This was one of the first songs I heard from 50 back in 1999. I was at a barbershop and somebody put on his first album. When I tell you every head in the shop was boppin and noddin through the whole record… I knew 50 was gonna be a beast.
I made my mom take me to Coconuts to buy the “guess who’s back” album. Shit was so good, I listened to it for like a year straight
@T A OR I could’ve just been off by a year. I graduated high school in 2001 and it was the summer before that. So to correct myself, it was actually 2000. Bro idgaf about internet status. I live a good life, I love my reality. Idc about this shit
@TA-hf6sithis song came out in 99-2000, go on google and look up "50 cent shot mtv" to find the original news from when 50 got hit in 2000 and they mention this song in the article. I'm not even from NY and I know this shit, you sound dumb arguing with people from there
@@JerseyMac11were you in New York?
It’s such an amazing song man. I can understand that
You have to hear the whole "Guess Who's Back"... Classic
Power of the dollar was the shit
That mixtape that got him signed by Eminem
@@busyb5107 i trapped to the power of the dollar that was my shit
"Power Of The Dollar", "Heatwave", "That Ain't Gangsta" and "Slow Doe". Some of 50's earlier joints.
Talk is cheap/Glow of a thug/*itch Now You Know/ Up To You To Choose more fore songs 50 did before he became famous.
Good die young 🔥
JMJ taught him to work on his hooks for songs. That's why he is so good at hooks. Before he got shot his voice was different as you can see on this song.
50 Cent - I’m Supposed To Die Tonight
50 Cent - Position of Power
50 Cent - Ski Mask Way
I’m supposed to die tonight is my favourite 50 song. Even as a white middle class kid growing up, that song made me feel gangster 😂
This is the freestyle that got him shot 9 times. He was talking dissing supreme a well known kingpin in queens. Based on majestic in the movie get rich or die tryin.
Fif a dope ass rapper
This is my favorite 50 song. In fact, its in my top 5 fave rap songs of all time for me.
This entire album was a classic.
50 bars of pleasure and pain 💯💯💯
This song was allegedly the reason why
50 got shot ...
I'm from the Bronx but I gotta go with Queens with Brooklyn a close second. Queens has my favorites: Kool G. Rap, Nas, and Mobb Deep. Brooklyn has Big Daddy Kane, Biggie, Jay-Z. Harlem has Big L and the Bronx has Big Pun. Everyone I named are top notch lyricists.
Don’t forget Shaolin (Staten Island). Wu-Tang Clan.
@@RAA10382 Love the Clan but I think Rae and Ghost are just a tad bit below of G Rap, Nas, Kane, Jay, Big L, and Pun from a lyrical standpoint. I would give Rae and Ghost a 9.8 and Big Pun or Big L a 10.
@@williamwalsh3983 Yea everyone has their favorites. But one thing for sure: Ghostface is in almost everyone’s top 10 (from what I have seen). And in many cases, he’s your favorite rapper’s favorite rapper. And he has one of the best discographies in hip-hop.
@@RAA10382 Definitely think Ghost has more meaningful lyrics than Rae. In fact, as far as subject matter is concerned, definitely one of the greats. But I'm looking from a standpoint of technical writing. For example, ALL I GOT IS YOU is so meaningful and is heartfelt. But compare that to Kxng Crooked's Shea Cotton, you will notice the intricacy of rhymes in Crooked song. There are incredible artists that make significant and meaningful songs (Tupac, SO MANY TEARS; Scarface) but songs like Big Daddy Kane's SET IT OFF, Kool G. Rap's EXECUTIONER'S STYLE, Nas's SUSPECTS, or Eminem's STILL DONT GIVE A FUCK have intricate rhyme schemes. Style vs Substance. Just preference. I think Ice Cube's DEATH CERTIFICATE is more significant than anything that Kool G. Rap put out but from a technical standpoint I prefer Kool G. Rap.
Man you left a grip of queens rappers off that list, Capone, trajedy kadafi, cormega, Az, Mc Shan etc
React to any 59 cent before get rich and you won't be disappointed
50 was more lyrical before he signed with eminem
Facts!
As a 34 year old who was in grade 7 when 50 dropped im singing "Hurt me to my heart to know he thinks 50 old school underground, im a old cat"
lol
That’s real shit… he said “I’m still getting into the old school underground hip hop…” bro that was a fucking stab to me… lol keep discovering young’n a lot of great stuff in that era.. especially the mixtape era
Lol. He didn't say HE Robbed nuns for fun...he was talking about others bro. Lol 😆
My favorite song by 50. This was real life
This guy "50" is extremely talented. Ghetto Quran, I like it. 🔥
this song made him got shot 9 times, definily the anthem of south side jamaica queens and the realest new york track i ever heard, Power of the dollar is better than Get rich or die trtin all day
No the hell it didn’t 😂
Not many albums beat that first album on aftermath bro…preme was beefing with him but it’s was the knife party shit lol this isn’t what got him shot
This is a straight SNITCHING SONG
This is the song that got him shot. The part of the song “Preme was the business man Prince was the Killer “. Supreme didn’t like 50 mentioning him in his music
@@SoundBiteInc- only those involved can actually confirm, but yes...as far as rumors go, it WAS said that, his lyrics in this, is what got him popped. This song was never officially released
You should do 50 cent-problem child 🔥 🔥
50 Cent “Days Went By” is severely underrated
Hungry 50, the one desperate to get that rich money record deal, was a different animal! When he got rich of the combination of blowing up, and Vitamin Water money, the music wasn't the same. But those early days-Wooooooo!
