As a Fins fan, I 100% agree with Acho. Not to mention having homefield for 2/3 playoff games is important when there's a couple cold weather teams in the playoffs (Cleveland, KC). However, Herbert got paid without ever winning the AFC West. I'm not saying a division title isn't important but it shouldn't be the end all be all for Tua getting paid, especially if the Dolphins can win a playoff game.
Last year, it came down to the last game vs the Jets for Miami to make the playoffs - it’s unfortunate that Tua suffered the concussions that he had - that’s coaching malpractice, but best ability for any player is always availability. It doesn’t help that in “gotta have it games” he’s disappeared. Start 8-3 then go 0-4 in December last season when only one more win would’ve clinched a playoff spot. For reference; 2020: Win vs Buffalo to clinch a playoff spot (26-56 loss) 2021: Win vs Titans to keep playoff hopes alive with a white hot win streak (3-34 loss) 2022: Any of the games in December, but the most disappointing - @ Chargers (17-23 loss, but the stat sheet killed any narrative surrounding Tua and Herbert; you can’t go 10-28 for 145 yards and a TD when you’re an MVP favorite) McDaniels plays to Tua’s strengths and Tua wildly accurate with the football, but against the “elite” teams, he doesn’t play well or better yet, goes off script and starts forcing bad throws which is why he gets criticized a lot. Yes Brian Flores didn’t do anything to help Tua, but counterpoint, neither did Brandon Staley any of his three seasons and Herbert still produced. Unfortunate that he’s out for the season but everyone who’s seen most Chargers games can see why they lose, and it’s not Herbert. Can’t play “Hero-ball” every week - look at how that’s gone for Mahomes this year. Not well.
Ocho made a great point about Tua. Short term answer is the Bills. They need the win more to make the playoffs. But long-term, Tua needs to win to show the team he should be paid like a franchise QB. I personally don’t think he’s elite like Burrow/Allen/Mahomes, so I wouldn’t pay him like those guys.
Who needs the win more? Tua Who has the most pressure? Allen The reality is that Allen has proven his ability in the NFL. #4 most passing TDs since he entered the league (2018) - only 3 behind from #1, most rushing TDs by a QB since 2018. 6th most passing yards by a QB since 2018 (only Mahomes has more than him of QBs his age or younger). Acho's comments about Tua's contract situation is a real issue, because Tua really hasn't solidified his position as the star QB in Miami.

Herbert has no wins but his stats have been consistently astronomical so the Chargers had no choice

Joe burrow had free rein over the division for 2 yrs due to massive injuries to the other teams. If we being real we all know if Lamar played that game against the bengals in the playoffs then they don’t sniff a superbowl that year. And Josh Allen is just a product of Stephon diggs cause everyone was ready to kick him out the league before they went and signed Stephon
@@larry2281Lamar led the league in td passes 1 year and won 1 mvp, on the way to 2. What has burrow or Josh Allen done ? Lost a Super Bowl and lost a shoot out conference championship game ?

Josh Allen needs it to stay in the playoffs and Tua needs it to prove that he’s a franchise quarterback
If the Bills lose and miss the playoffs far more people will be at risk than Tua losing. Allen who many considered the #2 or #3 best QB in the league missing the playoffs means jobs are at risk. Sean McDermott is at risk of getting fired for missing the playoffs this year. Can't make a run if you don't make the playoffs which is a strong possibility if they don't win.

@@nickelcityyt4026Tua hasn’t cost any of the dolphins losses, Josh cost his team at least 2 L’s. On top of that, Tua is the pro bowl starter and Josh didn’t get selected. The turnovers have been a problem he has one every game, plus his stats are a little bit inflated because of his rushing TDs, 2 of them last week were QB sneaks from the 1 yard line, while Tua is the passing leader. I think Josh could use a better HC than McDermott anyway
@gregtrust5599 That's false. Tua cost them 3 games. KC in Germany, Buffalo week 4 and last week vs Baltimore. Nobody cares about the pro bowl. Tua gonna play flag football and dodgeball. I don't think Josh is too upset by that. Turnovers can be a problem, but nobody ever puts context to the numbers. A few of those INTs were off of a WRs hands. A few others were long, down the field passes like hail Mary's. Like, I can pick apart your entire argument, but you'd have to watch the games in order to see what I'm talking about. Most people just watch the numbers.
Acho always find some way to hate on lamar.
Dolphins in playoff don't mean anything if they can't get the win vs Bills.
Go Bills! I will take Josh any day with the good and bad over any other quarterback.
Yeah yes sir
‘In 2021 Lamar missed the playoffs at 8-9’. Lamar got hurt early in week 14 and they were 8-4. Lost 5 straight without him lol. Just for record Pitt made the playoffs at 9-7-1. Why would that even be a question when Miami is going to be in the playoffs, either way?
The win is very important to Josh because of what folks will be saying for the next several month while waiting for next season to start.
The win is very important to Tua because it could easily impact his contract and legacy.
As important as it is to Josh, the one game has more impact to Tua's career.
sounds like the dolphins should want to lose, They could use an excuse to not pay him as much or their other playmakers are going to disappear. Rookie contracts ending is a B

