After cutting the bait into smaller chunks, slide the hook point through the meatier portion of the cut-bait. That will ensure the hook stays in there longer and if a fish swipes at the bait, it will stay on the hook.

Whoever’s idea it was for you to make this video while sitting in your boat with that backdrop; let me know how I can buy that person a beer! 😎🤙🏽

Great video
Thanks for watching!
great info.....are you tying a regular knot to those octopus circle hooks or are you snelling them?
Go with whatever snug knot you feel most comfortable with. Examples include the Palomar and Uni Knot. Use whatever you have the most confidence in!
Live belly hooked
Now how do you hook your cut bait
You should take up golf if you can't figure out how to run a hook through a chunk of mullet.
After cutting the bait into smaller chunks, slide the hook point through the meatier portion of the cut-bait. That will ensure the hook stays in there longer and if a fish swipes at the bait, it will stay on the hook.
