Perfect level of detail. Thank you! Yes, as others have said any driver should know how to replace a 12V battery, but in an electric car I still had some questions and it answered them: 1. How do I get that annoying engine bay cover off without breaking anything? Simply pull it up as it is held on with 4 rubber poppers 2. Is this just a normal 12V battery? - Yes, available at any auto store (mine cost $200 from AutoZone: Duralast Gold Battery H5-DLG Group Size H5/LN2 650 CCA) 3. When I reconnect it are there any weird procedures I have to go through to reset computers/charging cycles? - No, only beware that obvious things like the date/clock have reset. 4. Why does a car that is basically a Lithium Ion battery on wheels need a 12 Lead-Acid battery? To run the electronics on a separate 12v system Incidentally, my battery threw a "Final Warning" error code without producing any previous codes and when I checked it was the original one from 2015 so I guess 5 years on a LA battery isn't too bad. Incidentally, anyone who really though a 10 minute video would show you how to replace the entire battery pack should consider what they were expecting. Having dais that. it would be great if the battery pack was upgradeable to make up for Fiat's pathetic OEM installation. The Fiat 500e is a great little car and my only gripe is that Fiat showed minimal interest in putting in a decent power pack. I can eek out just under 100 miles from ours, but I did see a couple of years back that some guy in Portugal was modding these with bigger packs to get 200 miles? or so and a fast charge (gotta love the US and the 120V household supply...)
Out of the batch 500e none of them has issues with the main battery, otherwise I would have replaced it. Maybe it will come, but the reliability so far is great. Range however is a joke in 2024.
I am thinking of replacing the 12V lead acid battery with a 12V 20AH lithium car battery (about $300US). They have a much longer lifespan than lead acid batteries. Typically 10 years or more, especially for one used in an EV as a 12V replacement because the energy requirements are much less than in an ICE car (no high cranking amps needed to turn over the engine, etc).
Sorry for the down vote, but anyone knows how to replace a standard lead acid battery. What I was hoping to see is how to replace THE BATTERY (the LiPo) in the 500e. :)

Thank you for the step-by-step discussion. It helped me find the right tools.
Thank you for posting this!
Same here. Hoping for the BIG battery pack replacemen, not the 12 volt.
I have the same car and the same problem.
Where did you buy the battery and where?
Thank you
The 12v battery was a big pain to replace in the 500e. Also, was expecting the main battery in this video.

Oooo yea
Should have at least posted take off negative first. Then positive. Back on positive first and negative last.
Yep. NP-PN.
Fiat 500e: 69 miles range
me: nice
LOL
Hoe wordt deze accu gevoed?
This is not a fiat 500e ! Title is wrong
I'm sorry. It is.
@@Siemi1 It would be great to mention that it is the old (2012-2019) US only model though?

Battery change in 10 minutes is very long and you really need to edit your video's
