I planned on speeding up video and turning off the music, like I usually do, but after hearing first bars of 1812 Overture I'll watch it normally, man, big respect to You!
I loved that wet wash to get the dirty look, amazing work and one of my all time fav aircraft. Just wondering what happened to basic modeling, I can't find him anymore..I hope nothing serious has happened I have known Rob from day one here.
Looking great so far! Painting question: Sometimes I use the paintbrush with the Testors Enamel paint (do you use enamel or acryllic?), and resultantly the finish is glossy and doesn't always look good... it looks unfinished. But with the airbrush, the same paint produces a more flat, non glossy coat. Which type base is used in the paint and do you only use a brush for touch ups and small detailing? Thank you.
Good choice of music very fitting to your videos. Will also start building models, now that I've seen that it can be done in a more pro way. and not just as they are in the box. Greetings from Denmark :-)
Wow !!!!! What a great idea to use hypodermic needle when some scribing work is needed !! How can you find these creative ideas I' m really impressed, and as you now that's why scale modeling requires creativity ingenuity :D
Reg rasied elevator. They probably locked the elevator as a protection (i e, to stop the elevator from flapping in the wind and/or releaving stress on the hinges, perhaps someone reading knows more). Anyhow... The way they did that probably was with a loop of (insert propper material) around the stick fastening it in "elevator up" (back) position. They could also just have used the seat belt to do it...
Absolutely correct. This is how you normally park planes even today, you loop the seatbelt around the joystick to avoid the wind catching the ailerons and the elevators and possibly damaging the actuator mechanism. The elevators will then be parked in a lifted position.
Question; I have been using vallejo black game wash after decaling. It seems to dry so fast, that even after a few minutes, it's almost impossible to remove with damp paper towel. Should I be using something different? I have had to resort to using airbrush thinner and paper towel to remove.
Arthur, Vallejo game wash are acrylic-based. They do dry fast and are not meant to be removable like the wash David uses in his videos. Acrylic washes are used to shade (as a color filter) over the base color on miniatures and to emphasize recesses. To use the same technique as David, you have two options. Option one: you make a wash with thinned oil paints, use it over glossy clear finish (to protect the underlying paint) and then remove the excess with mineral spirits (David has some videos about that too). Option two: just buy the Tamiya washes (which are enamel based) or AK Interactive enamel washes (essentially the same as Tamiya). These will give you more time to dry and will be removable with thinner (Mineral Spirits, typically).
I see you put all this beautiful detail into the inside of the plane, but then the two halves of the fuselage completely cover your work. Why do you bother detailing it if no one will ever see it?
What a combination watching an expert at model building and listening to classical music at the same time. Keep up the good work.
The 1812 Overture. Love it. Great build too, David. Thanks.
As always your works are just wonderful. what a pleasure watching your plastic models. Thanks a lot for your sharing.
Everything you have done looks like it could be in a museum, on display.
It's great to be getting regular updates of your brilliant work, David. It would be great to see you build and weather a rally car :)

This is great news. Thank you so much. I like to listen to classical music in making models, so from now I will use it for all future videos.

Hello! What paint did you use to post-shade the interior? Or is it not paint?

intense 👍
That`s a real huge project! seems like this kit is not good on group?too much fix work and gaps.

I will open all covers, so a lot of them are will be visible.
All that sanding….. pass 😂
Did anyone noticed, that me 262 reminds abit a shark? Oh... A flying shark:)
I noticed it when I built one in 1:72nd scale
