      check all the voltages of cells individually , If there is a drop in voltage of atleast 1 Volt ( ex.3.7 - 1 V = 2.7 V ) , Then you sure need to change that cell , Good Luck

    Great video, might I ask - if I replace all cells (6) do every cell need to be the same voltage? If I buy new and not all cells are the same voltage 3.81V for example - Do I need to charge or discharge the cells so they will match voltage?

    • @Miniatures-And-More
      @Miniatures-And-More  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It is always better to see that the replaced cells are all of same voltages , But however this will not be possible if you buy cheap quality ones , I recommend Samsung or Panasonic , Initially once you have replaced all the cells (6) You must charge them for at-least 8 hrs , Good Luck

    • @Miniatures-And-More
      @Miniatures-And-More  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for your comment , Usually You need to check the cell Voltages , Select the Maximum voltage battery, the required is 3.7 Volts , Anywhere above 3 V is good too . If you don't find a cell with this voltage then use new ones , Good Luck.

    When you solder wires, it could be fixed back to battery case. They need spot fixing with a device. I tried to repair but failed as i could not solder nickel strip. Thanks

    • @Miniatures-And-More
      @Miniatures-And-More  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello Rajeev yes the strips are attached by spot welding to the batteries , you can solder them as well , to do this you need to tin the plates and battery terminals , Apply a thin coat of flux and use atleast 50 watt solder iron you can do this in this method , Good Luck

      Nominal Capacity: 2,850 mAh , Be careful while charging using other methods , Just check if you are using proper voltage and current , See if the Battery is not over heating while charging , If yes then chances are it will burst. Good Luck and Take Care

    Tested voltages of individual cells in my battery pack, they're about 3.9 volt, now confused as to which to replace.
    The battery wear level is about 99% already critical.

      @@Miniatures-And-More Thanks for answer. Battery was healty. I has drained approximately 9 Amps and 3.4 V each cell. Total battery voltage was 10.2 V. I search on the internet and I found whats the problem. I cut the BMS POWER CABLES. If you do that the BMS board inside the battery cuts the power and gives no output. Something like protection mode. But it even worse. There is a trick to get back the battery to life but it may not be work. I will try this trick today. NEVER CUT THE BMS CABLES. And watch this videos.

    Hi, I'm hoping you are still reading your comments. It is hard to get updated information on lithiums these days. I have a couple of questions I hope you can help me with.
    1) I have an old HP laptop battery. It was completely drained when I left it on the shelf for 3 years. I used it previously for 4, so it is 7 years. I checked the voltage it is 6 cell 18650, 2 each. So 1 parallel cell is dead, but the other 2 are showing around 4V. Can these cells be recharged?
    2) My current battery voltage is 4.18V, 4.06V, and 4.03V. Why is the 1st set so high? I was under the impression that lithium batteries lose voltage as they age, not gain? This battery currently only gives me 55% b/c it laptop won't charge if the voltage is above 12.55.
    Thanks!

      Hi McHwain , Yes I do read my comments regularly , Battery technology has been a need of the hour these days , There are plenty of research on batteries , Since this is the final option of energy source for humans as per my belief,
      To let you know, I had a wrist watch which i purchased about 12 years ago and can you believe it , It is still working fine no issues until date :) ,
      It usually is designed to last longer but there are certain conditions which has to be met to get the most of it , We usually either Over Charge a battery or Under charge ( Deep Discharge ) a battery , this is the main cause for a battery to fail slowly and continuously .
      So in your case too i can only tell it for sure the cells can actually last long depending on the design ( I mean each company produces it in a different design ) not all cells are same and alike , If that was the case then there would be no more than one company producing them .
      So my line is even each cell is slightly different in its composition , It is not exactly 100 % identical , Since this is how mass production in factories work . The little changes can change everything. ( tolerance +/- )
      Finally your laptop battery is not able to hold more charge it its cells ( End of Life ) this is evident in the voltages its is displaying , So make sure all the cells in the battery are of same voltage ( Nearest ) and try it, Am sure you can get better result and your problem would be solved
      Cheers !
