My first no man's sky planet was a moon with mild poison fog. Poison plants, slime monsters and a muddy brown color to the ground. Honestly couldn't be happier with it. I was stoked
CommanderTurtle even more legit than the video says! The huge rescue was over 65,000 light years from the bubble! Not just 142 light years, truly insane what their dedication is!
Crazy to think about - complex tools to stimulate our senses and make us feel pain or satisfaction in the games...an automated system for feeding and defecating...you could stay locked in forever.
Hype to see No Mans Sky on here. The game is truly amazing. And the amount of updates it has received in recent months has changed the game. Hello Games is what every developer should be
@@CompassIIDX probably only talking about the part that they didn't just leave the game and still kept working on it to make it an actual amazing game which very less devs do
I feel like an honorable mention should've been space engine. Not exactly a game by any means but it is so vast and infinite that it deserves a nod for sure.
no man's sky is such a fun experience. it's not the action packed space game you might be looking for, but it's honestly such a surreal reflective experience to go from barren planet to barren planet and feel that somehow awesome loneliness seep through your bloodstream
It is indeed but sadly, for all it's charm and ambience; I am bred on more Action-orientated and plot-driven games and it _does_ seem ultimately like half an actual game here. Hello Games never were able to overlay an actual thicker plot into the core game. Exploring and building/upgrading is great but I just really want to shoot some invading aliens more than often. Especially in a space game!
Feel like I should chime in. 142 light years is a very small number when a kitted Exploration ship can do 300+Ly jumps with Neutron boost (my Anaconda could hit about 303Ly I believe).
Well, No Man's Sky can be a bit lonely, but there are always fleets warping next to you in space and pilots flying above you and now even more life in the game
I'm not gonna be surprised if the bots on these games started to have existential crisis and question their existence. Or even started their own religion
What I thought was really cool with Elite Dangerous was when the game procedurally generated an actual earth like planet system of Trappist-1. It was a system that was relatively close to the coordinates and size found within the Milky Way.
It would be lovely if the Star Wars franchise was developing an open world full-scale galaxy-wide game with all of the planets, ships, factions, weapons, people, eras etc. That is literally my dream game🤩. I understand that it would take a tremendously LONG time to develop, but it would be well worth the wait👌
And you can choose if you want to be a smuggler fighting for money or be a jedi and Rise through the ranks or even become a sith and lead armies against the republic. Now That Would sell money.
Minecraft is even bigger now, as of the 1.18 Caves & Cliffs update (Nov 24th, 20221). The sky limit and bottom of the worlds were both increased 64 blocks. The bedrock of the world is now at -64 instead of 0 and the roof of the world is now 320 instead of 256, and we now have terrain generation that can on occasion reach 256 blocks tall instead of only 128. That is an overall increase of 16% in both directions! So even the smallest one on this list... just got bigger.

Also theres 2 Trillion galaxies that we have not discovered yet, but we only discovered only like 8 or 9 galaxies. We are not alone in this vase Universe of ours. There can be another Universe and even more Galaxies than us. We are not alone. Sure we think theres aliens and that, but there can be other humans that pass away and moved on to another galaxy and planet called Heaven.

