I can’t believe that Sunmi was eliminated! This round was much easier for me to guess correctly as opposed to the first round. I wonder what threw off the audience so much. Anyone know what the rules are when the original singer is eliminated? Regardless of the result, I think that fans have to understand that the “celebrity status” comes from so much more than just the voice. Some of the other things to consider are appearance, personality, dance ability, stage presence, creativity, drive, training, interpersonal relationships, and being at the right time at the right place. Sunmi is the total package when it comes to that. If anything, this Show is proof that Sunmi is/was so influential that an entire generation of girls growing up in Korea wanted to emulate her and her iconic sound. As long as she wants to be in the industry, she will continue to influence future generations. As a Dreamcatcher fan, I know that one of my favorite singers wouldn’t even have considered joining the K-Pop world if it weren’t for Sunmi and Wonder Girls… and for that, I am extremely thankful. The audiences over there might heard something different from us, since we're listening to clean version. Not to mention, Sunmi's actual singing style has changed over the years, this is why with older songs it's even harder to guess bc Sunmi herself sung it in different ways

I'm not a fan of hers and honestly this round was not that hard to guess even if you've never listened to her before this show. Everyone else was very obviously trying to sound a certain way and it made #3 stand out. You'll just have to connect that with the way Sunmi sings in the previous round and her reminder that she's now using a different vocal technique compared to her (older) breathier songs to realize that she is #3.

I think that actually might be what was throwing people. Everyone else was putting that deep/rich/breathy tone her voice is kinda known for on very heavily while she was obviously just singing naturally as herself So people heard more Sunmi trademarks in the other voices without noticing how much they don't seem to be a natural part of the singer's voice
I think the reason why she kept getting almost eliminated in this song is because she's changed her technique of singing since she left JYP. She used to do half air half voice whereas now she uses more of her voice. It's not that she sang badly it's just because for this song people are used to hearing the half air half voice sound which she wasn't using. I think she's probably forgotten how to use that technique since she doesn't use it anymore but if you notice for Gashina everyone knew who she was Hopefully she doesn't feel bad

The imitators did super great when they sang the verses. But the "24시간"one were obvious. It's tricky for some of the audience cuz sunmi changed the way she sings but the imitators imitated the original version of the song so their voices might be more familiar to the audience.
When the first woman appeared I immediately thought: "Wow, she looks a lot like Saebom from Favorite", turned out it was actually her. xD I'm glad to hear some news from them, because I love them so much, but they basically vanished from the face of the Earth for the past 2 years, and I was already resigned to the idea they had one of those silent disbands.
This was hard for me, however I did guess correctly. I was having a little bit of a hard time choosing between 3 and 4, but ended up guessing Sunmi correctly. I would've expected the confusion to be between the first and second contestant even if the votes between all of them would be close. So it's a little surprising so many people voted for Sunmi. Even as someone who doesn't listen to much of Sunmi's music (granted the song is possibly her most popular one) my first instinct wasn't to vote for 3.

I think hearing it live inside the studio might be different than hearing it at home after all the editing. I've watched a few of these already, and a lot of the time, I've noticed fans commenting how obvious it was, whilst it didn't seem obvious to the people closest to the singer. I feel like, in the studio, the multiple speakers and reverbs make it sound different, whilst at home, it is very clear, and they use the sound directly from the microphone, rather than the sound that comes from the speakers in the studio. That makes the most sense, as coming from a film student.

Es muy dificil no eliminarla xq su voz no es tan especial como otros super cantantes, es algo comun, pero es muy Buena cantante y esta entre las mejores solistas d corea xq brinda un gran show y sus canciones son muy reconocidaa.

I got it right :D but it wasn't easy. I was sure in my choice but it took some time of listening to different lines! I'm a big fan of Sunmi so I guess that makes sense
Usually it gets easier throughout the rounds because you guess the mature, more stable voice, but this round was tricky for me. I ended up guessing Sunmi was #3, but I wasn't too confident in my answer. Still, that's a shame she got eliminated T-T

i actually guessed #3 in the third round!! i was going back and forth but even from the short tiktok i saw of this round, my gut told me she was #3!
