I love how some judo style throws blend with greco roman wrestling style hand fighting/body locking. What few fundamental judo techniques would you focus on if your game is centered around fighting into a clinch/ body lock?
I am not an instructor, but these are simple and high percentage for me, when in clinch range- Ouchi Mata, Soto Maki, and the Ouchi gari. Play with them, and have fun!
I'm mega late, but if you haven;t already found it I love the prime wrestling system channel. It has a lot of great stuff that transfers well across the board.
I think I got a bro crush on this dude. I never did judo but he demonstrates his moves in a way that I go, "ok I got it" in the first view. That's when I know someone has deep understanding of what they are doing. Plus that small ass dojo is old school, do or die feel to it
I used to do a tatar belt wrestling called koresh, and this throw was almost the only one you could implement on your opponent. We were practicing this throw on training dummies for hours. After 5 years of not doing sports I finally came back but now to judo, after 5 years muscles still remember how to do it, and people were asking how am I doing this good but having white belt. After couple of randori I was personally banned to use the suplex throw. And I also was told by teacher that you cannot do this throw if both your hands do not touch opponent's gi you can get shido?
Judo rules are not good. But I think cleanching hand to hand is the first thing a reffer would call. Then maybe 3 other reasons depending on how tyrannical the ref is and weather or not he is getting laid.
i think its funny how japanese names of moves are just the clean description of it.. haha like behind throw... basically thats what its called...so prob alot of japnese marital irt have same names on their different techniques
Great throw. Just one thing. As far as I am aware, you can't lock your hands together. It is a bear hug and you will get a shido. Is there any other way like by grabbing the belt?
@@tomwalker389 that true. I’ve been in judo 2 months and I’m launching coloured belts even brown from 3 years wrestling practice. I got my yellow belt today
That's my favourite throwing technique , either judo or wrestling. I used to be a wrestler, grecoroman style. I'm really skilled with it . Everyone tried to defending from me and this technique, but I always managed to get away with it.
Before judo im already have experience with freestyle wrestling. Right after i've learned how to fall and roll, my first randori was with a green belt and i was able to got him with the ura nage and guest what, i've got the title of the strongest white belt in the class with that
You push him away, open a gap and lower your body, that will neutralize it. For this throw to work, tori must be in total contact with uke's body, and at a lower stance, that's why.
If I was in the area I would buy Dante something as a sign of appreciation for taking all these falls for us. His pain is my learning.
This is the best judo channel and instruction on youtube.
This is a truly awesome channel no doubt. I would also recommend Vince Skillcorn's videos here on youtube though

You should search up no gi judo hip throws.

@@jassimarsingh6505 way ahead of ya brother
Really good combo for clinching is push-pull kuzushi followed by opponent's body twisting and harai goshi

One of those throws and i would be walking like a crippled goblin for a week

Beautiful throw!
I'd sure hate to be any unlucky foo to take that throw to a hard ground.
Dante was 'miring Shintaro's flip
This would be illegal in competition because of the grip, right?
Maybe you can grab the belt/gi & twist the grip tight?
As a bjj guy I'm always looking to see how I can professionally cheat the judo rules.
You need to have at least one traditional grip. Sleeve or lapel.

Same with Filipino martial arts techniques, the drills and concepts are named after their literal movements.
IIRC the descriptive names are from judo, Jigoro Kano adapted the old moves but using descriptive names instead of specific ones.
Nice, no bully will ever mess with me now.
Thank you Dante!!!
Feels like I’m in the dojo again. I broke my foot and I’ve been out it’s killing me it’s the type of pain that hurts on the inside😢
Excellent, thank you
Should I ove hands out from under Uke's back before landing on top of him? Or else two full bodies landing on my arms?
Judo rules often being insane, what’s hand-lock situation in judo?

can grip your own sleeve
I thought you’re still not allowed to do it straight away right? First you need Kumi kata then you can grab like that or am I wrong?
Late response but I saw this comment. In most judo competitions you are allowed ONE underhook in which you can lock your hands, not both.
A good grip would be lapel and around the waist, or both hands around the waist, never been shidoed like this
Sensei can the throw be executed without trapping your opponent's right arm down?
Yes but it looks slightly different.
The IJF is gonna ban the Ura Mage and all body lock throws eventually. Mark my words.
Why so? I think they are very spectacular and spectator friendly
@@filippobertone4255
Same reason the IJF banned leg grabs - they don't want wrestlers to dominate.

It's a belly to belly suplex!
Thx
Always good to use the low graded expendable students as ukes 🤣
Is this tournament legal?
yes. you can also grab the back of the judogi and the belt. you cant hold the grab, but can do it for an attack
I'm loving more and more wrestling/ greco roman moves. Judo rules are... interesting heh
helpful
It's like Greco-Roman wrestling
I was Like "666." Throw of the Devil. I just wanted to point that out. Judo, BJJ FTW.
Although, Harai is Satan's Mother-In-Law IMO...
It's funny how you always get the black belt for your demos but when it gets dangerous you get yellow belt 😂😂😂
Так нельзя сразу взять захват. Шидо дадут...
nice
Bruh is that a red belt
Still not an over under but eh 🤷
This is also known as lateral drop in wrestling.
Lat drops are with an underhook and overhook.
Giving the yellow belt a real backache 😆
You cant hold onto your arms
Again, not really something you’d do to a much bigger uke.
Don't teach him that! Now every purse possessing senior citizen will be at risk.
What the hell is this even supposed to mean?

@@Todo_fighting That explains why all wrestlers are taught to go straight to their backs for counter moves. Thanks!
