ITS ALMOST LIKE GOING BACK IN TIME IM GLADE SOMEONE TOOK THERE TIME FLIMING THIS IT BRINGS BACK SO MANY MEMORIES I MISS THE TTC NOW LIVING IN LONDON ONT. BUT ITS FUN TO WATCH AND TAKE A RIDE. MERRY CHRISTMAS.
I took the TTC to Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport years ago, here is my route: Kennedy Station to Bathurst Station, switched to a streetcar at Bathurst to Fleet Street, it was a 7 minutes walk to the airport (ferry terminal)
@@rbassassin99 In my opinion, subways because you dont have to deal with people crossing infront of you while your driving on the streets subways travel underground therefore you don't have to worry about pedestrians.
Thank you! I was finally able to find a video on the full route version of the eastbound Bloor-Danforth line! However, if you filmed on the H6 train that was right in front of the train you were on, the video would have been 10x better.
Why does the route run entirely underground after Warden Station? It must be hell just trying to GET to Kennedy Station; in the opposite direction, trains run out like they're Batmobiles especially with the sounds and/or vibration bouncing off the tunnel walls; just curious, how come the Rosedale Valley Viaduct is completely covered up? It's one thing for the subway to have it's own bridge to realign with Bloor Street in both directions due to the curves along Bloor and Parliament Streets, I even saw a documentary about the air vents that were covered up later to cut down noise reduction, but the sceneries of the Rosedale Ravine could have helped.
@@joelsterling1445 I remember coming across a video or a commentary explaining why the route goes underground nonetheless to/from Kennedy Station. . .amazing how a passage was chosen for a route with no major and/or cross•streets to support any route. . .an example goes to London's Underground where the Picadilly Line follows the National Rail commuter trains for a great distance between King's Cross/St. Pancras Station to Highbury/Islington (I l💓ve double named station stops), BUT it's completely underground (see the video), and doesn't see the light of day until Arnos Grove.
When I worked for the Chicago Transit Authority I thought our trains were slow. Extended snail's pace here makes me think CTA almost deserves the term "Rapid Transit". Signal blocks seem extremely short in many places. So many signals appear to be controlling speed but for no reason.
I believe this was filmed near rush hour, with more people and trains running, so they were all moving a bit slower than when trains are spread further apart.
I wanted to come up to Toronto and ride Deborah Street subway and I wanted to look out the railfan window and get a head end ride. I notice on other clips I see that the car fronts are roped off. Are they all like that or just some of the trains? I hope they stop that soon. I haven’t been up to the great city of Toronto in about seven years. Thanks. .
@@TransmaniaOntario I may come up there in the fall hopefully by then it’s better. I wouldn’t want to come up there now because of all these selfish egotistical truckers. Even if I couldn’t stand up there there’s a lot of trackside railfanning that I can do.
Alex Jirgens like Vancouver's SkyTrain turnaround, the trains simply use a series of points to guide the train onto the opposite set of tracks. The points move and guide the train in the right direction when it switches directions. So there's no loop
Yup same here except when it first started use here there was a loop at one end but it only lasted about a year or so because they had trouble with the trains getting stuck in it. Originally the SRT line in Toronto was supposed to use Streetcars instead but the province of Ontario wanted to try and sell the SkyTrain technology. The only other ones in service still are in a few airports in the US as well as Vancouver and Detroit. Of all of the locations using it Vancouver is the biggest user of it.
The Scarborough subway should be extended from Kennedy and Eglinton along McCowan Road to McCowan and Sheppard (consisting of 3 or 4 stops) - The McCowan subway could later be extended north one stop at a time towards McCowan and Steeles, the Town of Markham, and Markville Shopping Centre as the demand and population density requires it - See my blog at TorontoTransitBlog@blogspot.com for more information, comments, and concerns, regarding traffic and transit in Toronto

Why not make a move back to Toronto then?
I don’t even know how it feels to ride the TTC anymore, I’ve lost that feeling. 😞😔
@Liam Watson Its not the same without the Hawkers its very dull and no variety nowadays
@@ryzennav also you can't ride in the front anymore
@@ryzennav, you are correct. (Everyone in the whole city starts crying)

Your most popular video. And almost 10 years old. Big fan of these trains!
retired ttc operator here. i miss doing this
One uncle of mine was a bus driver, the other subway, my cousin worked in the TTC garage.
Which is actually fun subway, bus or streetcar

Super Mario Transit Fan 16 somebody did a video talking about how being a subway operator sucks
How long did you do it for?
I ride this subway from Kipling to Jane everyday
Luckyyy
You are lucky I also took it from Kipling to Kennedy
I remember every Saturday I would ride the subway on this line to St. George Station to attend my piano classes at RCM.

***** Nice!
@*****Nice!
I wish you made more of these videos.
transmania ontario i love you so much
Nice video recording. I guess the Bloor-Danforth Line was very busy at the time.
I rode on that subway from Kennedy Station to Bathurst Station then switched to 511 Bathurst streetcar to Fleet St
Hard to believe this video is almost a decade old. Time flies fast! Do you plan to do a subway documentary for the subway's 70th anniversary?
I could just imagine 53 minutes of thomas the tank engine as the train was going through the stations.
thats weird and cringe
The stretch between Warden and Kennedy….an ETERNITY!
I Have Been Ride On August 9 Kipling All The Way To Kennedy
My favorite station is Donlands, Donlands Station
28:57 that part is before the bridge
Awesome intro

Not the whole route east of Warden is underground but it does start to go underground a few metres east of the station

52:40 Announcement says arriving at Kennedy station
What was that ticking during the driving
Clash of Clans with BAM i think he was using a tri-pod to hold the camera so the vibrations of the train moving made those ticking sounds
air pressure
snow on wheens OR camera vibrating against window
Great video! How’d you get access to the cab view?
Didn't
There's a window besides the cab for the driver
29:04 Bridge for a trains
is that 75 foot T1?
Two in a row before reaching the second station?
Why is the train moving so slow between Warden and Kennedy?
Due to mechanical problems/issues
Beyond Kennedy, is that an actual turn around loop? Or what is it?
+Alex Jirgens The subway trains just go back in the opposite direction. They do not loop
+Nicholas Klymciw +Alex Jirgens they are what's called pocket tracks and they can store a train out of service in them

That machine gun farting sound is annoying as hell. Cool video though .
It’s because of the vibration of the window making the annoying sound.
