Cover Design Process for Self-Published Thriller Book | Photoshop Speed Art

Today we want to show the process of creating an eye-grabbing book cover for Cam Walker's thriller Contrail 💥
✨We began with designing the background. The author was looking for a Chinese landscape since the story takes place mostly in China. So we added the most recognizable view - the Great Wall of China.
✨ Next, we added the silhouette of the main character and the sunset. The author highlighted that the cover should have a red color scheme and include the red setting sky. So our designer dedicated a lot of time to creating an epic sunset.
✨Finally, we retouched the image, added shadows and highlights, and adjusted the color scheme to make the final picture contrasting and attention-grabbing 🙌
The final version of the cover was changed as per the author's request.
