I can’t believe that Sunmi was eliminated! This round was much easier for me to guess correctly as opposed to the first round. I wonder what threw off the audience so much. Anyone know what the rules are when the original singer is eliminated? Regardless of the result, I think that fans have to understand that the “celebrity status” comes from so much more than just the voice. Some of the other things to consider are appearance, personality, dance ability, stage presence, creativity, drive, training, interpersonal relationships, and being at the right time at the right place. Sunmi is the total package when it comes to that. If anything, this Show is proof that Sunmi is/was so influential that an entire generation of girls growing up in Korea wanted to emulate her and her iconic sound. As long as she wants to be in the industry, she will continue to influence future generations. As a Dreamcatcher fan, I know that one of my favorite singers wouldn’t even have considered joining the K-Pop world if it weren’t for Sunmi and Wonder Girls… and for that, I am extremely thankful. The audiences over there might heard something different from us, since we're listening to clean version. Not to mention, Sunmi's actual singing style has changed over the years, this is why with older songs it's even harder to guess bc Sunmi herself sung it in different ways

I'm not a fan of hers and honestly this round was not that hard to guess even if you've never listened to her before this show. You'll just have to connect that with the way Sunmi sings in the previous round and her reminder that she's now using a different vocal technique compared to her (older) breathier songs to realize that she is #3.
The imitators did super great when they sang the verses. But the "24시간"one were obvious. It's tricky for some of the audience cuz sunmi changed the way she sings but the imitators imitated the original version of the song so their voices might be more familiar to the audience.
I think the reason why she kept getting almost eliminated in this song is because she's changed her technique of singing since she left JYP. She used to do half air half voice whereas now she uses more of her voice. It's not that she sang badly it's just because for this song people are used to hearing the half air half voice sound which she wasn't using. I think she's probably forgotten how to use that technique since she doesn't use it anymore but if you notice for Gashina everyone knew who she was Hopefully she doesn't feel bad

This was hard for me, however I did guess correctly. I was having a little bit of a hard time choosing between 3 and 4, but ended up guessing Sunmi correctly. I would've expected the confusion to be between the first and second contestant even if the votes between all of them would be close. So it's a little surprising so many people voted for Sunmi. I think hearing it live inside the studio might be different than hearing it at home after all the editing. I've watched a few of these already, and a lot of the time, I've noticed fans commenting how obvious it was, whilst it didn't seem obvious to the people closest to the singer. I feel like, in the studio, the multiple speakers and reverbs make it sound different, whilst at home, it is very clear, and they use the sound directly from the microphone, rather than the sound that comes from the speakers in the studio. That makes the most sense, as coming from a film student.

It was very obvious that none of the imitators had the same type of husky yet nasally thin voice that Sunmi has. I'm starting to think the audience tends to assume the idol singer has a thicker, deeper voice than they actually do, or maybe the live acoustics are messing with them - this was also the problem with Taeyeon's episode where people kept assuming the girl with the deepest voice was Taeyeon when it was at least obvious to me that it wasn't her.

I am a Miya-ne and I am well aware that Sunmi is not a vocalist like Taeyeon or Ailee but her voice is really distinct and different from the immitators in this episode and she can easily be spotted.
Some people just don't have a clear ear for sounds, plus the imitators where doing really familiar sunmi's voice but I still could difference every time and guess correctly every time. Are the little sounds what make the difference bw real and imitator
I'm a miya-ne and saw her in concert this week for her world tour, I'm shocked that so many had difficulty with this round!! It seemed obvious to me? Like, she's singing and talking in the same room as you, how can you not make that distinction? The way she was singing was very organic compared to the others in my opinion - she's focused on /singing/ while the impersonators are focused on /mimicking/ so it's not as natural sounding if that makes sense?
i guess it's bcs sunmi's singing style now is different from when she's in jyp. when you listen to her old song, you assume that sunmi will sing it the way she used to. but no, she's singing with her new style, and the audience didn't have the same idea. notice that in gashina, which is her most recent song here, a lot of them guess correctly. maybe if they include more her recent song :( kinda sad that she got eliminated :(

It was very obvious that none of the imitators had the same type of husky yet nasally thin voice that Sunmi has. I'm starting to think the audience tends to assume the idol singer has a thicker, deeper voice than they actually do, or maybe the live acoustics are messing with them - this was also the problem with Taeyeon's episode where people kept assuming the girl with the deepest voice was Taeyeon when it was at least obvious to me that it wasn't her.

Es muy dificil no eliminarla xq su voz no es tan especial como otros super cantantes, es algo comun, pero es muy Buena cantante y esta entre las mejores solistas d corea xq brinda un gran show y sus canciones son muy reconocidaa.

I am a Miya-ne and I am well aware that Sunmi is not a vocalist like Taeyeon or Ailee but her voice is really distinct and different from the immitators in this episode and she can easily be spotted.
It's because people are following a studio recording from years ago with a very specific sound director.
Some people just don't have a clear ear for sounds, plus the imitators where doing really familiar sunmi's voice but I still could difference every time and guess correctly every time. Are the little sounds what make the difference bw real and imitator
I'm a miya-ne and saw her in concert this week for her world tour, I'm shocked that so many had difficulty with this round!! It seemed obvious to me? Like, she's singing and talking in the same room as you, how can you not make that distinction? The way she was singing was very organic compared to the others in my opinion - she's focused on /singing/ while the impersonators are focused on /mimicking/ so it's not as natural sounding if that makes sense?

i guess it's bcs sunmi's singing style now is different from when she's in jyp. when you listen to her old song, you assume that sunmi will sing it the way she used to. but no, she's singing with her new style, and the audience didn't have the same idea. notice that in gashina, which is her most recent song here, a lot of them guess correctly. maybe if they include more her recent song :( kinda sad that she got eliminated :(
