@@KevinQ25 have you heard the parts he writes for Satyr? he's actually pretty good at writing . and its pretty hard to master parts written by someone else (who probably tailors parts to their own playstyle). music is not about being impressive anyway; that's usually a byproduct of just playing good ass music

He's just playing a dotted 8th note shuffle. The notes played on the downbeat are what you hear, he fills in those gaps with dotted 8th notes played very softly. We do this as drummers to stay in time better.

The question is…should they have had Brody or Trey do this video?? Trey doesn’t seem to want the spotlight with this band anymore even tho he’s the one recording and spending his other time with FFAK, while Brody tours with IA. Or so I’ve heard. We’re missing the massive reverb on the snare too!
Either way, glad to see this band getting the recognition they deserve!
It should be Brody because he just recently officially joined the band. That is the reason Trey doesn't want the spotlight, him and Brody are great friends and has made a great transition for Brody to shine.

@@meinlcymbals Good question. I feel like the guitar riffs of the band are what makes the band distinct, and the drum parts are usually overshadowed by that. I also know the drums are programmed on their new songs- honestly, this song in particular doesn't have any 'out of the ordinary' drum parts, in terms of technicality, when compared to other Meinl artists. All that to say, I never figured that their drum parts would warrant a play-through of this caliber, alongside all the other insane Meinl drummers. I say this as a huge Invent Animate fan
But that just goes to show it's about highlighting the artist, not necessarily the part. Because Brody is a super skilled drummer, and even in a straight-forward song like this, you can see how good his technique, timing, and dynamics are. And also how beautiful the cymbals sound ;)

@@thelastsith2706 Trey hasn’t departed from the band yet so I would say he still writes with IA. Brody is just subbing for Trey but Brody will take Treys spot either after the album is released or next year.
Why does it seem like he's sleeping while playing this?
as an instrumental, I find that I can appreciate this song and genuinely enjoy it without marcus’ vocals. The only issue I have with this song is the lack of creativity during the breakdown.