I appreciate No man Sky, but I love Elite Dangerous simply because I’m a huge astronomy nerd and it’s cool to play in our galaxy and be able to go to real life places and nebulas.
Basically the same sentiment. NMS is a chill game, but I think Elite just nails the space exploration feel so much better. Instead of investing £1500 in a better telescope, I can visit space in VR with Elite Dangerous.
I don't really think space games should be included when the title is **worlds** bigger than Earth. By definition, *any* space based game will be bigger than Earth.
I myself play Elite Dangerous and a couple of months ago I went out to Beagle Point which is one the furthest points from our solar system in my explorer Imperial Cutter clocked up 80,536.63LY and took me two months to get out there.
Why would the world maintain internet for 10 years just to have you sit on your ass at home to play games. If you arent working and paying the internet bills how is that company going to survive anywhere near 10 years?
Moral of the story: Space is huge and many games can simulate the sheer vastness of the universe we live in. It makes you and I feel insignificant and minuscule.
Important to note about Eve. It's all on a single server. And major battles like you depicted, you have to inform the admins as the server can be crashed. lol Just try entering Jita during primetime game hours.
It's that boring feeling that's amazing. I spent hours in elite dangerous being a glorified space trucker because of how immersive it felt and the mesmerizing music that plays as you fly throughout the Galaxy
Tbh I was really lucky to find a planet right in the system of which I spawned in, it has no sentinel activity and is labeled as “paradise planet”. It is perfect for life and has an awesome view because of the clear stars and the planet’s rings. My prayers with the people looking through entire systems to find their paradise planet👍👍 Edit: btw the game is No man’s sky
9:13 bro the fuel rats have helped me out too. I was stuck in space with no gas. I’m a complete noob at that game 😂. I thought that was really cool what they did. I made friends with one of those guys on Xbox and still friends til this day.
In the old elite game called Frontier Elite 2 on the Amiga/DOS they also had a stupidly big map, insane when you consider they managed to fit it all on 2 floppy disks, but the galaxy map would just endlessly scroll, one day I wanted to see if I could find the edge I scrolled for 10-15 minutes straight and it just kept going, then suddenly the fuel ticker which indicated how much fuel was needed to jump to that point bugged out and looped back to 0 so I managed to cheat the system and hyper jump over a hundred thousand light years in one jump for only a couple of fuel, 10 year old me thought it was the most amazing thing ever!
I still have my PC versions of both Elite and Frontier. Actually, the Frontier box is less than a metre from me right now, but in over 40 attempted games of Frontier, it always ended the exact same way: as soon as I made a jump to another system, the physics would glitch and I couldn't accelerate in any direction other than the one I was facing when I dropped back to sublight. Oh, I could turn and fire my thrusters to go back the way I came, but even then, I would still only accelerate towards the star. The autopilot would try its hardest to accelerate me towards my destination, right up to the point where the star it actually accelerated me towards destroyed the ship. I never found a solution to that...
Saddens me that because of how Elite accesses drive space, it's incompatible with FAT32 and this renders saves essentially useless. I used to have a problem if I moved the save files (or if Defrag screwed with them) so my guess is it wrote to an unusual part of the drive sector, maybe what DOS interprets as the end of it. I'd love a way round that - my old saves are long gone, but making new ones would be great 💚
The introduction of aliens in Elite Dangerous is by far one of the most ambitious, interesting, and awesome things Devs have done in games. If you take in to account the vastness of Elite Dangerous, implementing aliens like that without telling anyone and creating a real sense of discovery and fear for players is literally one of the greatest things someone could do in a game like that. It makes it feel like a real world, contributes to the vastness 10x fold and makes you want to engage with the game even if you don't physically play it. Like a story unfolding or an event in history. Because of that, I would argue Elite Dangerous is the "largest" game out there, nothing is quite like that in terms of a massive world with truly unknown secrets waiting to be uncovered.
shame that warp travel and landing is so cumbersome and awful, the community super toxic and the control scheme horrendous, that i had to leave the game after some months. i got the game for 11 euros but still i wish i could have gottne the refund earlier
@@TolerableFBoys it looks good. Content is in hands of devs, maybe they didn't make enough money. But the try they did in creating that game seems pretty good
POKO unfortunately the devs seem to not give a shit about the game anymore and don’t realize the potential E:D has. The “story” with the aliens hasn’t been continued for months, players are kept waiting for YEARS for requested features, only for the devs to absolutely fuck up said features on release. And on top of all that, the dev team just refuses to communicate properly with the community, and even now with beta testing of new updates, they won’t even give players the right tools to test new features.
I mean I definitely wont go for nerve gear that would be so dangerous. Ill definitely go for very realistic vr instead or like a giant room where it will change you into something else and you can like walk around inside the online game.

Megaton Rainfall sits in the corner, sad and alone. "In my game you can literally fly away from the galaxy until it turn into a dot and disappears, and you can enter other galaxys and you can explore literally all of the observable universe"

I didn’t know about this one but I played Elite on the Commodore 64 WAAY back in the day
Those were the days mannn
