I had this problem just now and it's sad to have to babysit a $200 plus set of earbuds, but this video worked flawlessly and thank you!
Glad to help!
Yea, kinda bs. probably getting the Apple ones if this happens again
Yeah, those motherfuckers are just kidding with that shit
I was worried because my sister got me these for Christmas and it’s only been a few days since I had them.
I hear ya! My earbuds were also a gift-- I’m about to return them if this doesn’t work. 🤞🏽
Thanks man, I’ll never buy these again that’s for sure. So many pairing and connection issues it’s insane.
Same issue am done with bose
Thank you! I’ve had this problem 3x over the years and I always came here to your video to fix - which it has every time!
Glad to hear that. This video will always be here too.
I came here twice to fix mine in a span of just having it for a week, can't believe I gotta babysit my $200 earbuds, but this worked so thank you ,just subscribed to you
You're welcome and thanks for subscribing!
Thank you!! You’re the only person who could actually help me. They hardly have any useful help resources.
You’re very welcome
I got them yesterday, they were dope last night, go to the gym today to enjoy my new expensive headphones and the left one was really quiet. Got so sad, and your video made me happy all over again, thanks, liked and subbed!

Thank you so much. I had exactly same problem an hour ago, and you just made my day!
Mine is with Galaxy S21+ Android by the way.
Glad to help! Thanks for you r feedback.
Thank you for this! I panicked when the left earbud stopped working after only having had these a month. I've come to rely on them heavily to block the noise from inconsiderate neighbors - they're the only comfortable thing that has yet proven to work - and I was going to be SO SAD if I had to return them. This did the trick and was much more straightforward than a lot of what I saw on Bose' customer forum.
I’m glad my video helped you! I know how you feel too because I use my ear buds every day to block the noise from my inconsiderate neighbours and these Bose ear buds really are a life saver.
Same exact thing happened to me. I have really obnoxious neighbors too. As soon as I see them I immediately walk back inside. They know I don't like them.
This exact fix is on the Bose troubleshooting app. And it didn’t work for me. The left earbud constantly starts to scream static and then stops working every time. I had to return them and get the Sony’s. Haven’t had a single problem w the Sony’s, but the noise canceling is nowhere near as good.
@@kittylady6946 I don't know what to tell you - this solution works for me every time it happens. And I absolutely love these earbuds - probably the best purchase I ever made. I'm sorry you didn't have as positive an experience with them.
I know I’m so disappointed. The Bose QC were my first ever experience with noise canceling, suggested to me as I moved into a very loud apartment and I have a very important year with a new job. The moment I put them in I fell in love. The fit, the unbelievable noise canceling, the comfort. And then within an hour and every single day for a week the screaming static and failure of the left bud. These Sony’s are decent, but nowhere near the quality, fit, comfort and ANC of the Bose. I wouldn’t straight exchange for another pair because I’ve read too many people with the same issue and for $300 it made me mad. I might try one more time though…
The problem with these earbuds suddenly not producing sound, despite the noise cancellation and system noises still working, is still happening a year later! But thank you for this, reconnecting fixed the bug. I hope Bose gets this glitch out of later versions.
You’re welcome
Thank you so much, Tom! I couldn't get my left ear bud to work, and spent over an hour trying to find the solution. Lo and behold, your vid did the trick! Muchly appreciated!
Glad it helped!
@@TomsTechReviews Tom, I hope it's okay to ask this question....I'm attempting to connect my earbuds to my laptop. They are paired fine, but I cannot seem to connect (it's worked for months; now, it doesn't.) I like to switch between my phone and the laptop. Thank you so much, Tom!
@@seaangel4444 Hi Cher, I've had a similar issue with my ASUS laptop which I resolved by rebooting my laptop. I assume you are pressing the charging case button as well to disconnect them from your smart phone. If rebooting doesn't work check if your laptop has the latest windows update and drivers which could fix the issue too.
@@TomsTechReviews Hello mate i have a problem with my earbuds hope can you help me pls. When i open case they are still flashing red and white
I had this issue just now and was wondering what to do.. your video helped me fixed this issue on my earbuds after doing exactly what you have mentioned ..many many thanks👍🏻👍🏻
You're welcome
Thanks very much for this!
My left earbud was stuck on a low volume and would not increase/decrease with the right earbuds.
BOSE support told me to try repairing the earbuds by pressing Bluetooth button for 10 seconds to clear pair list and reconnect.
This did not work.
Your procedure worked perfectly.
By connecting the power cable and pressing Bluetooth button for 30 seconds, this performs a full factory reset instead of just clearing pairing list.
Thanks for your video.
My Bose QC earbuds are now working perfectly and both increase/decrease volume as they should.
This video should fix a lot of issues.
Thanks for sharing
You're welcome. Thanks for your feedback.
Thank you I had tried every other way of disconnecting, reconnecting, shutting my phone down and restarting, nothing worked until I followed your process. Worked great!!
You’re very welcome. Glad my video helped
I'm trying to use this method but my left earbud, the one that isn't working, doesn't show lights at all though it has been recharging a long time in a fully charged case. Any ideas? Thanks!
Thank you so much! My left earbbud had stopped responding to volume changes. And the app troubleshooting only suggested up to the 5 second step, your instructing adding the 30 seconds holding down Bluetooth, which I think is what ultimately fixed the issue for mine. Thank you so very much!
You’re very welcome. Glad your earbuds are fixed.
Thank you Tom! My buds were connecting to my PC and phone, but only making a connecting ping noise in the right bud. This method fixed the issue!
Glad to help! Enjoy your ear buds.
Thank you soooo much!!! I was so scared when this happened to me because I just bought these earbuds. At first, your solution didn't work, but then I did it again and it worked!!!
You're very welcome
September 2021. I'm glad I found this video. You're a LIFE SAVER!!! Thanks Tom. :)
Glad to help!
I’ve been going ballistic all week over this . Cheers mate helped me out 👍
Glad to help
You don't know how much I love you right now man!
Glad I could help!
The only "fix Bose Earbuds" video that worked. THANK YOU.
Glad to help
YES! thanks Tom. Just got new Sport Earbuds, and this happened on day 3.
all other support threads just say hold the bluetooth button for 10sec to wipe the bluetooth list - but holding it for 30sec ‘reboots’ the earbuds.
Glad my video helped
Thank you for this! I took my buds out of their case this morning and they were acting crazy. The start up chime would echo a few times and the volume was much quieter than it should be. I even tried using the Bose app, but it didn't help. If I changed "modes", it would suddenly be louder in one ear versus the other. Just crazy stuff.
Thank you so much!
You’re very welcome
I had the same problem, also with my left earbud. It took me two tries but eventually it worked! Thank you! I was so worried too, having bought the earphones not even a month ago. Funny thing is, the starting sound or the voice saying the battery percentage worked fine on the left earbud, just music or videos were mute so I guess it really was down to the Bluetooth connection and thankfully not to a broken earbud :)
Glad I could help!
Is it still working fine? Do you still recommend them? Thank you.
Thanks a million ... just had the same problem with my left earbud ... this solved the issue and saved me writing to Bose support :-)
You’re welcome
This worked for my (different) problems, you're a legend, cheers mate.
Glad to help"
Is there a fix for the earbuds not charging at all? I just got these a week ago and the left earbuds suddenly stopped charging. I know it’s not the case because the right earbuds charges on both sides.
Really alarming for a $300 product to have this kind of issue so early on
Hi! Did you succeed in making it work back? I just bought mine for christmas and got the exact same issue
my right one has done this exact thing :/

