I agree with you Daz that Mommy needs a wine book is genuinely a sexist book as i am a father of 2 who works then comes home, cooks and cleans then spend time with my daughters as i haven't seen them most of the day. I genuinely feel some books like this should not exist as it is stereotypical towards the male gender.
i am 14 and ever since i was born, my dad has managed to tackle some of the following: -5 hours of sleep -cleaning -cooking -looking after 2 kids -working over half of his waking hours and hes doing a bloody good job

My dad is AMAZING with babies/toddlers. He’s a really lovable, friendly guy. When my sister had her baby and my nephew started crying, my dad made him stop in a second. I was like “How??? Your youngest child is 15 already”. Some people were just meant to be parents. My little cousin, she’s 14 and she’s so good with little kids. She helps babies when they need it, knows how to make them stop crying instantly, is literally the best babysitter, and she’s so patient with kids. I was like “Girl, you were BORN to be a mom, like seriously”

I get the second kickstarter, their saying the 1 in 5 african families can't afford schooling for their kids so instead they use the money that they would usually use for electricity and stuff like that to go to school and they get their electricity from the cows and the batteries that they charged up while they were at school

What if you do have enough funds to make a simple solar panel device that can make a less than perfect but lasting change? A solar panel is basically free electricity. You can use the same money to power one house or use the same amount to make this on a school and A. provide a bit of electricity for an entire community B. let people know that if they want to not pay for gas they need to ship their kids to school C provide a consistent souse of light for children to study in the evening (which is actually a problem for kids who go to school then they help their parents and only have time to study in the evening). This is not perfect for sure and I don't know if it is properly researched or tested, or if it even works (there are after all plenty of scams out there). But I would be shocked if you can find me one way to do charity work that is absolutely optimal from every possible perspective.

I am pretty sure that an electric company, as well as, the local government needs to get involved to expand infrastructure and that can get messy. For example the red cross tried to help people in Nepal after the big earthquakes. Corrupt politicians asked for large bribes in order to let their equipment through. So a lot of the donations to the ed cross directly funded corruption. It is a very complicated process indeed. Though I have to agree that the programs that show more results are the ones where systemic changes have been introduced involving multiple local stakeholders and not one-offs like these.

I get the second kickstarter, their saying the 1 in 5 african families can't afford schooling for their kids so instead they use the money that they would usually use for electricity and stuff like that to go to school and they get their electricity from the cows and the batteries that they charged up while they were at school

@@got500won5 What if you don't have money or the access to decision makers (especially if the local government is corrupted)? What if you do have enough funds to make a simple solar panel device that can make a less than perfect but lasting change?
A solar panel is basically free electricity. You can use the same money to power one house or use the same amount to make this on a school and A. provide a bit of electricity for an entire community B. let people know that if they want to not pay for gas they need to ship their kids to school C provide a consistent souse of light for children to study in the evening (which is actually a problem for kids who go to school then they help their parents and only have time to study in the evening).
This is not perfect for sure and I don't know if it is properly researched or tested, or if it even works (there are after all plenty of scams out there). But I would be shocked if you can find me one way to do charity work that is absolutely optimal from every possible perspective.
@@got500won5 I do not disagree with you. I am questioning how 50.000 would make lighting systems and recharge stations in remote locations though. I am pretty sure that an electric company, as well as, the local government needs to get involved to expand infrastructure and that can get messy.
For example the red cross tried to help people in Nepal after the big earthquakes. Corrupt politicians asked for large bribes in order to let their equipment through. So a lot of the donations to the ed cross directly funded corruption.
It is a very complicated process indeed. Though I have to agree that the programs that show more results are the ones where systemic changes have been introduced involving multiple local stakeholders and not one-offs like these.
@@nefelikousi9782 When the government is corrupt, people try to take things into their own hands by inventing things. At least somebody is trying to solve a problem, and trying to help others even if we don’t fully understand the depth of their problems.
