Or you can also see it the other way around. My food, training, sleep and mental space is not perfect but I take Nmn every morning anyway and it inspires and motivates me to work on “the hard stuff” too :)

On another of your recent podcasts, you recommended CaAKG. I've been taking 20 grams per day of AAKG for about the last year, and am wondering if you believe there are additional benefits to CaAKG. I believe some of the research papers were using CaAKG because the percentage of AKG by weight is higher and this makes it easier to get the mice to eat more of it, but I haven't seen research that CaAKG is better, and most of the claims are coming from companies that are flacking CaAKG, probably because it is less available and 20X more expensive.
As an aside, the best thing about AKG is that if you are old and gray as I am (I'm 61), you can actually see it working. I have a lot more non-gray hairs now than when I started, even at the temples where I went gray 20 years ago. I don't really care about hair color, but I'm hoping that if it is changing my hair color, it is also doing other beneficial things...

@ 36:xx statins. I've been using Nattokinase (tried Natto, but couldn't see myself doing long-term compliance), K2 mk7 and Red Yeast. I've read 2 studies--one from Japan and one from the Netherlands which concluded that Nattokinase (or Natto if eaten consistently) were basically replacements for Statins. Thoughts?
Also, I read of a few (unknown #, but if I recall less than 5) brain hemorrhages from Nattokinase removing too much fibrin. The Japanese study (again, if recalling) stated that there were no accounts of that from individuals took Red Yeast with Natto, nor any PAD or DVT issues, or issues flying on airplanes.
    Thoughts on this?

at least 2 large epidemiological studies have found reduction in all cause mortality associated with glucosamine supplementation ; it is usually derived from shellfish and may not be appropriate for ppl with shellfish allergy

Your info made me afraid. So shall I stop taking that supplement you think.Glucosamine for joints. Can you pls explain more'🙏

@@semaaral2498 Glucosamine was found to be associated with lower all-cause mortality - a decreased risk of dying - that's a good thing. People with shellfish allergy might react to it. Like anything else, dose makes the poison and it should not be consumed above the recommended dose. Glucosamine doesn't appear to do much for joints; most of the reduction in mortality was in cardiovascular disease deaths. Please ask your doctor if you have questions or health concerns.

Why use HbA1c rather than insulin levels? Often high insulin comes years before diabetes. The average blood sugar could only be within normal parameters because of high insulin indicating insulin resistance

The thing in the US is, our medical system is really convoluted and lots of people simple can't afford basic health care or they're avoidant of it when they need it because of the debt it will put them in or their jobs don't provide medical coverage.

That’s a new one. All I can say (if true) is that everything in life is risk vs benefit. Inflammation is overwhelmingly one of the major drivers of all kinds of problems. So for me benefits outweigh risks (unless I learn more that changes my mind).
