    You explained things very clearly.
    Thank you for your help.
    I feel like I have a direction to start diagnosing.
    I am not a fan of throwing parts at a problem. Expensive and unnecessary.

      Sounds like a TFI and stator.

      Hi Ken
      Thank u for responding I changed the TFI a few months ago with a Motorcraft TFI I also replaced the resistor of the coil that goes to the computer pin 4 would it be ok with you if I contacted you through email for some help I’m really desperate

      Sure but I still say you need to replace the stator or the coil.

    Your video helped me figure out I had a bad coil though the testing process.
    Car starts and runs now.
    However My car is not firing on #7 (much colder header temp, obvious miss fire.)
    The firing order is correct.
    It has spark at that wire.
    Fuel pressure is in spec.
    It has good compression in that cylinder.
    Next thing I can think to check is the injector.
    How do I test that?. I do not have a node tester.
    It looks like I need to pull the upper intake to access it as well.

      Take a resistance reading on that injector and compare to the one next to it. A reading of about 15-20 ohms. You might just have a bad spark plug or plug wire.

    My 85 town car has CFI, but just can seem to light off without a taste of fuel in the intake. Once it does it has no problems, is it safe to assume the last minute and a half of your video applies to my set up too? Just pip from the tfi and the tps? Also, do you know if the crank position sensor or engine coolant temp sensor could cause this on the CFI models?

      @badshoeproductions  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't think it's the crank sensor, if it's bad, it wouldn't start at all. You should be able to do an EEC test on a 85 model. The ECT, ACT or TPS might be the cause but the old CFI systems can be difficult to diag. Most of the video does apply to your car too.

    What could cause a vehicle to not start only with the spout connector plugged in?

      I think I've seen that twice. It was either a bad TFI or PCM.

    What if your 89 mustang all of sudden stops,making a swoosh noise in engine compartment, then fuel pump will stay priming,will not go on then off?will say on ,but won't start,now fuel pump wont even go on?replaced, coil,distributer,relays,Eritrea switch,wires,msd box not lighting up and no power to tps,but fuel injectors are getting power?can the fuel pump go from priming and not stop priming to completely dying?have a aromotive 340 lb in it,thank you, and excellent videos

    • @badshoeproductions
      @badshoeproductions  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Follow the video. I think you will find the TPS voltage test will fail the ground test. If so, possible internal open in the PCM.
