Richard Diamond, Private Detective - The Richard Barton Case - 1949

Dick Powell stars as Richard Diamond, Private Detective.
This episode, titled "The Richard Barton Case", is the very first episode of the series, initially released on April 24, 1949.
A distraught father asks Diamond to prove whether or not his son killed a man, or was framed for the murder by a gang of thugs trying to break their friend out of prison.
Richard's fee, $100 per day, equates to $1,094 per day in 2021 dollars.
The series would run for four years on radio, and became a TV series in the late 50s, starring David Jansen.
Richard Diamond, Private Detective was created by Blake Edwards.
