I only recently found if of Moses’ passing. In my opinion, laoshu was destined to be one of the people who truly changed the world. He showed that deep down, cultures held no animosity towards one another and that we were simply divided by language barriers. I saw some of his video's last year. But I didn't know he has passed until yesterday. Since then, I have been watching his videos for hours. I needed drive to learn Spanish and he has given me that drive...maybe even learn more languages. And man, as a black guy I never thought I would see two black men talking to each other in Japanese.

About 25 years ago, working late in the office one day, the cleaning crew arrived. They were ladies from Poland, and all their conversation was in Polish. Then I was floored when their supervisor came by, an African-American, and he conversed with them in what seemed to me, speed, little apparent repetition, response of the ladies, to be fluent Polish. So I engaged him in conversation. "You speak fluent Polish?" I questioned/observed. He said not really fluent. I said from the military, in intelligence, Monterrey school. Nope, learned from being around the crew for several years. I was stunned, impressed, awe-struck. Some people just have the gift! I regularly traveled to Asia in my job. I can count to 10 in putonghua and thai, plus a few more phrases in each. You have to make allowance for tones. I fracture Spanish, only in the present tense and with pronunciation muy feo. All you folks that really speak two or more languages leave me awe-struck.
Every time I hear Moses say he's gonna go to a country some day I get a bit sad but then realize how much he made me smile in his short time here and I don't feel so bad

When I hear Japanese (which is the only language that I study,) I light up when I can understand it. I can only imagine what a native speaker must feel when a foreigner tries learning their language for them.
