Same! I was eating more of a plant bases diet up until recently. Our brains needed the fats and protein but we were trying to lose weight with low fat diet low meat based diet while also nursing a baby. The brain is made of cholesterol and you have to rebuild your brain with fats after pregnancy. They have found the brain shrinks during pregnancy and it takes a couple years to regrow.

I just found out about this community on June 17th and I ordered her book. I am reading it now. I have been seeking the truth about nutrition for so long and was so blown away by The Obesity Code by Dr. Fung a few years ago. After trying so many diets and being miserable eating a plant-based diet, I decided to start the carnivore diet last week and I feel incredible!!!! In just a weak, my joints are not hurting, there is no bloating and uncomfortable feeling like reflux. I am so ecstatic. Of course, I'm keeping this to myself bc people are so misinformed and judgmental. But, it has been a wonderful ride so far. I even joined Bella's Steak and Butter Gang July Challenge! I am looking forward to seeing how my body elevates and transforms.

How do you do Steak and butter Kellie? Butter has a low smoke point, so I wouldn't cook a steak with it. Do you melt it into the steak when the steak is cooling down? Thanks!

@@lemon_j Hi. The community that we are a part of is called the Steak and Butter Gang. I didn't mention how I cook my steak.🤭 But, since you asked, I melt about 2 tablespoons of butter and rub my ribeyes with it, then, I use Kosher salt to season it. I put it in the air fryer for 15 minutes on 400. I also love short flank ribs thanks to Bella. I don't put butter on those before cooking.

*Judy Cho has a way of conversating/teaching/listening that is absolutely relateable to so many people. It's not necessarily that we all share the same "issues" w/food or mental health, in fact it can look quite different from person to person, yet the common thread is that our nutrition is KEY to nearly every/any said issues one may have struggled with~ or are still dealing with. Judy is so transparent that it frees the listener/learner up to look more objectively, less emotionally at our own lives. I appreciate her so much, & am well aware that I'm not alone in this~ no way I could be =)

😂 Perhaps show him the latest study, published Jan 2022 in Frontiers in Nutrition: “United States Dietary Trends Since 1800: Lack of Association Between Saturated Fatty Acid Consumption and Non-communicable Disease”
By: Joyce H. Lee, Miranda Duster, Timothy Roberts and Orrin Devinsky
“Results: Processed and ultra-processed foods increased from 60% of foods. Large increases occurred for sugar, white and whole wheat flour, rice, poultry, eggs, vegetable oils, dairy products, and fresh vegetables. Saturated fats from animal sources declined while polyunsaturated fats from vegetable oils rose. Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) rose over the twentieth century in parallel with increased consumption of processed foods, including sugar, refined flour and rice, and vegetable oils. *Saturated fats from animal sources were inversely correlated with the prevalence of NCDs*.”

So spot on! I used to eat donuts or fast food breakfast sandwiches in a.m. , fast food lunch loaded with carbs and was starving by dinner. 11 months ago gave up ALL sugar, processed foods and eventually trasitined to carnivore ..mostly bc I'm lazy ...lol. it was just easier. I now eat OMAD and I'm never hungry. Sit thru morning meetings at work where people bring in donuts, lunch meetings where everyone brings their fast food and it never tempted me. Amazing , considering I was highly addicted to sugar, breads, fast food , pasta. Reversed my T2D, lost 61 lbs so far and feel 20 years younger! 😊

I love you two! I save your videos to my favorite list. Judy, your book is awesome - I refer to it frequently for information. I’m 64 and carnivore for 4 years. Eating carnivore has healed leaky gut, candida overgrowth and associated autoimmune issues including awful joint pain.
Since I was 13 I’ve searched for the optimal way to eat and exercise for good health and to maintain a decent weight. Twice in my life I’ve lost over 100 lbs. I ate many diet plans including low fat, vegetarian, high carb, etc. Nothing was sustainable. I ran marathons and taught kickboxing aerobics and still couldn’t keep off the weight and had various injuries. For 25 years doctors tried to put me on statins (even when I was eating low fat and running/exercising daily) and I refused! Carnivore is miraculous! My weight is stable at a perfect weight for me for 1 1/2 years. I eat ribeyes, burger, bacon and eggs and never go hungry! I have a much better energy level than I’ve had in years. Yay!
Being in the healing arts many of my colleagues are vegan or plant based and have lots of health issues. There is a belief in my field that to be high vibrational as a healer and medium you shouldn’t eat animals. Hogwash!! My psychic mediumship readings and shamanic healing sessions for clients are as good or better than ever. I have much more energy and attention span to service more clients in a day. My connection with spirit is as strong and clear as ever. Eating animals has healed me physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. I give gratitude to the animals who nourish me.
Thank you both Judy and Dr Chaffee for speaking out on behalf of the carnivore community! 🙏💕😇

Eliminate all sweet tasting foods and sweet spices from your house. General rule: if it tastes sweet then don't put it in your mouth. Don't even chew sugarless chewing gum. Anything sweet will trigger you to fall out of ketosis.

