You have success ! I was given a similar trimmer by a neighbor who gave up on his. It is a 2015 model with several differences. They have gone through modifications to overcome design issues. Mine has a purge bulb with THREE nipples and no choke lever. Another Tuber found METAL replacement recoil starter paws. My bulb disintegrated and finding a bulb with 3 inlets is tricky. MTD has designed a drill assist tool with clutch bearings that helps to avoid plastic paw breakage. The triple nipple purge bulb is a design change for no choke models I have viewed at least 5 other Tubers who have had Troy-Bilt models and recommend avoiding purchasing these trimmers if you don't have tools and repairing experience. I read numerous replies in order to save time and frustration....or costly bills from repair shops. Thanks for your video. I am in Houston so we are fellow Texans....and the noises in the background are doves and cicadas....not rattlesnakes as one viewer commented. Now let's get back to work......and be safe.
Thank you for providing details on the "Starter Pawl Kit". Troy-Bilt was showing it included in the short block and not detailing the part. Your video was great at helping me describe the part. I found a replacement in seconds.
I bought one of those during a lapse of judgment. The starter pawls are weak plastic and I put 2 sets on in 2 years. Pretty much gutless for power and after 2 years of non ethanol gas the carb started acting up. I cut my losses at that point and bought a commercial trimmer. Been happy ever since.
Lap in judgement.......too damn funny. All my buddies that end up purchasing crap do it after mid night while drinking watching those QVC junk channels.
I did an Amazon search for “trimmer fuel line kit” and an MTD fuel line kit cam up in the results. The kit comes with fuel line, fuel filter and the wire with the hook end for pulling the fuel line up. Hope this helps. Sorry, I don’t have a part number. I’ve also seen those kits at Home Depot and Tractor Supply.
You can make your own. You just need to piece of thin rigid wire like 8" long, then bend a hook 1/4" from the end. Slide it in the hole in the top of the tank so it comes out the fill neck. The magic is that you have to cut the end of the fuel line at a sharp angle then slide it over the hook in the wire. Pull the wire back through the hole until the point of the angle-cut fuel line comes through the hole, then grab that point with a needle nose plier and tug it through the hole the desired length. Easy peasy
Granted Im watching this at 3:30 A.M., so kinda tired. But did you address the straight nipple that's NOT on the carb?? It's going into the trimmer body, real close to the front shaft. I can't find ANY info as to where this 3rd line goes!! My 675 EC has a chock and only a two pole primer bulb..... I'm Lost!! Please Help....my yards looking like a Hippie!!!
I have the same trimmer, choke with two nipples on the primer 😜. Don't recall seeing a nipple that's "not on the carb" going into "the trimmer body". There are three lines. One is the main supply line coming from the filter in the tank to a straight nipple on the back of the carb. Next is the drain line from the center nipple on the primer back to the other hole in the top of the tank. Third is from the curved nipple on the bottom of the carb up to the small nipple on the primer.
Those plastic pawl are the Achilles tendon on this model. I've replaced them only for them to break again. That's why they sell the special 5 sided tool for starting with your drill. Way super poor design. Glad you got it fixed, I'm a fan of the 4 stroke weed eaters, just not this model.
I made the mistake of buying one of these Troy built 4 strokes several years ago. It’s a piece of junk. I got tired of fixing it and bought an electric.

Did you just make that fuel line puller? Fishing line and a small fishing hook on a key ring?
It's available with fuel line kits. I use a pair of locking forseps to grab the line from inside the tank.

Mine won’t start and the bulb is empty. Thanks for the video. 👍🏻
What size line do you use for the gas line.
Where did you get the pull wire tool ? I really need one or two of them 😊
Let me know please

What happens if you put much oil in it
Thanks for sharing. Be nice if you had a friend with a 3D printer to make hard to find parts. I enjoy your real world videos... 👍and SUBSCRIBED.
Thank you sir
i knew you could do it
Alright! Alright!
Sounds like you have a rattlesnake next to your microphone

Do you have rattlesnakes as pets? *background*
Yea, it sounded like crickets or a sprinkler running.
@@dkupy100 Maybe the neighbour has such a nice garden; it needs a lot of water.
Buy Echo or Stihl!
Son buenos trimmers si o no.
No. It will last about 3 years then start to degrade.
