Fast as fuck and in your face vocals, speedy and prominent snare and heavy crunchy guitar tone. It amazes me that this band manages to sound consistent after more than 3 decades.
You mean Crossover? 😘 ST & DRI my favs for it. Though ST specialized more while keeping the vibe. DRI perfected their vibe and kept style. Some Natural Evolution, playing, polishing, then expansion most evident on Four of a Kind, yet so masterful & true. Think for Yourself tis my star on that one. Probably on my top 5 from all I have heard from them. Which is most they put out to date. One of the few bands that really held they're sound without getting stale. Never compromised I gave up integrity. Even though they were not putting out new material they we're able to freshen up what they had without risking value. A rare band that I would look forward to hearing free masters from. Adding more to some of the classics and stretching them out making them somewhat new yet still familiar and favorable. I would put money on them for being able to achieve all new heights and do it right. Will travel the tri-state area to catch every show I could. Twas never the same ever, nor a disappointment. The crowd on the other hand... But never in New York. Always gave the strongest performances there. The energy off those crowds fueled them so much. Always stay tight and in time. Roll with the mishaps whatever they may be. True professionals with a deep passion that is extremely evident. My live performances have been limited to video the last several years but can still tell the love is strong. The speed has actually gotten faster. Though I still think some needed that slowed stompyness. They need and deserve so much more recognition. I know some don't share in fear of Metallisms taking over. But I think they've proven themselves above & beyond. Not many bands can I continue to hold on to their titles and keep going strong as my beloved Dirty Rotten Imbeciles❣🤘 Sorry passion pulled rants out...
Wow! I just discovered now (in 2019) that this it's been released! One of my favorite bands from my early teen years (late 80's/early 90's)! And,after all these years, they made a cool EP like this one! Glad I walking down memory lane, searching some old D.R.I. videos, and found this "new" material!
But wait there's more it's got the skanker man seal of quality ! Always awesome the memories my first DRI album " Four of a kind " been a fan for what 30 years !👍
Heros as I was a fckn Teenager, and after all that time they didnt change , true Hardcore Legends...and for sure they paved way for a lot af Bands nowadays....never got the Credit for that.. D.R.I....to this day FULL SPEED AHEAD
I saw DRI open for Death Angel, and Testament in 89 at the Channel in Bostons South shore. I can't remember possibly Wreaking Crew opened for DRI. Awesome show. I bought a 4 of a kind shirt wish I still had it. Still have dealing with it and cross over records. 35 years of DRI for me.
OMG Glad to bump into this killer crossover band from my childhood I rocked the hell out of them in '85 "Dealing With It" What a treat still got that galloping thrash that always kills! Let's Goooooooo!
allthough i love the new songs ,they are very much D.R.I. as we know it but always hated the fact they don't make albums each year ,but what the hell , they tour on and on and on so thats pretty cool ,seen them a lot in the time of Full Speed Ahead (every year after that hehe ) and those gigs where the best !!2 to 300 folks in the crowd and close up to the front singing along with all the songs and mostly what is absolute awesome ... during support acts the band is always somewhere in the crowd talking to the fans ,signing shit ,smoking joints backstage , Harald gave me his weed at a gig to roll one for em for after the show , took us backstage ...was awesome ...anyway D.R.I. ...LOVE YOU GUYS \M/ \M/
Freaking Fucking kick ass EP.......Listening D.R.I. since the first album came out......I'm 43 but I feel 23 when I listen this good shit. Age is just a number come con D.R.I.
This is DxRxI at their hardcore best ,which is brilliant ,it's like they've never been away, and still sound as fast as a U.S soldier coming down a zip wire at the end of a training exercise.
When i was young first time saw D.R.I crossover LP live show til now truly thrash music still alive, today i use TH-cam feeling D.R.I bright me still young energy,God blessings ~ ^ ^ √
I'm seeing D.R.I. tonight for the first time. I've never seen Nuclear Assault, sadly, but had already planned on wearing my "Game Over" t-shirt to the show tonight before reading your comment. Apropos.
Well ST is my other favorite Crossover band and for the first time ever I hear a little Muir in these vocals. Not hating it of course ; as if I could ever hate anything they did?
Check out Brad And Lex. They're a reaction channel that has done songs by Black Flag, Suicidal Tendencies, The Misfits, Testament etc. We could use your support to persuade them to do more reactions to bands like D.R.I., Fear, Death Angel, Crumbsuckers, M.O.D. etc.
The early first pressings are life-changing....this stuff sounds like Metallica trying their utmost to be DRI and completely missing the boat. The monotonous drum beat is worthy of Lars. This is lacking the complete over the cliff edge insanity that makes those early releases so precious.
Absolutely agree. First few records, and especially the first was batshit crazy with extreme sudden bursts of almost blast-beat like frenzied stuff you hear from early Boston HC scene (Jerry's Kids in particular comes to mind). Nothing to compare it with, those early songs are just pure gold. At least in my dictionary, I like my HC fast, with as little breakdowns as possible and just going berserk on all instruments.
I'm not trashing D.R.I. as a band. I've been a longtime fan. But these 3 new offerings literally have the SAME drums in each song. Compared to classics like Gun Control of Beneath the Wheel, 5 year plan, etc. which had more diversity and feeling.
For me (53years old) was DRI one of the Best HC band on this world forever......the legend.
For me as well m8.( 49 years old)
this is better:
1 - Against Me (00:00)
2 - Anonimity (2:12)
3 - AS Seen On TV (4:59)
4 - Mad Man (6:32)
5 - Couch Slouch (7:38)
Excellent
Good to see a badass crossover band like DRI release some good old hardcore punk tunes ☺️
Fast as fuck and in your face vocals, speedy and prominent snare and heavy crunchy guitar tone. It amazes me that this band manages to sound consistent after more than 3 decades.
What a surprise after more then 20 years a new D.R.I album!
nhibd a Power Move
Sounds good and is in perfect speed
My favorite band, no one sounds like crossover or thrash zone albums like them!!! I still waiting in Chile with my ticket!!! DRI RULES!!! lml
