Replacing Gas Sensor on Trane TAM9 Variable Speed | Bad Suction Line Temp Sensor - Trane Error code

After finding the 164.01 error code on a Trane TAM 9 Variable Speed XV 20 System, I replaced the AC suction line temperature sensor. The unit was installed just over a year ago, so we replaced the part under warranty.

The Trane TAM 9 system pretty much diagnoses itself, so once you learn how to navigate around the menu sets, the HVAC system can pretty much tell you what the issue is.

That's a good question. I believe it specifies in the manual but I just couldn't be bothered to mess with it anymore as I had to get to the next call lol.

got a 175 code for low superheat, ever seen an intermittent gas sensor cause this? or you thinking more like excessive charge, unit is less than 6 months old.

Yes I have seen a gas sensor cause that code . Could be the gas sensor is not properly mounted on the vapor line I actually just published a video recently covering how to diagnose and repair this issue. The video title is called don't mistake this for air flow issue. Let me know if this helps
