Nice idea. Just make sure to use the old wheel to recenter the mode door to the position the new one come at.

Hi, there. Appreciate your videos. So, I'm having the same issue but the only thing is I don't get no heat from the floor. Would this be the same part that I would have to replace??? Thank you.

Hi Cee, Sorry for the late reply. I believe this actuator may also play a part in there being no floor heat. The actuator controls the flow of air to the defrost/ vents and floor. Heree is a link on how to get at it. th-cam.com/video/Pd_lrTV8Fa0/w-d-xo.html You can check my channel for the same video if the link doesn't work. You can search on TH-cam for videos on how to reset the actuators also. It's as simple as pulling a fuse and sticking it back in. Try that first before tearing into the dash. Good luck and thanks.

Hi sir, how did you unhooked that air flange piece to push it up. I need a little more room and I think that would help.

I believe that you are referring to the black tube behind the instrument cluster. Brute force. 😂 I had to use a screwdriver to pry the tube up and away just enough to get access to the upper bolt. You’ll need a very long 1/4” extension and a swivel adaptor on the end of the extension rod. Put a little tape over the swivel to keep it from flopping around as you head towards the bolt. I’m nice you get it out, don’t worry about having to put this bolt back in. Actuator works great with only two bolts which are somewhat easier to get at from the bottom. That’s if your somewhat of a contortionist. 😂
You’ll have to play around a little to get the defrost tube back on but just take your time. You’ll get it. Best part is you won’t have to do that part again. That’s right, these actuators seem to fail after a year or two. I’ve replaced mine three times now. O’Rileys has what they claim is a better one that they’ve been selling in the past. I don’t have the part number but they’ll know which one.
Good luck. Hope I answered your question.

So I buy mine from O’Reilly Auto Parts.
      There are two brands.
      Murry Climate Control
      DA1149
      And
      Motor Craft
      YH1769
The motor Craft is Fords preferred.
But Doorman makes the same one.
Again, these are the ones for a 2015 Ford Taurus SEL. Best thing is to call O’Reilly’s and give them your make and model vehicle. Also, this is for the door blend actuator up high under the dashboard. Almost directly to the right of the steering column and centered on the dashboard.
      Hope this helps.

what socket size are the 3 bolts to the actuator

      Hi Mark.
not sure. I think it might be a 7mm. you can easily check the size on the lower actuator or the one behind the glovebox. the screws are all the same size. sorry that I don’t remember. if I get a chance, I’ll check on it.
      thanks.

I got everything off and was ready to install like the young kids would say these days OMG that is such a bitch to get to even the bottom I’ll give another attempt another time when I have patients I’ll deal with the air only coming up top and bottom lol
