    Hi! Years ago (almost 10!) my cousin tried to get me to try Zentangle...just couldn't get started. Have just hit on your TH-cam 100 days 2020 and wow! Thanks to you, have fallen head over heals in drawying them! It is not part of my nightly ritual as it's the last thing I do before going to bed...ahhhhhh, thank you ;)

    Hi, so I will leave a comment for you. Hi from Germany, love your way of teaching - just letting it flow even if not all turns out perfect. It's these imperfections, that make the art flourish.
    And don't worry, I am not an FB, twitter, insta and what not neither - just don't have time for all this and often there's too much hate going around.
    I like the YT communities - most peeps are just nice people sharing a hobby they can communicate about. Appreciate that a lot

      Hi Tina! Welcome to the warmest community on earth! I'm hoping to do a few but I know there are a lot of live classes in Facebook right now! I hope to see you through the tough times! I am no stranger to them and so I know first hand how much healing goes with it. Stay strong and remember the Zentangle motto. "Anything is possible, one stroke at a time!" Focus on each pen stroke and let the rest go for awhile. It would really help!

    Do “they” frown upon ZIA in/on Zentangle mosaic? I guess I sort of stray a little too far off the path to my tiles be actual Zentangle.
    I will quote a common comic strip from 20 years ago.

      The Tireless Tangler - I beg your pardon, we do say y'all from time to time, but around here, we don't use y'all like Paula Deen. I love her but she goes way over board with it. But you know, when she first went on tv she didn't do that. Must be some sort of publicity crap. At any rate, I do love your tangles, southern accent and all.

    Hi cyndee: I am new to this. I came across you by accident. I have a desire to draw but not good at it, but need something for relaxation. Where do I start?

    • @TheTirelessTangler
      @TheTirelessTangler  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Karen! You came to the right place my new friend. To start, you need a pen, paper, a pencil and that's it! Whatever you have in hand. If you would like to order some supplies, I would be happy to help you out with a basic list! The most important tool would be a decent technical pen. I prefer Pigma Microns by Sakura. I mostly use the 01 in black or the PN in black. You can always branch out if you want dive in deeper! You will want a sketchpad at some point, but copy paper works if it is what you have. If you are on a budget, try premium copy paper, it's much nicer than plain. If you have the budget, I recommend the Canson Mixed Media sketchpad. It comes with different sizes and is great for wet media and pen and ink. For "tiles" you can purchase the Zentangle tiles at Zentangle.com. They are expensive and there are some cheaper alternatives. If you want to get a large pad of hot pressed watercolor paper, you can cut it down to 4x4 inch squares. That's one alternative. For shading, it helps if you have some tortillons (rolled paper that ends in a point, used for smudging and blending pencil... I really need to do a video about this... Thank you for your comment! Please let me know if you have any further questions! 💜

    • @TheTirelessTangler
      @TheTirelessTangler  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I may have misunderstood the meaning of your question. To start just watch a video and try to draw along. You don't need to know anything. You can learn as you go. I try to choose mostly simple patterns that are fun to embellish. Start with day one if you like. It's a simple pattern that turns out awesome, or you can start with today's video, just don't give up. Keep practicing. Mine certainly don't all turn out perfectly!💜

    • @karenpaul1541
      @karenpaul1541 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi cyndee: thank you for your reply. I got a sketch book, (mixed media) I also got the micron pens. My problem is, that I try and rush through instead of taking my time therefor I mess up and get frustrated. I really need to work on slowing down. If you could help me with a supply list, I can gradually work on supplies too.. I really have this desire and hope to overcome the frustration, feeling like I can’t do this.