The contradictions are the JOY in watching these segments.
Allen can lose and still make the playoffs. Tua needs this win more imo. There is no doubt that Tua and the dolphins will have a better chance at beating GOOD teams at home. If they dont win, theyre out in the first round
Other way around Miami is still in it if they lose, bills possibly out if they lose
@jimaltenbernd376 that's exactly what they said. Yes, bills are definitely in if they win but they can also make it if both they and the steelers lose. They're talking like it is a definite the bills won't make it to the playoffs if they lose which is not the case.
How is Lamar not 2nd
I bet their logic is “playoff wins”

I only focused on Joy Taylor. She's gorgeous
Bills in the playoffs scary
In the 21 the Ravens were the number 1 seed in the entire AFC when he got hurt.
Why do all these talking heads put Allen on such a high pedestal? He leads the league in Turnovers every year he’s played! I understand he throws a lot of touchdowns but, how many games has he lost because of the picks he throws?! How many times has he put his team in jeopardy because he hears all the hype about being a generational talent! He does have skill but he’s reckless with it!
Fam somebody’s lying to you, Josh Allen is not leading the league in turnovers
Maybe just one year he played if that
James is awesome.
Everyone is talking about bills injuries but all of miami star players are hurt or out for the season
Joy looks like she sees ghost any time someone calls out the Dolphins
Achos take was so horrible, really. He putting a contract over the playoffs when Miami is going to pay Tua anyways. And Joy cooked him with the playoffs/injury except for Bengals part and he just looks away

Can someone tell him the bills haven’t even lost 8 games
Acho had some good kush this morning before this segment my god 😭🤣🤣
For reference;
2020: Win vs Buffalo to clinch a playoff spot (26-56 loss)
2021: Win vs Titans to keep playoff hopes alive with a white hot win streak (3-34 loss)
2022: Any of the games in December, but the most disappointing - @ Chargers (17-23 loss, but the stat sheet killed any narrative surrounding Tua and Herbert; you can’t go 10-28 for 145 yards and a TD when you’re an MVP favorite)
McDaniels plays to Tua’s strengths and Tua wildly accurate with the football, but against the “elite” teams, he doesn’t play well or better yet, goes off script and starts forcing bad throws which is why he gets criticized a lot.
Tua
Who has the most pressure? Allen
The reality is that Allen has proven his ability in the NFL.
I dont care what anybody says lamar jackson is better than joe burrow and doesnt even have the weapons joe burrownhad for years.Arm talent i dont see a difference lamar even has a bigger arm and when it comes to running lamar is all time great elite of the elite.Joe had a maguc run but his offense was the best out of all the teams they played apart from kansis city.Onyl qbs i see better than lamar are mahomes and allen but lamar and allen is pretty close.
Josh allen will not be much factor in this game james cook will.
Josu Allen obviously. 2 years ago maybe even last year the Dolphins were looking to replace Tua. No one has expected for Tua and the Dolphins to win except maybe this year. Allen tho.... we've expected to have a ring by now.

I like how this is the only show that actually gives Watson some respect, all the other shows disrespects him n doesn't bring up why he didnt play as well as we hoped, He was playing through injury all season. I hope with Chubb back next season, browns will make a lot of noise.
Flacco is a much better QB than Watson, brown fked up giving him a guaranteed contract. Watson hasn’t been worth it whatsoever, even if they start Flacco next year, the still have to pay Watson

This 1 of the few times I have to disagree with Acho. Is it Tua's fault that 9 of his starters are injured with 7 of them being All-Pro/Pro Bowlers? Is it Tua's fault that his HC McDaniel didn't have a game plan when Tyreek went down early in the game against the Titans?
What?! Wtf is going on here?! Josh Allen is nowhere near top 2 qb in the league🤣🤣 Clearly Lamar is one of the 2

I know the quarterback is the most valuable player on a team. But when all the bigon defense are hurt and you don't have an offensive line that can stay healthy. When Brady tore his acl week 1 the patriots missed the playoffs being 11-5 people still mentioned brady was hurt
The reason Tua can't justify a huge contract without a couple playoff wins is because Tyreek is generational. Keenen Allen is good, Diggs is good - but Tyreek is on a different planet, the offense belongs to him. Tua is good but his role is literally "get ball to Hill". Herbert has no wins but his stats have been consistently astronomical so the Chargers had no choice
12:16 you can’t be a analyst talking like this yeah sure at first glance you’ll be like they didn’t mark the playoffs but when you get into a actual convo that’s when context come in
why does the QB have so much pressure to make playoffs. what if Josh goes in throws for 400 yrds 5 td and the Defense give up 6 td. is that on Josh? This is the ultimate TEAM sport. You cannot put it all on one position. Which has frequently been done to Josh. He didn't beat KC in the playoffs not that his D gave up 10 pts in 45 seconds. (3 in 13 and 7 in 30 OT). This is dumb.
