Hiking Root Glacier with Kennicott Glacier Guides in Wrangell St Elias National Park, July 2022

The hike is about 5.5 miles (including wandering about on the glacier) on the half day guided tour. The trail was mostly flat, however there was a short steep section down to the glacier and back up at the end.
I recommend going with a guide anytime you're heading out on a glacier if you are not experienced in glacier travel.
