1954 Bendix Duomatic Restoration Project

This was filmed a week ago on Thursday. Sorry for not including any pictures of before, this is a general update of what I have been doing of late. I'll hopefully have some videos within the next week of another washer acquisition I got today. Something to replace the Maytag A207 which I generally got bored with watching, no interesting action. This new washer has quite a bit of splash and an interesting aural experience too. The Maytag will be put for sale on the Detroit area Craigslist after a good cleaning.

My mother raised five children with this exact model of the Duomatic. It required at least three large men to move it. The
trick was pulling the clothes out before they fully dried, otherwise they would bake into the sides of the drum like papier-mâché. There was an ad for the Bendix that stated that "would remove atomic dust" ;-P

The main body is repainted, I have acquired a few more necessary parts such as bearings and tonight I am hopefully taking a few smaller pieces to sand blasted at a friends house, namely the cast iron counter weights and the bottom body panel.