Awesome video! Was about to give up and buy a new pair. You just saved me $100+. THANKS!
Glad to help!
Thank you I've had them for a few years and this was the first time this has happened
Glad to help
Oh my gosh thank you!!!! Best blessing today! My volume was all kind of off and backwards. All fixed now!
You’re very welcome. Glad it’s fixed.
Thank you sir, I was pulling out the remainder of what used to be my hair trying to figure this out and then found your video, and now thanks to you, problem solved!
Glad I could help!
@@TomsTechReviews Dude, I had another problem with the connection, all I had to do was to swing back to this video tut and for another life saving experience! Thankx!
Thanks this happened with my new QC II s today, tried Boses steps to no avail but then saw your video and it worked perfectly they are now working again .
Glad to help
Wow. I'm shocked that the instructions in the video worked. I would give 2 thumbs if I could. Instructions were very simple and easy to follow. So similar to everything I already tried like resynching without the charger plugged in and yet the whole combination of everything in this video seems to have done the trick. Thank you
You're very welcome!
You needn't be shocked. These are the same instructions you've got in your earbud manual. It's called 'reading'.
I had an issue with my left earbud not connecting. Tried all the troubleshooting procedures and had no success. Bose then recommended me sending them back, I did and they sent me a brand new pair within ten days, no questions asked. Great service.
Glad to hear!
Thank you so much...I was "going bonkers" trying to get my left bud to function! Cheers!
Glad I could help!
Thank you sooo much sir 🙏 ...definitely thought bose had disappointed me with this exquisite product but luckily you saved the day 💪
My pleasure
Just used this tutorial just now and YES🙏🏾‼️‼️‼️‼️ THANK YOU SO MUCH

