  • In my opinion 2 of my favorite cars available to import from japan right now. Although they're both not techinally a "KEI" these 2 little jeeps are basically a kei car with double the motor making it the perfect mix! Now which one is more worth it.......

    The Sierra really is just a right hand drive samurai that we got here.

    The Pajero is definitely the winner. It has style. It has comfort. If you want to turbo it, you have the room to do it. Plus, you can't beat the price. It would be a great every day ride. The only downside I noticed is that the back seats are a bit too far forward, kinda making the back seats useless. But... How often do you really need the back seats?

    • @Waybeforethefame
      @Waybeforethefame  ปีที่แล้ว

      yeah i never have people in the back of my jimny, its just cool to have the option i guess

    What size is the engine in the Jimny? Here we got it as the Samurai with the 1.3, but Japan had a 1.0 that was basically the same motor along with a few other unrelated motors IIRC. If'n it has the 5 speed, that's likely the same transmission.

    • @Waybeforethefame
      @Waybeforethefame  ปีที่แล้ว

      The jimny sierra is a 1.3L engine. is probably the same motor as the sammy but i think the sammy is carb this one is fuel injected

    • @WanderingCactus
      @WanderingCactus ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Waybeforethefame I had a 92 Samurai as it happens, which was one of the weirdest things and the end of that truck. Yep, fuel injected, Mitsubishi IIRC, or at least the controller on the firewall behind the glove box was from them, that was to meet emissions. Another issue they faced was the shoulder belt requirement for rear seat passengers, solved by simply getting rid of the rear seat.

      @@WanderingCactus wow thats crazy this one actually has the slip seat and seat belts

    • @WanderingCactus
      @WanderingCactus ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Waybeforethefame Well, this one is a hard top while the Samurai was exclusively a soft top at that point. Jeep solved the problem on the Wrangler by redesigning the roll bar to provide an upper mounting point, something I don't think Suzuki could do, because I'm fairly certain the roll bar was just for show.
      Speaking of non-US Samurai variants, I want one of the pickups.

    How does the Pajero Jr compare in size to say a Kia Soul?

    • @Waybeforethefame
      @Waybeforethefame  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Definitely smaller not as wide for one and the interior on the kia soul is much bigger

      7:05 - 7:10, Pajero Jr. badge is clearly visible, no Pajero Mini badging.
      12:28 - 12:37, ZR-II badge is clearly visible (it's visible before that, but not as clearly or for as long), there was no Pajero Mini ZR-II, as near as I can tell (there was a VR-II, but not a ZR-II).
      Engine is 1100 CC on this one (probably actually 1,094 CC), which is consistent with the Pajero Jr. Pajero Mini has a 659cc engine (with turbo as an option).
      Pretty sure this is a Pajero Jr., not a Pajero Mini. But hey, you are welcome to go out there with a tape measure and figure out if this thing is 3,295 mm long, 1,395 mm wide, and 1,630 mm tall like a Pajero Mini or 3,500 mm X 1,545 mm X 1,660 mm like a Pajero Jr. and prove all of the badging on the vehicle wrong.