50's best track imo.
This Song is a classic🔥🔥🔥its sooooo Good
Love your reactions 👍🏻 think you should make a playlist of all your favourite tracks you have discovered 😉 that would be pure 🔥🔥🔥
I think its just New York as a whole that has produced some (not all ofc) of the best rap artists ever.
Classic if u not from queens u can't fully understand or appreciate how dope and gudda this was he spoke on real niggas from the hood #qgtm
This got 50 clipped.
Do “follow me gangsta ” the guess who back version.
Straight HEAT 🔥
when i heard that song and found out about the story, man 5-6 years ago i was shocked. How good he was alrdy.
very nice pick Ahmad!
50 used to be way more lyrical before he got shot. Then he just went on demon time
Easily my fav 50 Cent song
We got the same headphones…. Subscribed
All the boroughs got 🔥 but overall I think BK and Queens got the most legendary lyricists. Queens got Nas, G Rap, LL Cool J, Mobb Deep, Pharoahe Monch, 50, Lloyd Banks, Cormega, CNN, Stack Bundles, Nicki Minaj, Lost Boyz, Action Bronson, A Tribe Called Quest, Chuck D, Beatnuts, etc.
BK got Biggie, Jay, Talib, Mos Def, Big Daddy Kane, M.O.P, Papoose, Lil' Kim, Foxy, GZA, Fabolous, Busta, Masta Ace, AZ, the whole Boot Camp Clik, etc so it's close.
Sup good bro.....
In this track 50 talking "the catch era" in South Side Queens New York in which I'm from & witnessed & could relate to some of the things 50 said in this song.🔥🔥🔥
You really tried this song... thanks!
50 Bars is another 🔥 1 too.
Pure classic
Please do 50 cent problem child
Power of the dollar is a classic before fifty got shot
You gotta check out the Promotional 97' - 98' album
Power of the Dollar, you can hear the hunger in all those verses
Gotta check out 50 cent "what a psychic told me" Then look into why he made this track. It's pretty wild
50 CENT - YA HEARD ME !!!
I think 50 is slept on man got so many hits.
🔥🔥🔥
this was the joint that got 50 shot up.
“Types to rob nuns for fun”
Not him he’s saying how greezy the people he knows from the hood are. It’s crazy 50 is now considered old school!
50 is nice FR🔥 don’t be fooled by the candy shops and all that. He smart and knows how to sell records. His real shit is catered to the streets . He spit some hard shit and don’t give af about who he offends .
That guess who's back album is better than get rich or die trying imo both good albums but that older 50 album hits different
Yo Ahmad do you watch the first season of BMF? Whaddup doe lol
I gotta get into it fr !! I’m slacking 😂🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
Here's a psrty game. TH-cam search everyone he named dropped in this and take a drink when you find a bio about one.
This is the song that got 50 shot. He dropped names and real events
Fasle this has nothing to do with that and as a matter of fact Ja rule implies that it was because 50 was suppose to come to a meeting that all the street dudes organized to squash the beef with Ja after all the fighting and stabbing that took place and 50 didn't show.
It was taken as a sign of disrespect so they came after him.
The hood liked this song and so did many of the gangstas
1st song that got 50 famous
Listen to the lyrics
Shout out to ‘em & dre
If the floe don’t kill ya tha MACK WILL.

Man he dropped a lot of names on this joint. Maybe that’s what got him popped? 🤔 But listen to “who you rep with” he got Queens rappers and Nas too. That shit straight flames 🔥
It was 😂😂😂 well it started the drama .. I knew some dudes in this song . I’m from south side .. niggas was kinda mad ..but the shit was heat most niggas let it go .. but preme. Got a lil tight fif called him a businessman. Not a killer .. this track why niggas call fif a rat but everyone knew all this shit . Especially police
Everything he said in this song was all released info, NOTHING was hidden in it. It also wasn't what got him shot, he got shot because he was starting shit with murda inc which supreme was using to make money instead of drugs.
@@prototypep4 a lot of shit got him shot , the song , the murda inc shit , niggas robbed ja , the studio fight , too much bullshit ..
U gotta do heat, tht song too hard
The song that got him shot…
Who U Rep With off this album!
Be a Gentleman & Too Hot ft. Nas - 50 bodies both
This song got 50 shot preme at like that he was saying too much he felt like he was snitching
Power of the Dollar is CLASSIC 50 - also....50 cent the rapper never robbed nobody like that. He was a dope boy. The REAL 50 cent was a stick up kid, but he was a tiny little dude.
This joint May have gotten Curtis 9 shots...
It never did
You should do 50 Cent: 50 Bars

That joint was vivid as a MF
