Historically, in medieval England, it was specified a dozen loaves of bread was to be a specific size and weight. To avoid punishment and to accommodate for everyday variations, bakers would just throw in an extra loaf of bread. Hence, "baker's dozen"

I don't get why when I put in my donuts in the exact time they are suppose to go in, they say their cooked but they don't have that golden color like this video, they look pale. When I try to cook them longer they will just get burnt.
