The little tray is not hard, dude. First fill it over the sink. You’re welcome. No water on the floor. Then bend it while you press from the other side and pop them out into a bowl.
I tried that too, but not sure if you meant tap water to fill, I do use spring water, and of course you dont want to waste something you are paying more for.
I was thinking about making the leap to molds since the sonic ice inevitably pools at the bottom and we lose a good 8-10% of the product, but hey, at least it's convenient/cheap. Thanks.
I agree, its just not economical, better to lose a few cents worth of ice on the drive home than buy a machine. Chick-Fil-A makes a great ice that does not melt as fast, but there is still some waste.

I have this tray and don't recommend. Its annoying removing those ice cubes every time