Bless up. I don't know what the problem was but I followed all the steps and fixed it!!
Glad to help!
Thank you sooooooo much I had legit bought them a few weeks back and my left bud started to fail, again thank you very much🤙
Glad I could help!
Oh man you were the only one who actually helped me, I've waste a lot of hours trying to fix it ✨🙌🏻
Glad to help
Had no sound, but would still connect. This worked perfectly. Thanks!
You're welcome
Nice one. Worked perfect after both earbuds wouldn’t play anything at all even though they were paired ! 👍
Glad to help!
Omg thank you so much I was so annoyed when it only worked for one side definetly leaving a like
love the video. glad bose really cares about their younger generation of customers. their marketers in charge of clv should be fired and hire me.
Thank you! This worked after two tries. I was about to get them exchanged for new ones at Best Buy using their protection plan.
Glad to help!
This worked great. The 30s of pressing the button did the trick. Thanks!
You're welcome
You da man! The left bud stopped working after an upgrade to Android 11 this morning. Back in business now! Thanks!
Glad to help!
Thank you so much Sir 🤗 your video saved a panic attack 😅😅 happened with left earbud. Now fixed ✌️
You're welcome
Thanks a lot for the tutorial! I had this issue just now and freaked out thinking I had to get rid of them but your video worked like magic!
You're very welcome
Thank you a lot! I've had these 350 dollars earbuds (price in Denmark) for 4 days and they started this with the left earbud. Works perfectly now again. Thanks.
You're welcome
Hello, thank you for this video not only did my headphones have this similar problem but I also notice when I which to a different device the sound was really weird to the point where if I had it to the lowest sound I would hear alot of the sounds from the left ear and when I had it to the highest setting more of the sound came from the right and when i had the sound just right it was balanced. At first I thought I messed up my ears but after resetting the headphones its back to normal.
Thank you for making this video it really helped...
You're welcome. Glad my video helped
This works for Bose Sports Earbuds model too. It's a shame they don't have this 30 seconds method in the manual. Randomly refused to connect and it drove me crazy all day. Thanks a lot! 🙏
You're welcome and thanks for the feedback.
Yep definitely saving this vid!
Yay!!!!The sound came back on after I followed the steps in the video and I have the BOSE SPORTS EARBUD.
Glad to hear! Thanks for your feedback.
Thanks a lot. U saved my day. The trick is that the case has to be under charge
Glad to help!
"I have found a workaround for this issue. That is turn off In-Ear Detection.
To do this, using Bose app, connect it to your earbuds and turn it off in the settings.
Bose apps > Your earbuds > Setting (top right corner) > Preferences > In-Ear Detection."
Got this from reddit, works for me
Fixed the same issue with Bose sports thank you 😊
Gracias por tu video. Me has alegrado el día porque estaba pensando en devolver estos auriculares que la verdad son muy muy buenos pero tienen ese problema de la conexión del Bluetooth
Thank you so much I paid a lot for these you saved me!

You’re very welcome
Worked well. Thank you!
Great to hear!
Hi from Texas and thank you for this video. I was cleaning my earbuds (I have this exact bose ones in your video), I removed the silicone pads, and I just noticed, the left earbud has like whole where the speaker is, and the right one doesn't, it has like a cover where the little speaker goes. Are they supposed to look like that? Thank you!
THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS!!!
You're welcome
This video helped. Thank you!
I have an alternative (much slower method) I let the batteries drain then recharge. It takes hours but it works. (In case this didn’t work for some people) 👍🏽
You're welcome. Thanks for the tip.
Bryan, what't the best way to drain the battery...just leave them outside of the case?
@@pmfahey leave them out of the case while playing audio. Best to do it at night so you wake up to drained batteries. It takes 4-5 hours to drain
This is amazing, Thank you so much Tom!
You’re very welcome
This did not work for me unfortunately. I have tried everything on the bose support website as well. Does anyone have any other ideas? Should I just send them in for a service?
Thank you! This worked to reset my earbuds to my laptop

I can hear on my left earbud again! Thank you!

Thx bud. Got em working. Appreciate the video

I did this 5 times and the right earbud still not working. Do you know how can I fix it? I was reading that everybody got the problem with their left earbud but in my case the problem is with the right one.