Hello Dr. Anthony Chaffee! The story you told about eating the meat with all the seasoning st your family's home rang the most for me because after being strict carnivore for over a year I decided to take a break from it and have some fruit and other junk food (big mistake). The next day I felt the worst kind of depression in my entire life and I haven't cried for years but tears just came out of my eyes and it wasn't even a bad day. I could tell then , in that moment , clear as day that its the plants that cause all of this. 3 days later back on the meat diet I felt immediately better. I done this mistake several times in the past few months and every time I do it I get hit with this insane depression episode. At this point I can't even enjoy the mouth pleasure of the plant foods because I really don't wanna go through that hell again , it's such a roller coast ride and I prefer the stable mindset on a meat only diet.

And I suspected that, because at my local food co-op, you could absolutely tell that the strawberries were NOT organic. Excellent discussion, excellent interview guest, Judy Cho 🏆👍. She (Judy Cho) was great. As were you of course...it is why I stay tuned into this channel. Thank you for that podcast. Truly loved it. That was top notch, very thought provoking, and as well alarming on some levels. Just a super video Dr. Chaffee.🏆👍
As I listened more towards the end my thoughts seem to form (based around ones been having over decades now, seeing what seems is (actually) coming into its fruition almost like some original of an Orson Wells novel. That is becoming more alarming by the passing decades....as if on a 100 year designed plan. But too far fetched to be realistic? Or?
But, if I were given the access to computers and programmers to design algorithms to design a way to dumb down entire societies globally of people over decades to basically own them in how they will work, live, and who and how they will serve a very few...the fraction of the maybe 1%er's we never hear from just know them as the wealthy of the wealthiest, where names are rarely mentioned or even a topic. I couldn't have done it better to be a part of the creation of the next ultimate ruling empire to come. But that is way out there, or ?. Just as out there though is turning this nutritional health around anytime soon, if at all. As entities of people, who regular lay and professional rely on to give their recommendations too, to correct the literature or guidelines going forward...who are doing nearly anything but.
So please, as you can, put out the information as you have just like this video. Others will be helped, eyes opened a little more, and who knows maybe decades from now there will be a movement of nutritiously aware educated people who know better, live healthier and maybe help those they can too.
But we know this has been going on since long before hydrogenated margarines were made popular as a stable in the homes as healthy alternative to real "unhealthy" butter! Excellent Video kudos both to you, Dr. Chaffee 🏆👍 and Judy Cho🏆 Great think piece.👍

Yes, I would rather "peel off the bandage all at once" also. It's easier than letting go of one type of food at a time.
I am 6 weeks in to the carnivore diet, 66 years old and went 95/5 carnivore. It's rough for sure! But, my one addiction, coffee with milk and a teaspoon of sugar helps me get through the day. It keeps me in a low positive mindset while I feel awful, and notice small steps towards healing. It also makes me believe the carnivore diet is right for me since some healing has finally occurred for the first time in decades. Thank you both for this interview!

I’m a carnivore almost a year and I teach preschool. My students are 2-4 yrs old. I have to teach how good fruits and veggies are! But I make sure to add to my students that kids NEED their meats too. I tell them make sure you get your proteins! I make a big deal when a child has a meat dish in their lunch box and ooh and Aaah when one of my students brings fresh mozzarella. I’m trying to make some kind of impact. One parent “bragged” to me how their child drinks Celery juice every morning and eats a ton of veggies every morning. I know they think they are doing their best. I just say wow that would give my daughter a stomach ache. I like when she eats some bacon and an egg. I hope they ask me about it but they never do. I also don’t lie to my students and if they ask I tell them I don’t like vegetables I like to eat meat. And I also admit I like Ice cream. But I’m not going to act like I love my veggies.

