Sorry, not trying to be a "know it all" but hey... I've been doing this since I was 16 and I'm 53... but you can also use Neutral Density Gels to weaken a light. Just like ND's the come on a filter but in the form of a color gel. They usually come in just about any "stop" power you need and are dirt cheap. I use them to weaken my strobes when I can't turn them down enough.
It doesn't get any better that what you give us time and time again thank you for that, your channel is my go to for lighting as well as all things photography good job brother.

Great video of how-to combo LED with Flash, Gavin Hoey also did one of these videos about six months ago, and it was interesting to compare your advice to his. He used more camera settings, white balance adjustments and 200w strobes. I've got a Nanlite 60c and I find this can overpower the AD400 Pro's I've got if I max out the LED and put the 400s on lowest setting. I also found it helpful to have a smaller softbox for the 400s and play with the angles a lot more (honestly it is easier to just use my 4 other LED lights than try to mix, but interesting to know how to do it).
lots of ways to solve that problem. kill all the ambient. that flash is going to fire regardless of the shutter speed. it doesn't care how fast your shutter is. It will allways be the same result. That constant light source. It cares about your shutter speed. You'd be surprised how much love that 60 watts gives you at 1/30th or 1/15th a second. No moving your kit required. Time is on your side when you use your phone as a remote trigger. look at it like painting. the paint from the strobe is thrown on your canvas at 1/8000th of a second. the paint from the leds is thrown at your canvas at a much more leisurely pace. usually at 1/8th a second for me. loved your content over the years. hope this helps your creative thoughts. your vids helped mine.

Does the 7’ westcott umbrella come with the diffuser? The photos on BH isn’t showing so 2. I remember you talking about how much you love your HUGE parabolic softbox and made a video about you using it more in the studio. Which one do you prefer more? The umbrella or softbox? (Also money isn’t a concern) I love how you do your studio photoshoots and want to get better in mine as well when I take photos with my clients

You can also move the light source further away, quicker and easier
@@NatesEscape moving the light further from the subject could make the light harsher and less pleasant though
