    If I were building a lifted truck...it would have the same exact stance as Dustin's. Same size lift, same size diameter Wheels but maybe 12 wides instead of 14s. His setup is just perfect... 👌👌👌

      @Back_door_bandit_98 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you want the stance of 14 wides but want to go with 12 wides add 2 inch spacers and you will achieve about the same stance.

      @@Back_door_bandit_98 True, true. But I would try to run without spacers because I want some poke but not 5"-6" worth.🤣 Just about 2"-3" worth. But you never know exactly how it's going to look until you actually put the wheels & tires on the truck. If it didn't have enough poke, I would definitely throw some spacers on tho 👌👌👌

    So the turning radius and extra force on the front end is 100% related to wheel and tire choice, not the lift. The close that the wheel is to 0 offset the less stress is placed on suspension and steering components. The more negative offset (and narrower tire), the smaller the scrub radius and the tighter it will turn. This is why sticking your tires 12 feet outside of the fender is not the best idea.

  • @SuperSnakePlissken
    @SuperSnakePlissken 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Great video. This is one of the reasons I bought a TRD Pro Tundra. It came with 2 inch lift from the factory which for me is just right. High enough the truck looks great but not so high it impacts the mpg do to more drag. I also went with 285/70/18 Nitto Ridge Grapplers (34.5's) due to them not being so big that they impact my mpg but give the truck a nice aggressive look that fills up the wheel well.
    My brother had a lifted F-150 Ecoboost with a five inch lift and 37's on it and he got 10 mpg city and about 12 on the highway. That 3.31 rear end and twin turbos just could not handle that lift and tire package well at all.
    My 4.30 rear in my Tundra just eats up mine and I'm getting 15 city and 17-18 highway.

    You missed one big one and that is towing capability and the sway that you get from having a taller lifted truck as well as less towing capacity, those to me are big, as well as having not much benefit from wider wheels, especially in snow because in snow you want the tire to dig not float , The only time a wide tire would come in handy is in sand

    • @Mr_Glock19
      @Mr_Glock19 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah that’s the same setup I went with for my 2017 Ram because it doubles as a work truck I load and unload the bed constantly and I’m only 5’9 so 6”+ on 35’s+ would’ve been a pain to work out of. Question though, how well do those fender flares work keeping the truck clean with the -25 offset? I have the same offset and kinda like the look of flares and was considering it if they worked at keeping the truck cleaner too

    • @clutch7366
      @clutch7366 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Mr_Glock19 They help keep most of the mud and rocks away from the sides. -25 makes the tires just about even with the lip of the flares, maybe just a hair inside the lip. It’s not perfect, but it helps! And yeah I think they look great. I’ve got a black-and-white theme going with my truck, so I left em unpainted and apply some UV blocker every now and then.

    I would never lift my truck. I have a 2017 Ram 1500 Laramie Crew Cab and I plan on getting 22 x 10's or 12's for it with maybe a leveling kit if it needs it. I think having a pickup with the elevated view is nice enough.

      You are going to have to do a lot of trimming to fit those wheels.

    1-The squeaky an clunking
    2- can’t fit in most drive ins
    3- no where to get a wash / do it yourself
    4- having to lift your ass up to get out all the time so you don’t ruin your seats
    5- so many paint chips now
    6- no more excellent turns
    7- I’m supper slow now lol
    8- Karen’s talking shit
    9- can’t just grab stuff out of the box no more
    10- list keeps going I’ll stop here
    11- one more I feel so good that it’s lifted just don’t give two F bombs what you think

    Yea Im running 35s on my Jeep with a straight pipe and for some reason everybody still wants to race. I literally have a sticker on the back that says “not fast just loud” and they still want to race

    That’s why you should get a mustang. Much lower to the ground, and you can even wash the roof! Also you can go fast

    I have a couple vehicles including a truck. But when you lift it to the max and put giant rims on it I’m super judgemental man. I like the look of a very small lift and slightly bigger tires. Nothing this ridiculous

    One of the worst things for me about owning a lifted truck is the blind spots get worse, cant see infront of my rig for over 7 feet, granted I have a 9 inch suspension on 3 inch body on 37.5s

  • @charleschamberlain53
    @charleschamberlain53 ปีที่แล้ว

    My lifted 99 f150
    Cons
    Gas mileage went way up
    Power loss because it's turning bigger wheels
    Harder on front end components
    Harder to work under the hood
    Pros
    It's a toy that I can abuse
    It's paid for
    I dont feel bad about going off the road with not worrying about scratches, etc
    It's always dirty, but I don't care. It's wrapped in mossy oak
    It's easier to work under the truck
    The lunchbox locker in the rear and e locker in the front get me through alot most could not get through

    When they tell me to turn my powerstroke off in the drivethru not understanding that the car behind me is gonna hate it when i turn it back on.🤣. And as for ppl trying to race here in VA everyone seems to wants beef with the truck community. Tuners. Muscle cars. Lowered sedans. Hell i even had a cop ask me to hit it at a red light soo he could hear how loud my truck was. Blew out his explorer…no ticket

    I don't know very many people that lift their trucks and go with 14 wides in Colorado.😂 That must be an Eastern United States thing. The most with I would ever increase to is 12.5 and I don't particularly care to go that wide 10.5 or 11.5 is plenty also where I'm from the whole point of lifting a truck is to gain clearance so that you can put larger beefier tires on your truck and go tear the s*** out of some mountainsides. Still living out here I see some of these guys with lifted trucks that put on super large rims and super thin tires. In my opinion if you ain't got at least six or eight in of sidewall it's not worth it. I get that a lot of people lift their trucks because it makes it look cool but there's much more to it than looks. That's my thoughts on it anyways. Regardless of how you like it keep on doing your thing. It's also about customizing your rig to the looks and specifications that you like. Keep em high y'all
