Ja Rule never recovered from 50 for multiple reasons. From what I remember it was a combination of 50 Cent literally having one of the biggest debuts for a rapper ever, along with Ja Rule making the mistake of involving the entirety of aftermath including Eminem in the beef, along with higher ups in his label facing a federal investigation at the same time. 50 cent had the biggest debut of any artist of all time. Dude came into the rap game and had it in a chokehold from the get go
50s run of dominance in the early 00s was one of the best of all time in the rap game
I remember I was in high school in Feb 2003 when this came out. In Da Club was the biggest song. We ditched school and drove to four different stores to buy the album because everywhere was sold out.
One of the best hip hop albums after the gold mine which was the 90s. 50 cent and G Unit owned the early to mid 2000s during a time when mainstream hip hop was taking a huge downturn.
Really 2002-2007 till Kanye came
@@slimeballmk6656 I mean they dropped off after The Game dropped 100 bars and Runnin and ended their careers lol.
@@DontEvenTrip619 not fif he continued to make hit records
@@slimeballmk6656 G-unit essentially died after that. 50 still had some hits but he was also making the same tracks he was going after Ja for making lol. Don’t get me wrong Get Rich or Die trying is one of my top 5 albums ever. I’m just saying the Game murdered G-unit.
@@DontEvenTrip619 what records did he start singing in the rain with mary he never made fun of ja for singing he made fun of how he was singing
Heat, If I Cant, Like My Style, & Life's On tlThe Line....untouchable grit and energy.
Eminem’s patiently waiting verse is one of his best ever
These numbers speak for themselves bro, this right here is the reason I love your channel! I support you doing all the other stuff but these classic reactions are the reason I've watched almost all of your video! Big ups man
As far as straight up hip hop goes this is the best debut album Iv ever heard
Power of the dollar was his debut. This is his third album..
@@AboveEmAllProduction it was canceled and unreleased cuz of what happened to 50, this is his first official album
@@ILLUSI_O_N-V1 still his first album. It still exists. Still recorded way before this one.
@@AboveEmAllProduction wtf is that logic?
@@splash8594 what is wrong with the logic? he recorded it in 1998-99. it was shelved. it came out later. so how is that still not his first album?
“Life’s on the line” was actually made in 1999 and was put on as his first album song, that’s song was his first song that blew him up and introduced his name in the rap game.
you sleeping on U Not Like Me that's song is top 3 on the album that bars, the rudenes and slickness is just beyond extraordinary. fkn luv that song deserves its own reaction to direct the bars.
Been listening to the album on repeat for about a month now. Brought back so many vibes
The beats really made this album.
50 was on fire on this album.
Being in New York was different when this album came out. There was nothing out that every song was played everywhere
This album is literally one of the best hip hop albums of all time
Edit: 50 ended Ja’s career. See Diverse Mentality’s video on the ja rule vs 50 beef
Even Eminem said 50 cent was so great that he almost quit rap. 50 cent had the greatest prime ever.
"Lifes on the Line" was from a mixtape that came out two years before this album, that's why the energy was complete different.
Still one of my favorites on the album
One of my favorites till the day I leave this earth! Banger all the way through
10:20 You're on drugs. "Blood Hound" is one of the best cuts on the record!
19:12 "Gotta Make It To Heaven" is the official closer. The following three cuts are listed as bonus cuts on the tracklist artwork and were all released in some capacity prior to the album dropping.
Right, the vinyl record had 16 tracks.
Nobody gives "Blood Hound" the respect it deserves...
‘50 you need some help?’
‘Chill Yayo,, I got this’
Iconic.
Great Album & love your reactions
In da club is his best record bro..that song is legendary..and bar by bar that shit is immaculate including the production..that’s some real gangsta shit
Absolutely a classic album 🔥 50 ran the world back then. Damn i miss that time.
I'm telling you if you listen to guess who's back mixtape or power of the dollar you will really see how lyrical 50 Cent was before he signed with Eminem and before he got shot
Favourite rap album of all time, from the 50 cent game, from the movie, from listening too grodt on cd
Legendary Album. Legendary Reaction
The whole "shady records was 80 seconds away from the towers, some cowards fucked with the wrong building they meant to hit ours" was such a powerful bar when you realize that Osama bin laden eventually personally hated eminem for his without me video.
One of the best albums ever, if he would've cut 3-4 tracks it would be in the conversation for GOAT album
Wanksta was actually his first single. That track was a street anthem and then In Da Club gave him more mainstream appeal.
This is the closest thing to a perfect album that I can think of. The only song that I do skip sometimes is Heat because all the gun sound effects can be a bit much, But man, 20 years later this is still a masterpiece
Nate Dogg’s voice always gives me goosebumps whenever I first hear it on a track, especially this one and idk why.
Please more reactions to older Albums. And longer please! You could react to the other 50 Cent classics like The Massacre or Curtis. And maybe some older Eminem Albums would be great :=)
one of the greatest albums of all time..easily my top 5 album of all time. I remmeber borroiwng the cd from my friend in grade 7 and listening to it on the stereo in my parents room. i was just lying there loving every record
This is when people had real shit to say. The verses held weight and had intentions, that’s why the energy hits so hard. When this album dropped, I had it on repeat for ages. To this day, I don’t skip a track if it comes up on shuffle. The quality of the rap game is simply lacking these days.
This album has never left my car cd player since I got my license at 17 and I’m 31 now
Incredible album start to finish, in a weird way it has aged so well, timeless.
This came out when I was 9 when a kid in class gave me a burned CD copy (at the start when CD burning just became a thing). I'm still bumping this shit literally once a week. For me the only album that has consistently been in my playlist for as long as I can remember with multiple songs constantly on repeat. To me personally no other album can fuck with this one EVER.
One of, if not THE greatest hip hop album of all time.
Jon, I've been watching you for years from Rock React, though only for some videso, but when you put on the second pair of glasses during In Da Club after ragging on it, I had to sub.
Life’s on the Line is still his best song imo
How do you not know the 50 Cent & Eminem vs Ja Rule and Murder Inc stuff??? Man there’s so much. Some of the greatest diss tracks ever made.
Can't imagine not hearing this entire album until now..
I know and he's a music guy too
Damn this brings back so many memories. First album I ever bought in high school with my saved up allowance. Listened to this for 2 years straight. Best album ever!!
21 questions definitely my favorite on this record. Nate Dogg can't do no wrong🔥
Forget about one of if not the best debut albums of all time this was and still is one of the best albums of all time
Easily top 10 greatest hip hop albums ever, maybe all time
This is legitimately the best rap album ever made in my opinion. There is not a single album in existence that can match it song for song.
You need to listen to Young Jeezy’s first album “Thug Motivation 101: Let’s Get It”
"Hit the kitchen lights, it's cockraoches everywhere, hit the kitchen lights, now it's marble floors everywhere"
You should review the G-Unit discography bro. That Beg For Merch album man……………….Jesus. It’s the best rap group album ever.
John we need you to react to some Chief Keef!!! You can't talk about the last decade of music without Keith Cozart!!!
Lol dude it’s the best ! How could you not have ever heard it
Now this is a certified hood classic
I grew up on this album on repeat
