Donkey Kong wasn't gonna be the secret fighter at first. At first it was meant to be peach, AKA princess peach of the mushroom kingdom, but the idea was scraped because Miyamoto couldn't bear the thought of a woman getting punched in the face, which is understandable, but still it would've been interesting to see what kind of nice set she would've had. Hope Miyamoto reconsiders the idea in a future punch-out.
I can see two ways how that could've played out: 1. Her moveset is a bit like her moveset in Smash. 2. She attacks with the power of rapid mood swings, like in her own game.

Doc Louis is a former heavyweight boxing champ, and I really want him to have his own campaign mode or something where you get to play through his rise to the belt in the next Punch Out game. Also, he's the one who taught Little Mac his star punch. I feel like he's really underappreciated
I think Glass Joe's only victory was a freak victory with a lucky punch against the heavy weight champion Nick Bruiser, i read it somewhere in ONM the UK version so i'm not 100% sure.
In glass joes defense with the headgear as someone who's training in Muay Thai and boxing with people who are already pros, headgear does jack squat even sparing with a pro. You still feel everything

For anyone wondering, Glass Joe's one victory was a technicality vs Nick Bruiser, the final boss of Super Punch Out, when you beat Nick Bruiser but don't get a record time, you will see at that bottom G.Joe.
