Have you ever seen a 6-wheel drive diesel powered Army Jeep? I have and it’s awesome! I had the pleasure of chatting with Tanner Martin about his one of a kind 6x6 Willys! Lots of creativity and dedication went into this rig! This one of a kind rig is based on a flat fender Willys platform. It’s powered by a Kubota v2204t Turbo Diesel. It’s backed up by a t98a 4-speed transmission. Tanner worked with a local machinist to design and build a custom drive system. He modified a spicer-18 to have 3 sticks and 3 separate outputs. All 3 axles have live drive, hi and low range. This gives this machine true 6-wheel drive. Power goes through a series of driveshafts then into triplet mahindra Roxor axles with 3.73 gears. This helps the driver to be able to maintain reasonable road speed given the kubotas low rpm design. Power hits the ground with classic Non-Directional ndt 7.00-16 tires.

I saw this at the show. It is a really interesting piece of engineering!
for a second I thought my double vision kicked in. Beautiful piece of work.
It’s a wild one for sure!
Great interview!!!!
Thank you!
I just got my Kaiser Willys order today, thanks again for the discount code, every little bit helps.
I love my 54 m38a1, but i still intend to find a wwll jeep, because both my grandpa's served 4 year's in wwll. I heard a lot of stories, and some were pretty bad. My one grandpa was a medic, and he saw some really bad injuries. I've always wanted an old jeep, had a real nice one that was a mid 80' s, but it wasn't like having the m38a1 24 volt jeep I'm restoring now. Once you have one of these old jeeps, you kinda get hooked. I had a 66 impala ss convertible back in 07, but had to sell it because of an accident that kept me from working for almost a year, and bill's have to be paid. I didn't really feel that bad about it, although i had a lot of time and money in restoring it. The good thing about these jeeps, is the parts are cheaper, and not as much work is involved to restore them. This six wheel jeep is pretty cool, a lot of work went into building it, but it looks good, and i bet it's fun to drive. G-d bless.
Awesome! Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for choosing
Kaiser Willys and for using my code!
By the time this year's event was over those six wheels were coming in pretty handy.
Yeah traction was scarce! 😆

Any time!
That is awesome! I would love to have one of those.
You and me both!
Willys actually made about 13 6wd jeeps during WW2.
Yeah Tanner talked about how the Mt-tug was in his sights and became and gave him some ideas for this build 👍
Cool video! Could you please tell me how to find the diesel willys group you were talking about?
Sure! It’s the “diesel Willys support group” on facebook
