    I took a very similar route to this one and can proudly say I’ve passed the 2nd time with 4 minors! These videos helped loads, thank you so much!!

    You got so close to my home If you didn’t turn to park road and went (not saying it anymore don’t wanna get robbed) would have passed me! Also park road is really really busy and nobody really obeys the speed limit there, it’s nice to see one single car obeying it

      Unfortunately the lack of police has led to almost every part of society speeding. It could be worth speaking with your MP to push the council for traffic calming as Barnet council haven’t given a d**n for years. Mays Lane is a great example of their incompetence.

    Got my test in barnet next week, would you mind sharing the test routes in barnet so I can practice them, that would be appreciated.

      I don’t have them written down, but like I mentioned in the other vid, look for the signs, road markings, and other drivers, and you’ll get there.

    They should ideally come to a mock having practiced the show me tell me part as it counts towards one driver fault.

      If the clients revised them I do them but I don’t want to stress them out before they’ve even started if they haven’t seen them. But I agree that it does make it more realistic.

    Michael can you do a video with the route starting from Barnet Test Centre and goes second left after the second set of traffic lights. I failed today there. Mays Lane??

      I’m sorry to hear it didn’t go to plan and my fingers are crossed it goes well next time for you.
      There are 3 routes that go that was as far as I know. Did you end up in Arkley, Sterling corner roundabout, or north Finchley?

      @@learntodrivetheeasyway Can't remember, but we did the second left into Underhill/Mays Lane and when when came back we did a right from Underhill again to go under the bridge and back to centre. Mind you I was ill and would have cancelled it. But was too late. My examiner was Barry. Nice guy, but I got 4 serious faults. Twice he put his foot down on the brakes.
      He also took me to a car park that had some sort of gate we had to go through.

      @@HoudalothAli I think I know the route and if it is, that’s interesting as it was an old route that I didn’t think they still used!

      @@learntodrivetheeasyway Lol. Underhill/Mays Lane is where I was taken into via the SATnav when Independent driving started straightaway for me. I was surprised, but coped with it. I had veered off the SATnav initially, but examiner told me we are going left. It's cause I was fixated by videos on TH-cam that specific routes may happen. i was wrong.

    I would love to do a mock test with you before my test in Barnet in January. How do I get in contact with you, I feel like I am ready for test having only done 4 hours of private lessons with tutor but the rest with my dad as he has been a driver for 25 years

    Dear examiner
    I don’t accept that you should look in the mirror by turning your neck. I have been driving for more than twenty years and I have never had an accident. I have seen the dangers just by turning my eyes and looking at the mirrors. Turning your head too much and paying too much attention to the back an mirrors makes you pay less attention to the front, most of the accident statistics are in front of cars and I have seen a lot. And too many sings in London confuse the driver more and take away from the normal driving mode. Can an examiner monitor a driver’s eyes? The way of judgments in driving is different, the examiner can never fully determine what the driver saw and what reaction she or he chose at the moment. These strictures in the exam are unnecessary, more important is that you should pay attention to the skill of controlling and maneuver drivers .
    With respect

    • @learntodrivetheeasyway
      @learntodrivetheeasyway  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for your comment. Would you be kind enough to give me the time stamp of which part of the video you are relating too?
      With regards to mirror use. I fully agree that overuse can be dangerous. But underuse is far more common and dangerous. When you mention that the data shows that a collision is likely to be frontal, that means it’s a rear end collision for someone, and that collision could have been avoided potentially had the driver taken action to prevent the collision (i.e, kept a bigger gap to the vehicle in front, signalled or started braking earlier).
      Examiners, instructors, and assessors are trained to look for clues in the drivers changes to the prevailing conditions in accordance to when they check the mirrors. And there’s a lot more to driving then manoeuvres and car control. With forever changing Laws and differences in the Highway Code, not forgetting the additional congestion that we face in London due to LTN’s and additional congestion, use of mirrors is more important now than ever before. And as a cyclist, and former motorcyclist, I know the importance. The driving test is designed to make the next generation of drivers as skilled and safe as possible. And with independent driving and vehicle safety checks being part of the test to further the importance of the driver taking responsibility of all elements.

    If you don't mind can you tell me this route is easy or hard for driving test?

    • @learntodrivetheeasyway
      @learntodrivetheeasyway  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Most people find this to be one of the easier routes in Barnet. But it depends on the driver. This type of route is what I call a technical one due to meeting situations and being hilly.

    • @HoudalothAli
      @HoudalothAli 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Defo one of the easier routes. You need to go on dual carriageway and single carriageways to know what Barnet is about.

      The sped up bits are where nothing happens though to save you watching us driving on a straight road/stuck in traffic. The important bits are at normal speed.
