    Thanks again for the reaction to Assaf Avidan's songs 🙏
    Ariadne, daughter of Minos, King of Crete, imprisoned in a labyrinth against her suitors. She offers Theseus a ball of thread so he doesn't lose his way.
    Avidan often uses familiar cultural symbols in his poetry. In my opinion, in this song he uses the physical labyrinth as a mental one - an obstacle on his way to his beloved. His inner demons prevent him from reaching her and only the song remains as a testimony to the unfulfilled love.
    One of my favorite songs. So sad and beautiful... Assaf manages to combine real emotion with virtuosity of writing and playing. Amazing artist.

    Yes! More Asaf! 😁😁 this makes me happy!
    I recommend you listen to some interviews with Asaf, he's a deep thinker, has a good sense of humor and is a very intelligent man. He calls his songs "archeological excavations of previous versions of himself".. This song has a sense of urgency, like he's running through the labyrinth, seeking the answers he needs. The guitar picking is almost like his running footsteps, confused, lost. I really like your interpretation of the ripple effect at the end of the song! It's obviously based on Greek mythology, the spin he put on it is "what if the hero didn't take help that was offered to him before he went into the maze?"
    Maybe he was too proud or too ashamed to accept help. He kills the beast (his own monster of shame/fear..) But without the ball of yarn he gets lost in the darkness of his own subconcious. Constantly manipulated by his past. To me it seems like he's swinging in and out of reality, he's not sure what's objectively true anymore. He has his memories of the princess, the moonlight, the gardens.. but is a memory now a hope and a comfort or is it only torture? I like how the song progresses from he is definitely coming, then he starts to doubt, then feeling blind, realizes he's ultimately alone.
    This might be frightening for some, but Asaf's lyrics are very much about accepting the chaos, the darkness, the loneliness, the meaninglessness of everything. Acceptance leads to a greater peace of mind. He said something like this in a video I watched recently: Art is both the labyrinth and the ball of yarn - step in, lower your guard, explore, and get lost. It always has a ball of thread leading you out, art is created by humans and therefore has a solvable structure. Unlike our own conciousness. Art is a way of trying to bring structure into our own chaos (not an exact quote).

    The song was written for the Dark series
    It talks about mental conditions (labyrinthine in my head) , drug use (substance for drops)..
    I honestly think this is a masterpiece and is one of his most open songs showing himself
    Thanks for this genuine reaction

    Hi Saeed😊 I'm not an expert in everything related to uploading reaction videos On TH-cam.. but I see that it is not possible to find the two videos of Asaf Avidan that you uploaded yesterday. (I don't know how I found them..but they don't appear at all in the reactions you made for him). am I wrong?

    • @SaeedReacts.
      @SaeedReacts.  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi, they are still private, because they are blocked in 99% of the world. In the playlist they can be found only by people in one or two countries. If the restrictions are released i will post them publicly. In the meantime I also put them on my patreon.

    I can see that Asaf has completely drawn you into his world. I was able to see him last November in Vienna, alone on stage - and that's where his talent really comes into its own. Now, of course, the journey can continue, on the guitar with a little accompaniment: Asaf Avidan - In A Box III - The Golden Calf (th-cam.com/video/0cwgPvQZbzA/w-d-xo.html) or on the piano above the rooftops of Paris: Asaf Avidan Lost Horse live au Perchoir PARIS (th-cam.com/video/aeDzQPbo7do/w-d-xo.html)
