This seems like a go. My original plan was to start couriering for a year and the get my semi. So now the plan is to see what his current runs are and how I can be a benefit and going ahead and get a sprinter and use the MC/dot authority to run medical courier

Man I was OTR and young and stupid didn't save money and always looked out for people, I have to pay a 1,500 reinstatement fee because I was driving someone else car that didn't have insurance and had a accident! Can't wait to get back out there
I definitely know the feeling on always looking out for people…I learned the hard way…you can be there for everybody else but nobody is there for you when you really need them

It all depends on which company you lease under…you got some owner operators that will let you lease under their authority for a certain percentage and let you book your own loads off of the load board

Arrow Trucks Sales will take a 670 and above…as long as there isn’t any collections or a HUGE debt due on your credit…that’s where I brought my truck from…the one in Tampa Florida…but they have other dealerships all over

Yes I have registered my truck in maryland and it can be a little difficult if you don’t have everything that you need for mva…Everytime I went there I felt like it was something new that I needed to get the tags

What does having an Authority mean? You lost me at lease to a company or use your own authority, what does that mean; what are you leasing to a company? What does Power only mean as opposed to getting a trailer? I won't be driving, but looking for drivers, so, if these questions sound stupid, it's because I absolutely know nothing! LBVS
No question is a dumb question…but I can definitely explain everything to you…if you have your own authority then you can go on the load board and book loads yourself and negotiate rates…if you lease on to a company then you can only choose from whatever loads that company already have booked and you can’t negotiate rates…power only means that you only have a tractor and not a trailer so you will be looking for loads from people who have trailers and need loads moved but they don’t have trucks if that makes sense
I went with Class A. That way you can drive everything. If you go for class B, then you just gonna have to do the whole process all over again just to get your class a. So I would just go for class A from the jump

A rough estimate I would say between 5k to 15k and the most expensive things are buying the truck and starting the insurance

I did everything myself except for filing the BOC-3…you will need a filing agent for that one but everything else you can do yourself

Naw I believe they give you at least 3 months to get everything in order before you have to pay everything again

Some places usually ask for insurance in order to let you drive it off of the lot