I gradually ate leaner meat about a year ago, mostly because I had always liked sirloins before going carnivore and it did indeed progressively make me hungrier and I found myself eating 2-3 times as much every day and it did play hell with my blood sugars. The protein sparing helped enormously with bring the sugar under control and getting me back on track and I liked it simply because it at least felt like I was eating something. It has been tough figuring out what to really do, especially because it take so long to heal, but still simply eating fatty meat and not worrying about how much I eat and marching on. Slowly getting to the end of fixing the diabetes and it may take a while longer, but after so many years of hurting myself it shouldn't be a surprise it take a while to heal.

Many scientists are focused on fasting and I don't believe a single one has found much of anything that is detrimental. Found paleo ketogentic fatty meats and was on cloud 9!! But my poop never went to normal 8 months in and I developed arcus in my eye, although linked to diabetes/gallstones (yes at risk pre-diabetes 2 and gallstones) my cholesterol/triglycerides/blood pressure are SUPER LOW. Since arcus in eye happened with in the year I had fatty meats and my poop never stopped diherrea phase I'm feeling concerned. Eggs now sit in me for 4 hours. I want to completely take A1C to 4,6 instead of 5.7-6.0 but when I eat fatty meat at this point, I AM nauseous/sluggish AF/sleepy SOMETHING IS OFF. I took 3 days to only that didn't make me queasy or sleepy. Scallops, fish, turkey, turkey, slices of roast beef, avocado, steamed zucchini, butter, 2 tbsp almond butter and 1 cup keifer cup with coconut oil, 1/2 tsp of turmeric/1/2 tsp ginger (liver felt inflamed prior) ) and this morning I pooped for first time, sinker, no smell, no grease. I was scared of going on enzymes because I've researched ppl getting pancreatic problems out of it. I did start TUDCA and had small piece of steak today without it feeling like it's buried n my stomach. Do you accept patients OR is there something you can suggest? I did think it could also be that I'm not active and when I started meat world I was helping stores make deliveries while covid. Thank YOU for all your persistence. Just in case you haven’t heard this yet, but anecdotally, some people report getting more constipated with dairy in their diet. So if you haven’t tried eliminating it yet, dairy might be something you’d want to leave out.
Also, double check that what you mean by constipation is painful passing of stools? Or straining? Constipation is NOT infrequent bowel movements. Carnivore almost universally makes you go less as there seems to be less waste for your body to excrete. Example, some people may go everyday on omnivore Keto, but when turning carnivore only go every other day, or once every 3-5 days. But if there’s pain, or strain, or really hard stools and they can get stuck, then that sounds like real constipation.

    • @sully126
      @sully126 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@@sully126 oh, good to hear! As for the RA, give it time. I don’t know if this next thing I suggest will apply to you. But in case it does, you may want to watch a few vids on oxalates and oxalate dumping. I suggest interviews of Sally Norton and Elliot Overton. Sometimes oxalates (from plant foods like spinach, kale, almonds, chocolate etc) can be the culprits behind joint pain. Getting rid of high oxalate plants is the solution. Carnivore does this simply by getting of rid of all plants. Unfortunately the body first goes through a period of oxalate dumping where symptoms often get worse before they get better. Eventually the body finally succeeds in clearing them out and then a whole bunch of symptoms start to get better or outright disappear. You can slow down oxalate dumping by eating small amounts of high oxalate foods like the ones mentioned above, or by drinking tea (which also contains oxalates). My own joint pains started to worsen when I went plant-heavy keto. But then disappeared when I went Carnivore. At the very least, removing carbs and seed oils should help keep inflammation down.

Thank you both for speaking about the details of these poison foods and their effects. I am grateful that you are focusing on carnivore as a healing way of eating for our species!

When you up your salt intake, (Redmonds Real salt) your sugar cravings go away along w/ carnivore. Read the book The Salt Fix

Yes it definitely can be! Sugar is very addictive, fructose specifically. But like any addiction it can be broken, and usually after about 2 weeks you won't even miss it. Good luck with it! You can also just eat fatty meat whenever you get a craving and that usually calms it down

@@peggyharper8193 I’ve been carnivore for a little over 2 months, but I was so tired & couldn’t figure it out. I ordered the Vivoo urine test strips & saw that my salt was very low. The Salt Fix book made me see that a low to no carb diet you can be even lower. W/in 1 day of salting my water every time I drank a glass, my energy came back, yay! I’m so grateful! The book talks a lot about sugar.

I'm surprised to hear people ate plant based for so long. I did it for 1 year and I felt like it almost killed me.

When I was plant based I would have these crazy food cravings at night, like I would want to eat a box of cereal...I was also stoned though
