- If your jet ski won't accelerate, starts vibrating, or begins to overheat - you likely have some seaweed or debris stuck in your intake! In this short video I'll show you exactly how to clean it out and get you on your way in less than 10 minutes!

Thank God my Sea Doo has IDF. Didn't realize it was this much work. Great video.
In the water! lol.. Legend! Great video.
So mine doesn’t have all the debris and i’m thinking that since water got in it screwed with the electrical work or the water projection system broke. it stopped working when i went on a turn.
was hoping this would resolve my issue on a 2006 fx ho but no debris in there. The engine revs fine but top speed dropped to 4 to 6 mph and luckily I made back to shore. I could see the impeller turning from the rear on the trailer. I've read about this somewhere and will continue to look. This started out of nowhere as I stopped from 40+ mph to sit a moment and when I started to move again I had hardly any forward motion at all.
same thing happened too me did u figure iut out?
I have the same issue of slow acceleration the. It will get up to about 25mph. I changed fuel lines and cleaned carb and that didn’t fix the issue. It did get a little better after cleaning carb. Before it wouldn’t go over 15mph. I need help
Strange - and you're sure there's nothing stuck in the shaft like I show in this video? Does it sound like the engine is working harder than it should to accelerate?
Thank you for the video. I needed it
Glad it was helpful!
I was helping my brother in law on his 2000 Yamaha 1200 xl. Brand new motor. the ski would only get up to 5mph and once it hit 4500, it would redline and go nowhere, no surge at all. I cleaned the grate out and nothing changed. The only thing I could possibly think of is the impeller is worn out in comparison to the housing. I did not detect any end play with the shaft. I used to be a machinist so I understand clearances and run out and I did not detect any. My best estimating guess is that between the housing and the edge of the impeller was around .100. Any thoughts?
Did you figure that out?
@@GioConstructsdid you figure this out? Same issue
You didn't have to take off the intake grate and on an older jetski the bolt heads will just snap off
1987 Yamaha wave jammer 500 not going past 3 miles an hr.
Get a set of metric sockets.
Hope those anchors don’t go all the way through the hull, without silicone, you might end up with a leak that might not cause bilge problems, but will get into the threads. Those ride plates are famous for stripping out during the removal portion of the job.
If your not fixing your jet ski in the water your not doing it right, LOL
Did mine in the middle of a lake one time after sucking up some debris.
You lost me when you started using a 1/2 instead of a 13mm
lol, he lost me on so many levels. But like you, once he said half inch, I thought, when was Yamaha American made, lol.
The fact that he's calling a yamaha a jet ski, taking it apart in water, and working right under it like that, I had to stop the video and come to the comment to get a chuckle.
That's not a Jet Ski
