra ports... m1 14inch 3 times faster stronger than air and pro 13 inch twice ;)
